Parents and students can refer to the “Secondary School Education” booklet for more information on secondary education. The information published in this booklet is correct as at time of preparation. BAHAGIAN I: MAKLUMAT UMUM

1 PENGENALAN

1.1 Pelajar Darjah 6 (P6) dari sekolah rendah aliran utama yang menduduki Peperiksaan Tamat Sekolah Rendah (PSLE) dan layak ke sekolah menengah boleh mengambil bahagian dalam Penempatan Menengah 1 (S1) dengan menyerahkan pilihan sekolah-sekolah mereka. Buku ini memberikan maklumat tentang cara untuk mengambil bahagian dalam

Penempatan S1.

1.2 Pelajar-pelajar ditempatkan di sekolah menengah berdasarkan merit, berdasarkan keputusan PSLE dan sekolah-sekolah yang dipilih serta tempat kosong yang ada di sekolah tersebut.

1.3 Penempatan S1 terdiri daripada peringkat-peringkat berikut:

a. Penyerahan Pilihan-pilihan Sekolah S1 – Serahkan pilihan sekolah-sekolah anak anda dan pilihan lain (iaitu pilihan kursus dan pilihan Bahasa Ketiga) jika perlu. Lihat

Bahagian II untuk maklumat lanjut.

b. Penempatan Sekolah – MOE menempatkan anak anda di sekolah menengah dengan mengambil kira keputusan PSLE, pilihan sekolah dan jumlah tempat yang ada di

sekolah tersebut. Lihat Bahagian III untuk maklumat lanjut.

c. Penerimaan Keputusan Penempatan Sekolah – MOE mengumumkan keputusan penempatan sekolah. Anak anda perlu melaporkan diri ke sekolah menengah yang ditempatkan pada hari bekerja yang berikutnya selepas keputusan penempatan diumumkan. Lihat Bahagian III untuk maklumat lanjut.

2 PENEMPATAN S1 - TARIKH-TARIKH PENTING

2.1 Berikut merupakan beberapa tarikh penting (tentatif) untuk maklumat anda. Sila rujuk

siaran akhbar dalam bulan November untuk mengetahui tarikh yang sebenar.

Penerimaan Keputusan PSLE Antara 25 dengan 27 November 2020 (tentatif)

Penyerahan Pilihan

a. Melalui Sistem Internet

S1 (S1-IS)

Dalam masa 7 hari bermula dari tarikh pengumuman keputusan PSLE (contohnya, jika keputusan PSLE diumumkan pada 25 November, tempoh penyerahan pilihan sekolah ialah dari 25 November hingga 1 Disember).

S1-IS boleh diakses 24 jam bermula dari 11 pagi pada hari pertama hingga 3 petang pada hari terakhir Tempoh

Penyerahan Pilihan Sekolah.

b. Melalui Sekolah Rendah Dalam masa 5 hari bekerja bermula dari tarikh pengumuman keputusan PSLE.

Penyerahan Pilihan S1 bermula dari 11 pagi hingga 3 petang pada hari pertama; dan dari 9 pagi hingga 3 petang setiap hari hingga hari terakhir Tempoh Penyerahan Pilihan Sekolah. Sekolah-sekolah rendah tidak dibuka pada hujung minggu. Jika anak anda tidak menghantar pilihan mereka sewaktu Tempoh Penyerahan Pilihan Sekolah, anda boleh menghubungi sekolah rendah anak anda untuk mendapatkan bantuan sehari selepas waktu penyerahan ditutup, dari 9 pagi hingga 12 tengah hari. Waktu ini diperuntukkan hanya untuk penyerahan baharu pilihan S1 dan bukan untuk perubahan yang ingin dilakukan ke atas pilihan yang telah

dibuat.

Penerimaan keputusan penempatan S1

Antara 22 hingga 24 Disember 2020 (tentatif)

Pelajar perlu melaporkan diri ke sekolah menengah untuk pendaftaran

Anak anda perlu melaporkan diri ke sekolah menengah yang ditempatkan pada hari bekerja yang berikutnya selepas keputusan penempatan diumumkan (tidak termasuk hari sebelum hari cuti umum dan hari cuti umum). Sila rujuk lelaman web sekolah untuk mendapatkan maklumat lanjut.

2.2 Bagaimanakah jika anda tidak berada di Singapura semasa Penempatan S1? - Anda boleh memberikan kuasa kepada seorang proksi dengan menggunakan borang proksi di Rujukan L untuk bertindak bagi pihak anda untuk (i) mengambil keputusan PSLE anak anda dan Borang Pilihan S1 dari sekolah rendah anak anda; (ii) menyerahkan Borang Pilihan S1 yang lengkap kepada sekolah rendah anak anda dan (iii) melaporkan diri ke sekolah menengah yang ditempatkan untuk pendaftaran. Proksi tersebut diperlukan untuk

menunjukkan dokumen-dokumen berikut bagi pengesahan di sekolah tersebut:

a. Borang Proksi yang telah dilengkapkan (lihat Rujukan L)

b. Salinan Kad Pengenalan kedua-dua ibu bapa

c. Salinan Sijil Kelahiran anak anda

d. Kad pengenalan asli proksi yang dilantik

3 LEBIH BANYAK LALUAN PILIHAN SEKOLAH MENENGAH BAGI PELAJAR

3.1 Kebanyakan sekolah menengah menawarkan kedua-dua Peperiksaan Cambridge Sijil Am (GCE) Peringkat Biasa (‘O’) dan Normal (‘N’). Namun, ada beberapa sekolah yang menyediakan laluan pendidikan yang agak berbeza.

