    BeforeMountingontheconductor:

    When Reset Indicator Yellow LEDwill blink for 3minute.

    Aftermounting(andEnergizedtheLine): IndicatorsGreenLEDwillBlinkforfewminute.

    DependsontheFaultcurrent,Loadcurrentatdaytime,nighttime.UsuallywesetforDi/DtandnotthethresholdbecauseithashighersensitivitythanselectingThresholdtodetectfault.Selecting Threshold was used before the Di/Dtdetecting technique available. Hence itsrecommendedtouseDi/DtoverThreshold.

    Usually we select Voltage. If the pole has aanotherline(maybeLVline)connectedbelow,itsrecommendedtoselectCurrentastheStart/Stopcriteriatoavoidinducedvoltagescausingerrors.

    Selectminimum so the Indicatorbatterywill lastlong.UsuallyiftheschedulingofrepairstaketimeitsbettertoselectlargertimeasTimerReset.E.g.:Duringnight if faultoccursand there isnoway to attend to the repair, it will keep ondisplaying erroruntil crew goes there.But itwilldrainthebatteryfast.EnableResetonreturnofVoltage/Current returndependingontheDip4setting.

    Select Remote Programming enabled. Sowe canprogram through theCollectorwithout removingfromtheIndicatorsfromtheline.

    1.4. Testifthe3/6/9indicatorsworkbeforemounting.Beforefixingthemonthepolecheckthedevicescommunicationandthetestwearegoingtocarryoutoncethedevicesinstalledinthefield.(RefertestproceduresmentionedunderpointE)1.5. Mount the Devices (Keep them ON when you connect, no need of

    disconnectingthem.ItsrecommendedtouseafirmConnectingRod,but itseasytodeenergizethe lineandmountthemmanuallybyhand.Alsothere isapossibilityofdevicefallingwhenyoutrytomount itusingoperatingRod.1.6. TestthedevicesagainfromtheControlBoxfixedbelowthepole.YoucandothisonceallindicatorsaremountedontheLinefromthebelowControlBox.

    1.7. Oncethesetupisset,dothefollowingonthe115Collector

    a. SettheSameDipSwitchSettingasinthefaultIndicator.OnlyDip8mustbekeptatOFF.b. ResettheCollectorfromtheResetCollectorButton.c. ResetRemoteButtonhas3functions.

    YoucanexecuteFunction1: PresstheResetRemotebuttonfor0.5s2s

    YoucanexecuteFunction2: PresstheResetRemotebuttonfor2s4s

    YoucanexecuteFunction3: Press theResetRemotebutton formore than4s.We canuploadnew

    settings without changing the dip setting of the Indicators if their(Indicators)Dip8isatON.

    1.8. Indicatorswillrespondasfollows:Indication Conclusion

    a) The yellow and green LED (on theindicators)willflashsimultaneously.

    Wecanconclude that fault indicatorDIP8 isOFF,theindicatorcannotberemotelyprogrammed.

    b) The yellow and green LED (on theindicators)willflashalternating.

    We can conclude that fault indicatorDIP8 isON,theindicatorisreadyforremoteprogramming.

    Pointa)andb)willbeindicatedfor9seconds.c) ThegreenLEDontheindicatorwillflash. Lineisenergizedd) The indicator the yellow LED on the

    indicatorwillflash.Line isdeenergized.This iswhatshownwhenweresetthedevicesbeforemounting.

    Pointc)andd)willbeindicatedfor3minutes.

    1. Tofindthetypeofsubscriptionthatismosteconomicandsuitableforyoursystem,pleasecontactyourlocalnetworkserviceprovider.

    2. Wedonotrecommendusingprepaidsubscriptions.3. Voiceservicesshouldnotbeavailable.4. GSMdata(CSD)enabledandSMS.5. CLIP(CallerID)mustbeenabled.6. AllPINcodesmustbedeactivatedbeforeinstallation.SomeserviceprovidersofferSIMcards

    wherethePINcodesaredeactivatedwhenyoureceivethem.HowtoDeactivatethePIN;

    3.1. InstallationofNetTrollinWindows7machines

    YoucannotruntheLNSona64bitplatform.Youneed32bitinordertomakethePCLTAcardwork.Echelonhasunfortunatelynotcomeupwithsupportfor64bitoperatingsystem.DonotinstalltheNetTrollprograminthedefaultcatalog(c:\programfiles\....)asthiswillmakechangesdifficult.TherearesomerestrictionsinaccessontheProgramFilescatalogs.InstallNetTrollinc:\Nortroll\....instead.Theordershouldbeasfollows:1:InstallthedriverforthePCLTAcardbeforeinstallingthecardphysicallyinthecomputer.2:SwitchPCOFFandinstallthecard.3:PowerthePCup.Itshouldnowdetectthecardandstartinstallingit.Thiscantakeseveralminutesopleasebepatient.4:RestartthePCwhenthedriver/cardisproperlyinstalled.5:InstalltheLNS(YoucanusethedefaultcatalogsfortheLNS6:RestartthePC7:InstallNetTroll
