REMEMBER ALMOSTGRACIOUS Virgin Mary that never was it known that any-one who fled to thy protection employed thy help or sought thine intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this con-fidence, I fly unto thee. Oh Virgins of Virgins my Mother, to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sor-rowful, oh Mother of the word incarnate, despise not my pe-titions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Thank you Blessed Mother Mary, for prayers answered, and inter-ceding on my behalf with your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus.

Information Guide for Voters SARATOGA CO. - The League of Women Voters of Saratoga County has produced an information guide for voters for the November election. Voters can access it by going to the League website, www.lwvsaratoga.org and either enter an address to see all the items on one’s personal ballot for the election or select from the list of 99 races which will be held in the county. Over 60% of candidates in races with opposition chose to par-ticipate in the On-line Guide this year, providing voters with biographical information, answers to questions posed by LWV Saratoga County, and in some cases links to statements made by the candidates during the five Candidate Forums held by the LWV Saratoga in October. In addition 15 candidates in races with no opponents also participated. In addition, detailed infor-mation on the six Ballot Propositions will be found on the site as well as information from the three candidates for Supreme Court Justice for the 4th. All of this information is part of the League of Women Voters of the US voter information website, www.vote411.org which is a valuable resource for all voters as the date for the election approaches. Information can be found here on absentee voting, information about voting machines, military and overseas voting, assistance for voters with disabil-ities, voting hours, and ID needed for voting, as well as links to the NY State Board of Elections . In addition, there are sample ballots for each town and city in Saratoga County which can be found at the Saratoga County Board of Elections website, http://www.saratogacountyny.gov/departments .

An Evening for the ChildrenSO. SARATOGA COUNTY – The Southern Saratoga Cham-ber Angels, Inc. announces its 2013 fundraising event, “An Evening for the Children”, Thursday November 7, 2013 at the Mohawk River Country Club & Chateau, 847 Riverview Road, Rexford. Chamber members and the Southern Saratoga County community have supported the Chamber Angels pro-gram for a 24th consecutive year. The families of these chil-dren, infant to 18 years old, are enduring fi nancial hardships that make the extra expense of the holidays a cause for stress and unhappiness which should be a season of joy. In collabora-tion with the Southern Saratoga YMCA, CAPTAIN Youth and Family Services, and the Mechanicville Area Community Ser-vices Center, the children are identifi ed through school districts and county agencies that then pass on the children ages and wish-lists to the Southern Saratoga County Chamber Angels. The Chamber Angels are entrusted to fi nd sponsors as well as shop for each child to make sure every child identifi ed has their holiday gift wishes fulfi lled. Join the Chamber Angels at 6:00 pm for a cocktail reception and silent auction with all pro-ceeds going directly to the children. Cost is $45 per ticket and $80 per couple. To register for this charity event, please visit www.southernsaratoga.org or call 518.371.7748.

Fall is in the air and I am in search of a fun family who loves to play in the leaves and search for the perfect pumpkin! I
would be ever so happy to be part of that good time! I am a 1 ½ year old, fine looking boy and a terrier mix.
Hi, I’m Edwina! I’m a spunky girl who loves to play with other dogs. I’m the perfect size and my friends at the
humane society call me the little bullet. The minute I get outside I love to run around and play and then roll on my back for some belly rubs. I’m a really great girl and would fit in with just about any family who wants a fun-loving pittie girl. Come down and meet me because I
won’t be staying here long!
Hello, I’m Dexter, a large tuxedo gentlecat of a certain age. I have fine green eyes. I’m a friendly fellow and I enjoy being
petted. My story is a sad one, because my owner had to go into a nursing home and no one else in the family could take
me. I have lived with other cats. Coming to the shelter is a big change to deal with at my age, so I am feeling a bit shy. But I make it quite clear that I enjoy head rubs and being with people. I do have some issues with my teeth and my weight, so you will need to take me to your own vet after
you adopt me. I’m an easy puss to have around and I promise I won’t be any trouble.