SEKOLAH-SEKOLAH YANG MENAWARKAN KEDUA-DUA PROGRAM BERSEPADU (IP) DAN PERINGKAT ‘O’

3.2 Sekolah-sekolah berikut menawarkan kedua-dua Program Bersepadu (IP) dan Peperiksaan Sijil Am (GCE) Peringkat Biasa (‘O’). Jika anak anda berminat dalam kedua–dua IP dan Program Peringkat ‘O’ yang ditawarkan oleh sekolah yang sama, anak anda dikehendaki menyatakan kod pilihan untuk kedua-dua program tersebut secara berasingan mengikut keutamaan. Jika anak anda menyatakan kod pilihan IP dari Sekolah A sahaja, anak anda tidak akan secara automatik dipertimbangkan untuk disalurkan ke Program Peringkat ‘O’

di Sekolah A, dan sebaliknya. Untuk mendapatkan maklumat lanjut tentang sekolah kerabat, lihat perenggan 6.1e.

SEKOLAH-SEKOLAH KHUSUS BAGI NORMAL (TEKNIKAL)

3.3 Terdapat dua Sekolah Khusus untuk pelajar Normal (Teknikal) (SSNT), iaitu Sekolah Menengah Crest (CSS) dan Sekolah Menengah Spectra (SSS) (lihat Rujukan J). Jika anak anda berminat untuk mendaftarkan diri ke CSS atau SSS, anak anda harus memohon secara

langsung ke sekolah tersebut selepas pengumuman keputusan PSLE.

3.4 Murid masih perlu mengambil bahagian dalam Penempatan S1 untuk memilih sekolah pilihan mereka. Jika berjaya mendapat tempat di CSS atau SSS, anak anda akan dimaklumkan oleh sekolah SSNT tersebut dan anak anda tidak akan ditempatkan di sekolah yang lain di bawah Penempatan S1. Jika tidak berjaya, anak anda akan ditempatkan di sekolah menengah di bawah Penempatan S1.

SEKOLAH SUKAN SINGAPURA

3.5 Jika anak anda telah menerima tawaran dari Sekolah Sukan Singapura (SSP), anak anda masih perlu mengambil bahagian dalam Penempatan S1 dan menghantar senarai sekolah-sekolah yang dipilih olehnya. Melalui proses tersebut, anak anda akan ditempatkan di sebuah sekolah menengah.

3.6 Setelah menerima keputusan penempatan S1, anak anda perlu melaporkan diri ke sekolah yang ditempatkan untuk membuat permohonan pertukaran sekolah secara rasmi ke SSP. Jika terdapat hal yang menyebabkan anak anda tidak dapat meneruskan pelajaran di SSP, anak anda boleh memohon untuk ditempatkan semula ke sekolah yang ditempatkan. ini akan memudahkan anak anda memasuki sekolah menengah aliran utama semula berdasarkan sekolah yang telah ditempatkan menerusi permohonan dalam

Penempatan S1, sekiranya mereka perlu meninggalkan SSP.

4 KURSUS

4.1 Jika anak anda layak untuk ke sekolah menengah, anak anda akan ditempatkan ke dalam salah satu kursus berdasarkan keputusan mereka: Ekspres, Normal (Akademik) [N(A)] dan Normal (Teknikal) [N(T)]. Pelajar perlu menyatakan kursus yang dicenderungi sekiranya markah mereka termasuk dalam lingkungan band pilihan. Jika anak anda tidak membuat pilihan, anak anda akan ditempatkan ke dalam kursus yang lebih mencabar dari segi akademik secara langsung. Untuk mendapatkan maklumat lanjut tentang band pilihan, rujuk perenggan 7.3a.

5 DSA-SEC – KEPUTUSAN PENEMPATAN SEKOLAH

5.1 Pelajar yang telah menyertai permohonan melalui DSA-Sec akan menerima keputusan penempatan sekolah DSA-Sec bersama keputusan PSLE.

PENEMPATAN DSA-SEC YANG BERJAYA

5.2 Pelajar yang berjaya mendapat tempat di sekolah menengah melalui DSA-Sec tidak akan dibenarkan untuk membuat sebarang pilihan sekolah semasa Tempoh Penyerahan Pilihan Sekolah. Mereka juga tidak dibenarkan untuk berpindah sekolah selepas pengumuman keputusan peperiksaan PSLE kerana mereka harus menghormati perjanjian dengan sekolah DSA-Sec sepanjang tempoh program tersebut.

5.3 Jika anak anda tergolong dalam kumpulan yang boleh memilih antara kursus Ekspres/N(A) atau N(A)/N(T), anak anda perlu menyatakan kursus pilihan mereka. Pelajar yang layak untuk memilih Bahasa Ketiga juga perlu menyatakan pilihan mereka. Pilihan Kursus dan Bahasa Ketiga perlu diberikan semasa Tempoh Penyerahan Pilihan Sekolah melalui S1-IS atau melalui sekolah rendah.

5.4 Pelajar yang berjaya dalam permohonan ke sekolah DSA-Sec mesti melaporkan diri ke sekolah tersebut pada hari bekerja berikutnya selepas keputusan penempatan diumumkan pada lewat Disember. Sila rujuk perenggan 10.3.

PENEMPATAN DSA-SEC YANG TIDAK BERJAYA

5.5 Jika anak anda tidak berjaya mendapatkan tempat di sekolah menengah melalui DSA-Sec, anak anda perlu menyatakan pilihan sekolah-sekolah mereka melalui S1-IS atau melalui sekolah rendah anak anda. Pilihan sekolah boleh termasuk sekolah yang tidak dapat menawarkan anak anda tempat di bawah permohonan melalui DSA-Sec.

