By default, the CSR 1000v boots with the following features: Cisco Application Experience (AX) Technology package features and 100-Kbps maximum throughput. The following trial configurations are available: IP Base Technology package, 10 Gbps SEC Technology package, 5 Gbps APP Technology package, 5 Gbps AX Technology package, 2.5 Gbps • 1000 broadband sessions 12 GB memory upgrade After the trial period ends, if you wish to keep using the product, you will need to purchase a license for your CSR 1000v from your Cisco account manager or through a Cisco reseller. Supported Platforms VMware ESXi (5.0, 5.1, 5.5) Citrix XenServer (6.0.2, 6.1, 6.2) RedHat KVM (RHEL 6.3, RHEV 3.1) Microsoft Hyper-V (for Windows Server 2012 R2) Amazon Web Services (AWS) Server Support Cisco UCS® servers or servers from leading vendors that support VMware ESXi, Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Hyper-V, or Red Hat KVM. Minimum server specifications are: Intel Nehalem or AMD Barcelona CPU with clock frequency of 2.0 GHz • Gigabit Ethernet interfaces CPU: 1 to 4 virtual CPUs (depending on the throughput and feature set) Memory: 2.5 to 4 GB (depending on the throughput and feature set) Disk Space: 8 GB Ethernet network interfaces: Three or more virtual network interface cards (vNICs), up to the maximum allowed by the hypervisor Licensing Your CSR 1000v After you have downloaded and installed your router, you will need to create the trial license: 1. Navigate to www.cisco.com/go/license and log in or create an account if you don’t have one. 2. On the Product License Registration page, select “Continue to Product License Registration.” 3. In the Get Other Licenses section, select “Demo and Evaluation.” 4. In the Product Family section, select “Routers & Switches.” In the Product section, select “Cisco Cloud Services Router 1000v.” Click Next. 5. Select the desired license type. Enter the UDI Serial number, then click Next to generate the license. You can display the UDI Serial number on your router by entering the “show license udi” command. The CSR 1000v is also manageable by Cisco Prime™ Infrastructure, the Cisco network management tool that manages Cisco IOS® devices such as Cisco integrated services routers (ISRs) and aggregation services routers (ASRs). For monitoring and troubleshooting, the CSR 1000v supports Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), syslog, and IP SLAs. Amazon Web Services Trial Amazon Web Services will allow customers to try one instance of the CSR 1000v for 30 days. There will be no hourly software charges for that instance, but AWS infrastructure charges will apply. Free trials will automatically convert to paid hourly subscriptions upon expiration.
