Blade LCD displays and LED indicators match those on the actual Cage.

A red light on a C/Port indicates that a link has not been established or that a C/Port is not connected.

Switch Manager starts in the Manage Mode, which lets you view basic status information.

A green light on a C/Port indicates that a link has been established and a C/Port is connected.

Clicking here will display information on the Blade if available.

Blade information is displayed at the lower right.

You can also change the Blade ID and blink the LCD from this interface.

You can rename C/Ports, Cages, and Blades directly from the interface.

To move a user to the allocated spare Blade first select the user.

Click here to execute the switch over.

Then confirm the switch.

Select any C/Port and any Blade and then click “Switch” to execute an 8x8 operation.

8x8 Mode gives you full control over the C/Port-to-Blade connections in a Cage.

Supervisor Mode lets you view the video of any Blade in the rack.

Simply select a user to view and then confirm the switch.

User AUser A is normally connected to the highlighted Blade. But what if that Blade fails?

The Help Desk responds by running Switch Manager to remotely switch User A to the allocated Spare Blade (red).

User A has a fresh Blade but she doesn’t have her data yet.

The Help Desk uses ClearCube Data Failover to move User A’s backed-up data and settings to the spare from a backup peer.

User A now has her original data on the Spare Blade. So what happens to her original Blade?

The Help Desk uses Switch Manager’s Administrator Mode to connect directly to User A’s original Blade.

The Help Desk can then reboot, re-image, or if needed physically replace the Blade in the rack.

Throughout the whole process, the user continues to work on the spare Blade.

Once User A’s original Blade is repaired or replaced, the administrator can switch the user back, making the spare available again.

The administrator will have used Data Failover to update User A’s original Blade with all of her files and settings including any new files or changes that were made while on the spare Blade.