6 PERTIMBANGAN KETIKA MEMILIH SEKOLAH DAN MEMBUAT PILIHAN S1

6.1 Terdapat pelbagai sekolah menengah yang boleh dipilih. Sekolah-sekolah tersebut mempunyai program-program yang unik disamping menawarkan laluan pembelajaran yang berbeza-beza. Program-program sekolah yang berbeza-beza ditawarkan untuk memaksimumkan potensi setiap pelajar. Anda digalakkan untuk berbincang dengan anak anda apabila membuat pemilihan sekolah. Pilihan sekolah haruslah mengambil kira keperluan, minat, kekuatan dan aspirasi anak anda, dan cara budaya, persekitaran, etos

serta program-program itu dapat menyokong pembangunan anak anda.

a. Keperluan, Minat, Kekuatan dan Aspirasi Anak Ada – Anda boleh mengambil kira kekuatan sesebuah sekolah dan membuat pilihan sekolah yang mempunyai etos, budaya dan persekitaran yang sesuai dan menyokong keperluan anak anda. Anda juga boleh menimbangkan sekolah yang menawarkan program-program (seperti program-program yang distingtif dan Kegiatan Kokurikulum yang ditawarkan) yang boleh memupuk kekuatan dan minat serta membangunkan potensi

anak anda.

Kami menggalakkan anda dan anak anda untuk membaca butiran terperinci mengenai sekolah-sekolah yang terdapat di dalam Buku Maklumat Sekolah-sekolah (lihat Rujukan K) atau melungsuri lelaman SchoolFinder di www.moe.gov.sg/schoolfinder-secondary (lihat Rujukan I). Anak anda boleh memilih untuk menyertai Aktiviti Kokurikulum Rakan kongsi Strategik (SP-CCA) untuk menggantikan CCA berasaskan sekolah. Untuk memenuhi keperluan yang pelbagai dan minat murid, MOE telah berganding bahu dengan SportsSG dan Majlis Kesenian Singapura (NAC) untuk melaksanakan CCA tidak berasaskan sekolah, iaitu SP-CCA. SP-CCA menyediakan peluang kepada pelajar sekolah menengah menyertai CCA yang tidak ditawarkan di sekolah mereka. b. Jarak - Anda boleh mempertimbangkan sekolah yang berdekatan dengan rumah anda (lihat Rujukan D untuk senarai sekolah mengikut kawasan; lihat Rujukan H untuk melihat sekolah-sekolah menengah yang berdekatan melalui SchoolQuery di www.onemap.sg).

c. Pilihan Kursus – Jika anak anda tergolong dalam band pilihan kursus Ekspres/N(A) atau N(A)/N(T), pilihan kursus tersebut akan digunakan bagi pemilihan kesemua sekolah. Anda harus menilai agregat PSLE yang diperoleh, sesuai dengan pencapaian biasa anak anda semasa memilih kursus tersebut. Untuk maklumat bagi pilihan kursus, lihat perenggan 7.3a.

d. Julat Agregat PSLE Sekolah bagi Tahun Sebelumnya - Julat agregat PSLE untuk sekolah-sekolah boleh didapati dalam Rujukan K. Julat agregat ini berdasarkan Julat agregat PSLE bagi tahun sebelumnya (contohnya Julat P6 2019) dan hanya boleh dijadikan sebagai panduan. Julat sebenar tahun ini boleh berubah dan bergantung pada keputusan PSLE para pelajar serta pemilihan sekolah mereka.

Penting: Julat agregat sekolah dan mata pemotongan adalah berdasarkan keputusan PSLE pada tahun sebelumnya dan mungkin berbeza untuk tahun ini. Oleh sebab mata tersebut berubah setiap tahun, mata tersebut harus dijadikan sebagai panduan sahaja.

e. Sekolah-sekolah Kerabat - Pelajar yang ingin meneruskan pendidikan di sekolah menengah kerabat mesti menyatakan sekolah tersebut sebagai pilihan pertama. Namun demikian, keutamaan yang diberikan bagi kemasukan ke sekolah menengah kerabat tidak menjamin kemasukan kerana kemasukan tertakluk kepada tempat yang ada serta kriteria kelayakan tambahan yang ditetapkan oleh sekolah menengah tersebut.

Oleh sebab penting bagi semua sekolah menengah dapat diakses dengan mudah oleh semua pelajar tidak kira latar belakang dan hubungan, sekurang-kurangnya 20% tempat bagi setiap kursus (iaitu, Ekspres/N(A)/N(T) akan disediakan untuk pelajar-pelajar yang tidak mendapat keutamaan sekolah kerabat.

