IntroductionAlong with making up parts of names, I’ve blended names from different renditions and interpretations of the Cinderella story.
Meet the residents of Fairy Tale Land (AKA: Sunset Valley):
Fairy Godmother: Lucinda Faerytale (Adult)Traits: Good, Charismatic, Friendly, Cat Person, NurturingLTW: The Cat Herder
Lot Purchase: 100 Redwood ParkwayBuilt a house sufficient for Lucinda and her 2 cats.
I made Lucinda and her house first so I could save them as a group in the “Sim Bin” for placement later, as per the challenge instructions. I used the motherlode cheat once and Lucinda’s house is worth §47,826. I spent about 3 to 4 hours making Lucinda’s household and house.
Lucinda and her house are tucked safely away in the Sim Bin awaiting placement when Ella becomes a teenager.
King Francis Charming (Adult)Traits: Good, Charismatic, Friendly, Equestrian, Family-OrientedLTW: The Jockey
Queen Marie Charming (Adult)Traits: Good, Charismatic, Friendly, Good Sense of Humor, Family-OrientedLTW: Super Popular
Prince Char Charming (Toddler)Traits: Good, Friendly
Lot Purchase: 53 Waterfall Way (my favorite property in Sunset Valley -- isolated, out of the way, and located at the highest point of the town)I used the motherlode cheat five times and the Charming Castle house is worth §250,531. I spent about 6½ hours making the Charming household and house.
The Charming household is on their own now. Hopefully, Prince Char is allowed to go to the town school and doesn’t get sent off to boarding school. Also, here’s hoping the Charming family doesn’t decide to move out of their castle or (shudder) out of town...
Lord Auguste Montgomery (Adult)Traits: Neat, Family-Oriented, Friendly, Vegetarian, GoodLTW: Renaissance Sim
Lady Nicole Montgomery (Adult)Traits: Family-Oriented, Friendly, Good, Vegetarian, NurturingLTW: The Animal Rescuer
Ella [Cinderella] Montgomery (Toddler)Traits: Friendly, Loves the Outdoors
Lady Andriza Tremaine (Adult)Traits: Evil, No Sense of Humor, Couch Potato, Slob, DramaticLTW: Gold Digger
Anastasia Tremaine (Toddler)Traits: Evil, Slob
Drizella Tremaine (Toddler)Traits: Evil, Slob
In most of the stories of Cinderella that I have read, the step-mother and step-sisters were beautiful (except, of course, on the inside); it seems that Disney took creative license and made them as ugly on the outside as they were on the inside. I had a difficult time deciding between making them pretty or ugly. As to the final outcome: beauty is in the eye of the beholder…
I decided that Anastasia and Drizella would be identical twins and that Lady Tremaine would start the game as the Montgomery’s maid. This way, the children would age together and the true nature of the family line would be intact. This also presents a greater challenge for Ella to grow up “happy” as she is made to deal with the death of her mother as a toddler, the re-marriage of her father as a toddler, and then the death of her father as a child.
Also, until Ella is orphaned, she is dressed well and has no limits to where she can go in the house and what/who she can interact with.
Lot Purchase: 180 Redwood ParkwayI used the motherlode cheat five times and the Montgomery house is worth §251,986.I spent about 4½ hours making the Montgomery/Tremaine household and house.
Lord and Lady Montgomery have set up a play yard that rivals the best parks in town for when their precious Ella gets a little older…
Ella’s Future Quarters:
I spent exactly §10,000 on Ella’s future portion of the house. While Ella is a toddler, Lady Andriza and her twins will be living in this part of the house. Things will be moved around a little bit in order to cram two cribs into the small space, but once Ella is banished to this part of the house, everything will be put back into it’s proper place.
Everyone is placed, the stage is set, and now it is time for the story to unfold.
