Prayer for Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most
Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire to receive you
in my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you
sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite
myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you.

Dear brothers and Sisters in Christ, In the midst of this pandemic which has upset the normal routine of our lives; we are now
dealing with the destruction of property and lives. The unfortunate death of a man has unleashed violence and terror in our cities. This response to the tragedy of someone’s death is not the answer to the problem. Violence only creates more violence. Lawlessness only brings about hurt and harm to
everyone. What we must do now is pull together and respect the law of our land. What the world needs now is love, sweet love. Pray for Peace!

Act of Spiritual Communion It has been a Catholic understanding that when circumstances prevent one from receiving Holy
Communion, it is possible to make an Act of Spiritual Communion, which is a source of grace. Spiritual
Communion is an ardent desire to receive Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament and lovingly embrace Him at a
time or in circumstances when one cannot receive Him in sacramental Communion. The most common reason for making an Act of Spiritual Communion is when a person cannot attend Mass. Acts of Spiritual
Communion increase our desire to receive sacramental Communion and help us avoid the sins that would
make us unable to receive Holy Communion worthily.

The Most Holy Trinity
June 7, 2020
“God so love the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” (Gospel of St. John 3:16)
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Today we celebrate the central mystery of our faith, the distinctively Christian truth that God is a trinity of persons (three persons in one, the Holy Trinity). Other religions believe in God; only
Christians believe that God is one in three persons. The first thing we were taught about our religion was probably the Sign of the Cross; God the
Father, the Creator; God the Son, the Redeemer; God the Holy Spirit, the Sanctifier. After God the Father created all things, He created His children in His own image and likeness:
“God created man in his image; in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and God said to them: Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. Have
dominion over the fish and the sea, the birds of the air, and all the living things that crawl on the earth.” (Genesis 1:27-28)
Life was perfect. There was no sickness, no anger, no hatred, no violence, no prejudice, and no death. Then Adam and Eve disobeyed God and sin entered into the world and ended the paradise that
existed. What will God do? Destroy what He created, or renew creation? So God gave His only Son, Jesus, to the world to restore what He created out of love. Jesus Christ taught us how to live as God’s
children; how to love God and one another. He came to die for the sins of all. He sacrificed his life on the cross so that we might have eternal life. Jesus left us His own self as food to strengthen us and unite us with Him. Jesus promised when He ascended into heaven that He would send us a helper, who would
remind us of all that He said and did. The Holy Spirit, dwelling within us, draws us into a spiritual fellowship called the Church and endows us with strengths and gifts to follow Christ.
God is very close to you and me. We meet God in the created world that we experience each day. We meet the same God in the Church and it’s sacramental life to bring us Christ’s cleansing, saving power. We meet the same God in the depths of our soul in the Holy Spirit. God is present in creation, on
the cross, and in our hearts. All our love and prayers, your brother priests, deacon, and parish staff.