Bagi sekolah-sekolah dwilaluan yang menawarkan IP dan Program Peringkat ‘O’, pertimbangan-pertimbangan kekerabatan akan hanya diberikan kepada Program Peringkat ‘O’. Kekerabatan akan diiktiraf untuk Program peringkat ‘O’ walaupun pelajar menyatakan IP sekolah kerabat dwilaluan sebagai pilihan pertama dan program peringkat ‘O’ dwilaluan sebagai pilihan kedua.

f. Sekolah-sekolah Pelan Bantuan Khas (SAP) – Sekolah-sekolah SAP bertujuan untuk menyampaikan pendidikan dwibahasa dan dwibudaya, berdasarkan pendidikan nasional yang utuh dan etos sekolah melalui persekitaran pembelajaran yang menekankan budaya dan bahasa Cina. Jika anak anda telah mengambil kedua-dua mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggeris dan Bahasa Cina semasa di peringkat PSLE, anak anda boleh memilih untuk menyertai sekolah SAP semasa permohonan sewaktu Penempatan S1 dijalankan. Jika anak anda ditempatkan di sekolah-sekolah menengah SAP, anak anda harus mengambil mata pelajaran Bahasa Cina Lanjutan (atau Bahasa Cina, jika ada) untuk membolehkan anak anda menyertai program-program yang disediakan di sekolah-sekolah SAP dengan lebih bermakna (lihat Rujukan D untuk senarai sekolah-sekolah SAP).

g. Program/Skim yang Ditawarkan oleh Sekolah Menengah - Terdapat pelbagai program dan skim yang ditawarkan di sekolah menengah (misalnya, Bahasa Ketiga, Program Elektif Muzik, Program Elektif Seni, Subjek Gunaan). Sila rujuk buku “Pendidikan Sekolah Menengah” untuk maklumat lanjut mengenai program/skim ini dan Rujukan C untuk senarai sekolah yang menawarkan program tersebut.

Jika anak anda mengambil Bahasa Tamil (TL), anda boleh lihat Rujukan E bagi senarai sekolah-sekolah yang menawarkan TL dalam waktu kurikulum.

Jika anak anda layak untuk mengambil Bahasa Ibunda Lanjutan (HMTL) berdasarkan kelakonan dalam PSLE dan ingin mengambil HMTL di sekolah menengah, anda boleh menyertakan sekolah-sekolah yang menawarkan HMTL dalam pilihan sekolah menengah (lihat Rujukan B untuk senarai sekolah-sekolah/pusat-pusat yang ditetapkan dan Pusat-pusat Bahasa yang menawarkan HMTL yang tertentu).

h. Keperluan Pendidikan Khas – Kebanyakan sekolah menengah mampu menyokong pelajar-pelajar yang mempunyai keperluan pendidikan khas yang sederhana (SEN), contohnya, disleksia, Gangguan Hiperaktiviti [ADHD], Gangguan Spektrum Autistik [ASD] sederhana, hilang pendengaran dan kecacatan visual/fizikal. Pelajar dengan SEN yang sederhana mempunyai kebolehan kognitif dan kebolehan adaptif yang mencukupi untuk membolehkan mereka mengakses kurikulum nasional serta belajar dalam persekitaran yang luas. Kebanyakan sekolah menengah mempunyai sekurang-kurangnya seorang Pendidik Bersekutu (Sokongan Pembelajaran dan Tingkah Laku) yang mempunyai kemahiran yang mendalam untuk menyokong pelajar dengan SEN sederhana seperti yang telah dinyatakan di atas. Sekolah-sekolah juga mempunyai guru-guru yang terlatih dalam Keperluan Khas yang dilatih untuk merancang dan menggunakan strategi pengajaran yang berbeza untuk menyokong pelajar dengan SEN sederhana dan keperluan pembelajaran mereka yang berbeza-beza. Sekolah-sekolah juga bekerja rapat dengan agensi-agensi luar seperti khidmat REACH (Response, early Intervention and Assessment in Comunity Mental Health) bagi menyokong kanak-kanak yang menghadapi masalah emosi, sosial dan/atau tingkah laku seperti ADHD.

Pelajar-pelajar disleksia boleh disokong melalui program bersubsidi MOE, Program Literasi Utama yang dikendalikan oleh Persatuan Disleksia Singapura.

Pelajar yang hilang pendengaran, cacat penglihatan dan fizikal boleh menghubungi sekolah mereka untuk mendapat sokongan melalui: - Alat-alat teknologi bantu (AT) yang dibiayai MOE contohnya, sistem Modulasi

Frekuensi untuk hilang pendengaran, pembesar elektronik, pembaca braille, dan perisian pertuturan teks ke ucapan untuk mereka yang cacat visual dan perabot yang ditempah khas untuk mereka yang cacat fizikal.

- Khidmat sokongan bergerak berasaskan sekolah (ISS) yang disediakan oleh

AWWA Ltd dan Pertubuhan Cacat Pendengaran Singapura (SADeaf) bagi sokongan pembelajaran dan kemudahan.

Pelajar-pelajar yang mempunyai kehilangan pendengaran atau cacat penglihatan dari tahap sederhana hingga serius, yang berupaya untuk mengikuti kurikulum aliran utama, boleh menghadiri sekolah aliran utama terpilih yang menyediakan sokongan seperti guru-guru khusus terlatih untuk mengajar pelajar-pelajar yang mempunyai keperluan khas.

Sekolah-sekolah yang mempunyai akses tanpa halangan untuk pelajar-pelajar yang cacat fizikal terletak di bahagian-bahagian Singapura yang berbeza-beza untuk memberikan kemudahan kepada pelajar-pelajar tersebut mengakses sekolah-sekolah yang dipilih ini.

