biggest challenges currently facing the construction
industry.
Circular economy principles provides solutions for
material and energy reduction.
Steel is the perfect material for a circular economy: Light weight -> transport/ foundation saving
Durable/flexible/adaptable-> long functional life of building
Only building material with significant proven re-use and option for
upcycling
Innovations provides opportunities to further enhance
sustainability of buildings. Design for deconstruction (multi materials), including traceability
(material passports)
New business opportunities: Construction supply chain for re-use,
lease
Energy generation (Thermal /Electrical – PV)
