Welcome New MembersExternal events sometimes have a way of changing the best

laid plans of ‘mice and men’ and women. And, our plans for the last two months for the Algonquin Chapter have been no exception.

After a hot and dry summer with decent weather for out-door activities, a good list of scheduled events/outings was

published in Mountain Topics for the Fall. On September3rd we were able to have the chapter picnic at the Conservation Building [see photo] but then ex-ternal events forced a review of these plans. The COVID-delta variant emerged stronger than ever and the decision was made to cancel the Harvest Dinner in October. Also rainy weather caused the cancellation of a number of scheduled activities in SEP/OCT from a bike ride and some outings although several hikes did go as scheduled.

So this now brings us to the next three months and the plan is to have speakers at the November and January Chapter meetings together with some sched-uled outings.

Keep your fingers crossed and if the stars stay aligned we will move ahead.

Best wishes,

Ray Johnson