Jika anak anda memerlukan sokongan khas, ibu bapa perlu memastikan bahawa sekolah-sekolah yang sesuai disertakan dalam pemilihan sekolah (lihat Rujukan F untuk senarai sekolah-sekolah dengan AEDs(LBS)), sekolah-sekolah yang ditetapkan dan sekolah-sekolah dengan akses tanpa halangan) atau melungsuri lelaman SchoolFinder di

www.moe.gov.sg/schoolfinder-secondary (Anda boleh merujuk kepada Rujukan I untuk panduan menggunakan

MEMBUAT PILIHAN SEMASA TEMPOH PENYERAHAN BORANG PEMILIHAN SEKOLAH

6.2 Anda harus berbincang dengan anak anda dan memilih enam buah sekolah mengikut

urutan pilihan yg diutamakan. Ketika memilih sekolah-sekolah, anda harus:

a. Diingatkan pertimbangan yang terdapat di perenggan 6.1 diambil kira.

b. Gunakan semua enam pilihan sekolah yang diberikan. Ini akan memberikan peluang

yang lebih baik untuk ditempatkan di salah satu pilihan sekolah anak anda. Jika anak anda tidak disenaraikan dalam salah satu daripada enam pilihan sekolah itu, mereka

akan ditawarkan sekolah yang berdekatan dengan rumah anda.

c. Ambil kira keputusan skor PSLE anak anda dengan skor kelayakan bagi kursus-kursus yang bakal dipilih – cth. Ekspres, N(A) atau N(T). Hal ini kerana agregat PSLE hanya merupakan indikasi pencapaian kohort para pelajar yang lalu dengan pilihan sekolah yang lalu. Anda harus memilih sekurang-kurangnya dua pilihan sekolah dengan garis kemasukan (cut-off point) sekurang-kurangnya lima mata di bawah skor PSLE anak anda bagi memberikan peluang yang lebih baik untuk disenaraikan dalam salah satu sekolah pilihannya.

7 PENERIMAAN BORANG PILIHAN S1 DAN SURAT KELAYAKAN

BORANG PILIHAN S1

7.1 Pelajar P6 dari sekolah rendah aliran utama MOE yang layak ke sekolah menengah juga akan menerima Borang Pilihan S1 peribadi setiap seorang (lihat Rujukan A untuk contoh) pada hari pengumuman keputusan PSLE. Keputusan bagi mereka yang berjaya dalam

permohonan melalui DSA-Sec akan diberitahu melalui Borang Pilihan S1 peribadi.

7.2 Borang S1 dalam sampul surat yang berpelekat mengandungi kata laluan yang unik (PIN S1) untuk anda menyatakan pilihan S1 anak anda melalui S1-IS. PIN S1 boleh didapatkan di sudut atas bahagian kanan borang itu. Sampul surat yang mengandungi Borang Pilihan S1 perlulah dipastikan terlekat apabila menerimanya. Sekiranya tidak, anda harus memaklumkan sekolah rendah anak anda dengan segera. Untuk mencegah sebarang akses

tanpa kebenaran di S1-IS, anda harus merahsiakan PIN S1 tersebut.

SURAT KELAYAKAN

7.3 Pelajar akan diberitahu tentang kelayakan mereka melalui Surat Kelayakan peribadi. Begitu juga dengan pelajar-pelajar yang berjaya dalam DSA-Sec. Surat Kelayakan ini

dilampirkan bersama Borang Pilihan S1 dalam sampul surat yang berpelekat.

a. Ekspres/N(A) dan N(A)/N(T) - Pelajar yang hanya memenuhi agregat kelayakan PSLE untuk ke kursus Ekspres atau N(A), akan diberi pilihan untuk memilih kursus berdasarkan kebolehan akademik mereka. Kursus pilihan akan digunakan untuk semua sekolah menengah yang telah dipilih oleh anak anda. Jika tiada pilihan yang dibuat, anak anda akan disalurkan kepada kursus yang lebih mencabar cth. kursus Ekspres bagi band pilihan Ekspres/N(A) dan kursus N(A) bagi band pilihan N(A)/N(T).

b. Mata Bonus untuk Memasuki Sekolah Rancangan Bantuan Khas (SAP) - Jika anak anda dalam kumpulan 30% teratas kohort PSLE yang mengambil Bahasa Cina Lanjutan di peringkat PSLE, anak anda akan diberikan mata bonus untuk memasuki sekolah SAP

mengikut jadual berikut:

c. Bahasa Ibunda Lanjutan (HMTL) – Pelajar layak untuk mengambil HMTL (iaitu Bahasa Cina Lanjutan/Bahasa Melayu Lanjutan/Bahasa Tamil Lanjutan) mulai S1 jika mereka pernah mengambil MTL atau HMTL di peringkat PSLE dan berada dalam

▪ 10% teratas kohort PSLE; atau

▪ 11% - 30% teratas kohort PSLE dan memenuhi kriteria bahasa, iaitu gred A* dalam MTL atau sekurang-kurangnya Merit dalam HTML.

Jika anak anda layak dan berminat anak anda boleh memohon untuk mengambil HMTL apabila mereka melaporkan diri ke sekolah menengah mereka pada lewat Disember. Mereka akan menghadiri pelajaran HMTL di sekolah mereka jika sekolah tersebut menawarkan kursus tersebut, atau di pusat-pusat yang ditetapkan jika sekolah tersebut tidak menawarkannya (lihat Rujukan B untuk senarai sekolah-

sekolah dan pusat-pusat yang menawarkan HMTL).