American Modern takes a fresh look at the Museum’s holdings of Ameri-can art made between 1915 and 1950, and considers the cul-tural preoccupations of a rapidly changing American society in the fi rst half of the 20th century. Including paintings, drawings, prints, photographs and sculptures, American Modern brings together some of the Museum’s most celebrated masterworks. Artists represented include George Bellows, Stuart Davis, Ed-ward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe, Charles Sheeler, Alfred Stieg-litz and Andrew Wyeth, among many others. Advice From The Pros: Do Not Neglect Auto Service (MS) -- The average age of a personal vehicle on the road today is more than 11 years, according to recent news reports. In tough economic times, it’s natural to rein in spending. But the experts at the nonprofi t National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) warn that putting off routine auto maintenance or ignoring service intervals is false economy. Small issues can morph into more expensive repairs. For example, failure to replace worn brake pads or a faulty oxygen sensor -- both relatively easy services for qualifi ed auto technicians -- can result in ex-pensive brake rotor service or costly replacement of the vehicle’s catalytic converter.
Frequently neglected items include oil changes, tire and brake service, wheel alignment, air and fuel fi lters, and transmission service, according to ASE-certifi ed auto technicians.
Besides, a well-maintained vehicle gets better gasoline mileage, pollutes less, is safer to operate, and lasts longer than one that’s neglected, notes ASE.
To help consumers choose a repair shop that fi ts their needs, ASE offers the following checklist:
* Look for a neat, well-organized facility, with vehicles in the parking lot equal in value to your own and modern equipment in the service bays.* Look for a courteous staff, with a service consultant willing to answer all of your questions.
* Look for policies regarding estimated repair costs, diagnostic fees, guarantees, and acceptable methods of payment.* Ask if the repair facility specializes or if it usually handles your type of repair work.* Look for signs of professionalism in the customer service area, such as civic, community, or customer service awards.* Look for evidence of quali-fi ed technicians: trade school diplomas, certifi cates of ad-vanced course work, and cer-tifi cation by ASE.* Look for the ASE sign or logo; it means the shop em-ploys nationally certifi ed technicians.
The National Institute for Au-tomotive Service Excellence (ASE) was founded in 1972 as a non-profi t, independent organization dedicated to im-proving the quality of auto-motive service and repair
through the voluntary testing and certifi cation of automo-tive technicians.

Fixing A Chipped Windshield Is
Now An Inexpensive,
Do-It-Yourself Repair
(MS) -- It takes mere seconds for a pebble or road debris to damage a windshield. What starts out as a small bulls-eye or chip in the glass can quickly grow into a crack that compromises the safety of drivers and their passen-gers. Fixing the damage be-fore it escalates into a safety issue used to require an expensive trip to the repair shop. However, now most drivers can tackle dings and chips from the comfort of their own driveways.
An unattended chip in the windshield could get worse with time, because constant vibration in the vehicle and changes in temperature can cause the chip to expand and spread. Eventually, you may be left with a larger, unsightly crack stretching across the glass, and what started as a inexpensive repair job has now turned into a costly windshield replacement.
Glass repairs may or may not be covered by your insurance. Repair bills for damaged windshields can range from $75 to several hundred dollars. Many drivers are unaware that windshield repair does not have to be a diffi cult or expensive venture. With do-it-yourself kits, repairing chips can now be done in mere minutes for right around $10.
Permatex(R) has developed a special Windshield Repair Kit that fi lls in the ding and stops the damage from spreading while minimizing the blemish on the glass. It comes complete with everything needed to make a permanent, professional quality repair in minutes, including step-by-step instructions and an online demo video. There is no mixing required and the repair cures automatically under natural sunlight.
For the kit to be effective, the chip or bullseye should be no more than a 1 inches long and must be on the outside of the windshield. It is a good idea to make the repair as soon as possible after it happens. This prevents the crack from getting contaminated and spreading.
The Windshield Repair Kit follows the same steps that a repair shop would, including sealing the crack with resin under a vacuum. View the Permatex how-to demo video at www.permatex.com.
In addition to quickly repairing a ding in the windshield, there are other windshield maintenance tips to follow.
* Clean the windshield regularly. Regular cleaning prevents the buildup of dirt, sand and debris on the glass and helps avoid scratches when you use your wipers.
* Check the windshield washer. Test your windshield washer regularly to make sure it works properly. In addition, keep the washer fl uid level topped off so it’s there when you need it to clean the windshield.
* Drive defensively. Avoid following a large truck that may be kicking up debris. Move into another lane, if possible. Also, do not follow vehicles that are transport-ing unsecured items on the car roof or in a pick-up truck bed.
