Dear Pupils, Parents and Carers, Our Chilmington team of staff usually feel pretty lucky. We love our jobs, the buzz of being in school around our amazing children every day and just now, we miss that. We miss all of you but your smiling pictures in the school hall reminder us of you all! On Tuesday 14 th April we went live with our home learning lesson videos. Wow, we were amazed that over 1000 pupils accessed these across our 8 schools in the Stour Academy Trust. Every lesson consists of a short video input from a teacher, where they introduce and explain the task they would like the children to complete. On Tuesday 14th April we went live with our home learning lesson videos. Wow, we were amazed that over 1000 pupils accessed these across our 8 schools in the Stour Academy Trust.
Every lesson consists of a short video input from a teacher, where they introduce and explain the task they would like the children to complete. Where appropriate, downloadable lesson resources are available below each video.
You can access our Home Learning Lessons in two ways:

Lessons are available to watch every week day from 9am on the Home Learning Lessons page.
We recognise that many parents are also trying to work from home, and may struggle to assist with schoolwork for a number of reasons. Where possible we have planned for the lessons to provide activities that children can complete on their own or with minimal supervision. We also appreciate that there may be many who do not have access to the resources needed to complete certain tasks. In these cases, even just watching the video and discussing it with your child will be beneficial for them.
The tasks set by the teachers in the videos are not going to be formally assessed but should your child wish for their work to be seen by a member of staff, you are more than welcome to send any completed tasks/experiments/artwork etc into us in these two ways:
1. Attach photos to a weduc message to the school office. 2. Email photos to [email protected]

I have been building a model library that I plan to put into my
book corner at school (and on the windowsill you can see the
I don't think it's possible for us to express to you how unbelievably proud we were of you all, and the phenomenal acts of kindness our children, staff and parents achieved during
the Thousand Hours project. All the Ashford schools involved in this Thousand Hours project logged 53,833hours of kindness. Our school total was: 1899 hours! We came second out of all the schools in Ashford so a massive well done to everyone! What a
wonderful school of kindness we are.
Mrs Power and her husband have been working really hard and have shown great acts of kindness by making a bug hotel, table and seats for the children to use, a
music and sensory area and fire pit in our Nurture area for us all to enjoy when we come back to Chilmington.
If anyone has any plant pots, seeds, wind chimes, old saucepans, wellington
boots etc that you are clearing out please donate them to our school.