[Maklumat Tambahan: Jika anak anda memperoleh gred A1 hingga C6 bagi Bahasa Inggeris dan HMTL dalam Peperiksaan GCE Peringkat ’O’ dan layak untuk masuk ke sebuah Maktab Rendah (JC)/Institut Millennia (MI), mereka akan diberi konsesi dua mata dalam permohonannya ke JC/MI pilihan dalam permohonan melalui Kemasukan Bersama (JAE).]

d. Bahasa Ketiga –Sesetengah pelajar mungkin layak untuk mengambil Bahasa Ketiga, iaitu Bahasa Cina (Program Khas) [CSP]/Bahasa Melayu (Program Khas) [MSP]/Bahasa Indonesia (BI)/Bahasa Arab/Bahasa Perancis/Bahasa Jerman/Bahasa Jepun/Bahasa Sepanyol di peringkat S1. Jika anak anda layak dan berminat, anak anda harus menggunakan pilihan Bahasa Ketiga mereka melalui S1-IS atau sekolah rendah masing-masing. Jika bilangan pelajar yang memohon melebihi jumlah tempat yang ditawarkan, pemilihan akan dilakukan berdasarkan keputusan PSLE pelajar (lihat Rujukan C bagi senarai sekolah-sekolah dan pusat-pusat yang menawarkan Bahasa Ketiga). Keputusan tawaran Bahasa Ketiga akan dimaklumkan melalui sekolah yang telah ditempatkan kepada mereka pada lewat bulan Disember kelak.

[Maklumat Tambahan: Jika anak anda memperoleh gred A1 hingga C6 bagi CSP/MSP/BI dalam Peperiksaan GCE Peringkat ‘O’ dan layak untuk memasuki JC/MI, anak anda akan diberi konsesi dua mata dalam permohonannya ke JC/MI pilihan melalui JAE. Jika anak anda mengambil CSP/MSP/BI dalam Peperiksaan GCE Peringkat ‘O’, anak anda akan dibenarkan untuk menggunakan gred CSP/MSP/BI untuk menggantikan gred subjek Kemanusiaan bagi kemasukan ke JC/MI.]

e. Biasiswa Edusave untuk Sekolah-sekolah Bebas (ESIS) - Jika anak anda merupakan Warga Singapura dan memenuhi syarat-syarat akademik berdasarkan keputusan PSLE, mereka akan ditawarkan ESIS jika mereka berjaya masuk ke Sekolah Bebas (IS) di peringkat S1. Tawaran ini juga bagi pelajar yang berjaya masuk ke IS melalui DSA_Sec. f. Biasiswa UPLIFT – Jika anak anda merupakan warganegara Singapura dan ditempatkan di Sekolah Bebas (IS) melalui DSA-Sec atau layak ke ESIS dan memenuhi kriteria pendapatan keluarga, anak anda layak untuk mendapat Biasiswa UPLIFT. Keterangan lanjut boleh didapatkan di

8 PENYERAHAN PILIHAN-PILIHAN SEKOLAH DAN PILIHAN-PILIHAN S1

8.1 Anda boleh menghantar Pilihan S1 anak anda melalui S1-IS atau melalui sekolah rendah anak anda semasa Tempoh Penyerahan Pilihan Sekolah. Sila rujuk tarikh-tarikh penting

(tentatif) di Bahagian 1.

8.2 Anda dinasihatkan supaya menyatakan kesemua enam pilihan sekolah menengah mengikut

urutan pilihan yang diutamakan.

8.3 Anda dinasihatkan supaya melengkapkan Borang Pilihan S1 anak anda dahulu dengan menyatakan pilihan sekolah menengah dan pilihan kelayakan, mana-mana yang sesuai,

sebelum menghantar borang tersebut.

PENYERAHAN DALAM TALIAN MELALUI S1-IS

8.4 Anda boleh menghantar Pilihan S1 anak anda melalui S1-IS yang boleh diakses di lelaman web MOE di www.moe.gov.sg/s1-posting, semasa Tempoh Penyerahan Pilihan Sekolah (lihat Rujukan G untuk panduan langkah-demi-langkah mengenai penggunaan S1-IS). PIN S1 boleh diperoleh di bahagian atas sebelah kanan Borang Pilihan S1 persendirian anak anda.

8.5 Anda dinasihatkan supaya mencetak dan menyimpan salinan Slip Pengesahan (VS) selepas menghantar pilihan S1 anak anda di S1-IS. Jika anda tidak dapat melihat VS tersebut, pilihan S1 anak anda mungkin belum dihantar. Anda harus log masuk S1-IS sekali lagi untuk

mengesahkan status penyerahan anda.

PENYERAHAN SECARA PERIBADI MELALUI SEKOLAH RENDAH

8.6 Anda boleh menghubungi sekolah rendah anak anda dan meminta bantuan pihak sekolah untuk menghantar Pilihan S1 semasa Tempoh Penyerahan Pilihan Sekolah.

8.7 Kakitangan sekolah akan memasukkan pilihan S1 ke dalam S1-IS dan memberikan Slip Pengesahan (VS) kepada anda. Anda harus memeriksa VS tersebut bagi memastikan bahawa pilihan-pilihan S1 yang dimasukkan adalah betul dan memaklumkan kakitangan sekolah dengan segera jika terdapat sebarang kesilapan. Anda atau proksi anda perlu

menandatangani VS tersebut selepas memeriksanya dan menyimpan salinan VS tersebut.

BAHAGIAN III: PENEMPATAN SEKOLAH DAN PENERIMAAN KEPUTUSAN PENEMPATAN SEKOLAH

9 PENEMPATAN SEKOLAH

9.1 Bagaimanakah anak anda akan ditempatkan?

Penempatan pelajar ke sekolah menengah adalah berdasarkan merit mengikut aturan pilihan mereka. Pelajar yang mendapat skor agregat yang lebih baik dalam PSLE akan diberi keutamaan dalam kemasukan ke sesebuah sekolah bergantung pada jumlah tempat kosong yang terdapat di sekolah yang dipilih. Jika tidak ada tempat lagi, pelajar tersebut

akan dipertimbangkan bagi kemasukan ke sekolah pilihan seterusnya.

