Faith Formation students will attend the Nov. 1st Mass (adults may want to attend Oct. 31st Mass). TRICKS OR TREATS AVAILABLE AFTER MASSES!! ALL SOULS: We will have a 6:45pm Mass at St. Bernard on All Souls for both parishes with refresh-ments following.

Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord…. Thus he made atonement for the dead that they might be absolved from their sin. 2 Macc. 2:46

Dear Parishioners,

Every November we remember our faithful departed brothers & sisters. We REJOICE EXULTANTLY with those who are completely with God in His King-dom (November 1st All Saints). We PRAY for those who are still being perfected in love in purgatory (November 2nd All Souls).

God LOVES us. LOVE is our origin, our way of life and our fulfillment at the end of life. God created us in LOVE. In Jesus, God saved us in LOVE. In the Holy Spirit God is working to sanctify (perfect) us in LOVE.

I believe it is God’s will that this November we have the opportunity to come together as His family to pray for our faithfully departed who are in purgatory. There-fore, I encourage all of us to come early to Sunday Mass in November to pray for this intention. Those is purgatory are assured of salvation (and therefore are Holy Souls) while at the same time they also need prayers and sacrifices offered on their behalf to be pu-rified of all that is not love within them (and therefore they are Poor Souls—in need of our help).

For some time now we have had Eucharistic Adoration 30 minutes before the start of daily Masses on Tues-day, Wednesday and Friday. If you know anyone who attends daily Mass ask them if they have had the op-portunity to come early for adoration and ask them what they think of it. Parishioners present for adora-tion have described it as “peaceful” and “refreshing.” They look forward to it and sense a bond of communi-ty in silently praying together with their fellow parish-ioners in the Presence of the One who LOVES US—Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

So, in November we will have Eucharistic Adoration beginning 45 minutes before Saturday evening Masses and 30 minutes before Sunday morning Masses. PLEASE NOTE THE PRAYER RESOURCES IN-SERTED IN TODAY’S BULLETIN to assist us in prayer. Please feel free to bring these along with you as an aid to prayer during our adoration before Mass.

“One cannot know the Lord without the habit of adoring, of adoring in silence…I believe — if I am not mistaken — that this prayer of adoration is the least known among us; it is the one we en-gage in the least.” Pope Francis

God LOVES us—let’s LOVE Him!

Office Update You may have seen a new face if you have visited the offices recently. We have a new Bookkeep-er. Our original hire, Cathy Amundson, decided this was not a good fit for her and left in mid-August. We went back to our candidate pool and hired Sarah Smith. Sarah has many years of bookkeeping experience helping her husband Russ with the Smith Oil and Napa store operation. Sarah and Russ have 4 school-age children. She will be working at both offices like the rest of the staff members. Please welcome Sarah to our parishes.

World Mission Sunday Thank you Thank you for expressing your missionary spirit by offering gifts of support during World Mission Sunday. Our Parish collected $290.16 to help bring good news to small, young and often poor mission diocese worldwide—Mission of the Little Flock.
