Charles Haddon Spurgeon June 19, 1834 - January 31, 1892 by Mel Gerrard Charles Spurgeon was one of the most powerful and influential preachers our world has ever seen. He never attended any kind of Bible or theology school. He was known as England’s most beloved preacher. When he preached, huge crowds were attracted to come and hear what he had to say. His influence in bringing people to Jesus Christ could not be measB ured. By today’s standB ards, he lived a short life—only about 58 years! To show you the heart of this great man of God, I have included some on the quotes that are credited to him. “The saving of souls, once a man has gained love to perishing sinners and his blessed master, will be an all absorbing passion to him. the dining area of College of the Desert day before yesterday. We were there for the express purpose of telling people how to be saved so they would go to heaven when this short life is over.
A Muslim international student from Yemen began speaking with me. I began to share Jesus with him. Would you believe, before I knew it, he was asking for forgiveness of sin and he asked Jesus into his heart!