9.2 Apakah yang akan berlaku jika dua orang pelajar mempunyai skor yang sama?

Sekiranya terdapat dua atau lebih pelajar yang mempunyai skor agregat yang sama untuk dimasukkan ke tempat terakhir di sesebuah sekolah, mereka akan dipilih berdasarkan status kewarganegaraan (iaitu Warga Singapura, kemudian Penduduk Tetap Singapura, barulah Pelajar Antarabangsa). Sekiranya berlaku kedudukan yang sama, antara dua warga Singapura yang mempunyai skor agregat yang sama, kemasukan calon akan ditentukan melalui pengundian komputer untuk memastikan bahawa setiap pelajar

mendapat peluang yang sama rata.

9.3 Adakah susunan sekolah-sekolah yang dipilih penting untuk menentukan penempatan sekolah jika terdapat skor yang sama?

Bagi kohort P6 2020, pilihan senarai sekolah yang dipilih tidak menjamin keutamaan pilihan itu apabila keputusan dibuat bagi penempatan sekolah. Contohnya, John dan Mary merupakan warganegara Singapura, memperoleh skor agregat yang sama, dan membuat pilihan terakhir di Sekolah A. Walaupun John membuat pilihan pertama di sekolah A, dia tidak mendapat keutamaan bagi penempatan sekolah berbanding Mary yang memilih

Sekolah A sebagai pilihan ketiganya. Dalam hal ini, penempatan tersebut ditentukan oleh undian komputer yang mana setiap murid diberikan peluang yang sama rata.

9.4 Apakah yang akan berlaku jika anak anda tidak ditempatkan di sebarang sekolah pilihannya?

Jika anak anda gagal untuk mendapat tempat di mana-mana sekolah pilihannya, anak anda akan ditempatkan di sekolah yang masih mempunyai tempat kosong yang berdekatan dengan rumah anda. Jika anda telah menukar alamat rasmi tempat tinggal dalam NRIC, anda dinasihatkan supaya memaklumkan alamat baharu anda kepada sekolah rendah anak

anda selewat-lewatnya pada bulan Oktober.

10 PENERIMAAN KEPUTUSAN PENEMPATAN SEKOLAH

10.1 Anda akan menerima keputusan penempatan sekolah yang akan dimaklumkan pada lewat Disember. Anda boleh merujuk tarikh-tarikh penting (tentatif) yang disediakan di

Bahagian 1.

10.2 Anda boleh menyemak keputusan penempatan melalui sebarang saluran berikut:

a. Khidmat Pesanan Ringkas (SMS) melalui nombor telefon bimbit tempatan pemohon (jika diberikan oleh pemohon semasa Tempoh Penyerahan Pilihan Sekolah)

b. S1-1S (www.moe.gov.sg/s1-posting) dengan menggunakan nombor Sijil kelahiran anak anda atau FIN dan nombor PIN S1 bagi senarai penyerahan pilihan sekolah

c. Sekolah rendah anak anda

MELAPORKAN DIRI DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH BAGI PENDAFTARAN

10.3 Anak anda harus melaporkan diri ke sekolah menengah yang ditempatkan pada hari bekerja berikutnya setelah keputusan penempatan sekolah diumumkan. Apabila melaporkan diri ke sekolah menengah itu untuk pendaftaran, anak anda harus berpakaian

seragam sekolah rendah mereka dan membawa bersama dokumen yang berikut:

a. Kad Pelajar

b. Slip Keputusan PSLE

c. Buku Laporan Sekolah Rendah

10.4 Anda digalakkan untuk melayari lelaman sekolah menengah tersebut untuk mendapatkan maklumat lanjut tentang aktiviti kenal suai bagi pelajar dan ibu bapa, dan maklumat-maklumat lain seperti cara anda boleh membeli pakaian seragam sekolah dan buku-buku sekolah.

11 RAYUAN BAGI PEMINDAHAN SEKOLAH SELEPAS PENEMPATAN S1

11.1 Dalam kes tertentu, MOE akan mempertimbangkan rayuan bagi pemindahan sekolah hanya selepas Penempatan S1. Pemindahan tersebut akan hanya dipertimbangkan bagi pelajar-

pelajar yang mempunyai:

a. Masalah perubatan yang serius (misalnya penyakit jantung yang kronik, masalah ginjal)

b. Kecacatan fizikal yang serius (misalnya menggunakan kerusi roda sepenuhnya)

11.2 Pelajar yang ingin membuat rayuan pemindahan sekolah masih perlu melaporkan diri terlebih dahulu di sekolah menengah yang telah ditempatkan untuk mereka pada hari bekerja yang berikut setelah pengumuman keputusan penempatan dan boleh memohon bagi pertukaran sekolah melalui sekolah tersebut. Semua permohonan mesti diiringi

dengan dokumen-dokumen sokongan yang relevan.

11.3 Keputusan rayuan akan hanya dimaklumkan kepada pemohon pada awal Januari melalui sekolah menengah yang telah ditempatkan untuk anak anda. Pemohon harus terus menghadiri kelas di sekolah yang ditempatkan untuk mereka sementara menunggu

keputusan rayuan.

11.4 Jika anda ingin memindahkan anak anda ke sekolah lain atas dasar sebab yang tidak

dinyatakan dalam 11.1, anda boleh meminta bantuan dari sekolah yang dipilih secara langsung. Harap maklum bahawa skor agregat PSLE anak anda harus menepati pemotongan mata bagi tahun tersebut. Pemindahan sekolah hanya boleh berlaku jika terdapat tempat kosong di sekolah tersebut dan anak anda memenuhi kriteria yang ditentukan oleh sekolah itu.

