St. Margaret Mary will be par7cipa7ng in a parish survey about discipleship conducted by the
Catholic Leadership Ins7tute and we need your help!
Please help us by par6cipa6ng in a 10-15 minute survey online. The survey can be accessed at
www.disciplemakerindex.com beginning Saturday, January 20 and will ask you to
reflect on your own spiritual growth and enable you to provide feedback on our parish’s efforts
to help you grow. All responses will be confiden7al and the parish will only receive informa7on
about the community as whole.
We are trying to get the highest response rate possible. This informa6on will be invaluable to
Fr. Walsh and our various ministries as we plan for the future and strive to be the best disciples
we can be. We will receive the results this spring/summer at which 7me we will share what
we have learned with the en7re parish.
If you don’t use the computer - there will be opportuni7es to complete the survey aBer daily and
Sunday Mass and you can obtain a paper copy in the Parish office during the week, or by calling
the office at 407-647-3392.
Thank you for helping with this important project!
There will be a display of nativity scenes in the parish hall after all Masses on January 6 and 7, as part of our parish celebration of the feast of the Epiphany. This event is being
sponsored by the Haiti committee and will also include a bake sale and raffle.
Everyone is invited to contribute to the success of this event by bringing something to sell at the bake sale and/or by attending the event and
making a donation for our sister parish in Haiti.
Hours of the display are:
Saturday, January 6, 6:00 – 7:30 pm
Sunday, January 7, 9:00 am – 8:00 pm
Bake sale donations can be brought to the parish hall on Saturday, January 6, between 12 and 6 pm.
For more information contact Sandra Dooley [email protected] 407-902-3255

“God of love, Father of all, the darkness that covered the earth has given way to the bright dawn of your Word made
flesh. Make us a people of this light. Make us faithful to your Word, that we may bring your life to the wai.ng world.
Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen. (Mass During the Day, Sacramentary)
Special thanks to all liturgical ministers for being people of the light, bringing life to the wai6ng world and giving glory through your ministry to our God
Your sharing of this light is shown through the beau6ful environment, liturgies and welcoming atmosphere and wouldn’t be possible without the generous service of
Greeters, Ushers, Music Ministers, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Sacristans, Projec6on Ministers, Altar Linen Helpers, Plant Caretakers,
Altar Servers, and the Art/Environment Team. May God bless you during this Christmas season and throughout the coming year

Dona6ons being accepted January 4-14 (leave by the food pantry cart in the Parish Hall) Robert Half has partnered with the Orange County Bar Associa7on, Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Program, reaching out to the Central Florida community to par7cipate in a wonderful program and to help give back this holiday season. SMM, along with GAL is gathering gently used bicycles and tricycles of all shapes and sizes. Our hope is to make a direct impact by dona7ng the bikes and helmets to foster kids in need! The need is immense as there are over 1,300 children in foster care in Orange County, ranging in age from infancy to 21. Thinking about new bikes for your children for the holidays or perhaps have unused bikes siIng in your garage? Please consider dona7ng your bikes to our communi7es’ most-in-need children! These bikes will provide the children of the GAL Program with transporta7on, physical ac7vity, and sense of independence. Looking to par7cipate in another way? Monetary dona7ons will be used to purchase addi7onal helmets and bike locks to accompany the donated bikes. No maKer what size bike, we can ALWAYS find a home for it.

! "#$%&Day6me Session on Mondays, January 22 – March 12, 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. in An6och Room Evening Session on Tuesdays, January 23 – March 13, 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. in An6och Room Exploring Migra7on includes adult forma7on/discussion groups mee7ng in once weekly sessions over eight weeks. Each of us have feelings regarding immigra7on ranging from compassion to fear, but do we know enough about the issue to be truly mindful, prayerful and helpful regarding this seemingly intractable issue? As we prayerfully observe the Advent season, we should all bear in mind that Jesus was a migrant, too. His birth in a manger was as a migrant followed immediately by migra7ng to Egypt as Joseph, heeding the Word of God, took the Holy Family to escape the murderous reign of King Herod, sparing Jesus’ life so that he could later establish his ministry on earth. Jesus asks all of us to be mindful how we treat the least of us. Certainly, those having to abandon their way of life and risk everything to start anew in a foreign land are among the very least of us. Look for more on the specifics of "Exploring Migra7on: A Faith Journey" program to come through the month of December. If issues such as Homelessness, Respect for the Environment, Immigra7on, the Death Penalty, Interfaith Dialog, Human Trafficking and Vo7ng Rights are important to you – so is this ministry. This month, following the mee7ng, we will view a showing of the film 13