REPORT TO SECONDARY SCHOOL FOR REGISTRATION

10.3 Your child should report to their posted secondary school on the next working day after the release of the school posting results. When reporting to the secondary school for registration, your child should wear their primary school uniform and bring along the following:

a. Student card

b. PSLE result slip

c. Primary School Report Book

10.4 You are encouraged to check the school’s website for more information on their familiarisation activities for students and parents, and also other instructions for the new school term such as how you can purchase new uniforms and textbooks for your child.

11 APPEAL FOR TRANSFER AFTER S1 POSTING

11.1 MOE will consider appeals for school transfer only for exceptional cases. Such transfers will only be considered for students with:

a. Serious medical conditions (e.g. chronic heart conditions, kidney problems)

b. Severe physical impairments (e.g. those requiring permanent use of a wheelchair)

11.2 Students who wish to appeal for transfer must still report at the posted secondary school on the next working day after the release of school posting results, and apply for school transfer there. All applications must be accompanied with the relevant supporting documents.

11.3 The appeal results will only be made known to applicants in early January through the posted secondary school. Applicants should continue to attend lessons at their posted school while waiting for the appeal results.

11.4 If you are seeking a transfer due to reasons other than those in 11.1, you may approach the school of choice directly. Do note that your child’s PSLE aggregate score should meet the school’s cut-off point of the posting year. Transfers will be subject to available vacancies and meeting the school-based criteria.

SCHOOLS AND CENTRES OFFERING HIGHER MOTHER TONGUE

The following table lists the schools and designated centres that offer Higher Mother Tongue Language [HMTL, i.e. Higher Chinese Language (HCL), Higher Malay Language (HML) and Higher Tamil Language (HTL)].

Students taking HMTL will attend lessons at their own secondary school during curriculum time, if the school offers it (schools denoted by “√” and “#” in table below). Otherwise, they will attend lessons in a designated centre outside curriculum time (schools denoted by “#” are the designated centres).

Secondary schools have the flexibility to allow students who do not meet the criteria to take up HMTL to do so, if such students are assessed to have exceptional ability in MTL and are able to do HMTL without affecting their performance in other subjects.

For Independent Schools, parents should refer to the individual school pages in Reference K or contact the schools directly for information on school-based programmes/ subjects that they might be offering.

3.2 Fill in Third Language choices in the order of preference by entering the respective 2-digit language codes if the student is eligible and interested to take up a Third Language. (Successful DSA applicants, who do not wish to take up Third Language, need not take further action.)

3.3 Select a course if the student is eligible. The chosen course will apply to all the secondary school choices opted.

3.4 Click on the <Next> button to proceed with the submission. The Verify Information Page will appear next.

3.5 You are advised to complete this step within 10 minutes, otherwise you will be automatically logged out from the system. To access the system, you will have to login again.

2 MAKING AMENDMENTS TO SUBMITTED S1 OPTIONS

Three amendments to the submitted school choices and/or eligibility (if any) are allowed before the end of the School Choice Submission Period. You and your child are advised to consider the options carefully before submission.

STEP 6: VERIFICATION SLIP PAGE (MAKING AMENDMENT) (refer to Figure 6) 6.1 Upon login, Verification Slip Page will appear.

6.2 Click on the <Amend> button to make changes to the previously submitted options. The Personal Particulars Page with the previous submitted information will re-appear.

6.3 Follow Steps 2-5 to amend and submit the revised options.

6.2 Click on the <Amend> button to make changes to the previously submitted options. The Personal Particulars Page with the previous submitted information will re-appear.

STEP 7: S1-IS LOGIN PAGE (refer to Figure 7) 7.1 Enter the website at www.moe.gov.sg/s1-posting and click on the S1-IS link. The

S1-IS Login Page will appear next.

7.2 Enter the student’s BC Number or FIN and the S1 PIN which can be found in S1 Option Form issued during School Choice Submission Period.

7.3 Click on the <Login> button to access S1-IS to view school posting result. The Posting Result Slip Page will appear next.

Underlying Montfort Secondary School's teaching and learning approach is the belief that boys learn better when we adopt Boy-Centric Teaching (BCT) strategies. Translated into classroom delivery, this would mean that teachers now incorporate novelty, movement and relevance into their lessons. The Applied Learning Programme (ALP) in Information Systems Technology & Design aims to provide our students with foundational skills in this frontier learning domain. The development of leadership and character is another vital part of our Montfortian Education. We do this through our flagship Montfortian Values Plus (MVP) programme and supported by a tiered Values-in-Action Programme for our boys from Sec 1 to 5. The school offers 'Critical Thinking' and 'Effective Communication' through our Applied Learning Programme of Media Literacy (MeLIT). MeLIT is a three-year programme to develop students' information management skills such as evaluating and interpreting information sources, and to deliver specific messages through the creation of media products with close integration to English and Humanities. The school's Learning for Life Programme is STAR (Sportsmanship, Teamwork And Resilience) where students develop these values through physical activities such as sports and outdoor adventure camps. Westwood offers two distinctive programmes. Through our Applied Learning Programme on Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship (ISE), students will develop specialised knowledge of innovation and entrepreneurship that will enable them to make effective contributions to the community. The school offers 'Critical Thinking' and 'Effective Communication' through our Applied Learning Programme of Media Literacy (MeLIT). MeLIT is a three-year programme to develop students' information management skills such as evaluating and interpreting information sources, and to deliver specific messages through the creation of media products with close integration to English and Humanities.
