Remote Control

What is it and how does it work? The remote control allows you to communicate with the boiler from your favourite roomin the home. This means you can fit the boiler in the most suitable point of installation andcontrol it from a distance. The few control buttons and the display panel on the remote control allow for a simple yetpowerful management of the temperature regulation in your home, as well as the comple-te control of your domestic hot water supply. The sophisticated technology used guarantees a unique comfort. The remote control also provides initial help in the event of a boiler malfunction, indicatingthe type of anomaly detected, suggesting action to solve the problem or recommending youcall the Service Centre for assistance. The remote control is in fact an efficient and reliableally for your well-being.

The desired room temperature (COMFORT).In central heating mode, the ignition and operation of the boiler are used to reach and main-tain the COMFORT temperature.

The temperature of the domestic hot water and of the central heating flow. The temperature set for the central heating flow obviously determines the speed withwhich the room temperature can be reached. It may be a good idea to raise the temperature set for the central heating flow to enablethe desired room temperature to be reached, in exceptionally rigid climatic conditions.Theboiler temperatures are factory-set as follows: 40°C DHW, 75°C central heating.

The display will stay on the screen for 5 seconds.

The heating cycle will follow the default weekly temperature regulation programme ontwo temperature levels:

COMFORT temperature ( ), normally used during the daytime,

ECONOMY temperature ( ), normally used at night.

The combination of the two different room temperature features with the time bandsforeseen (see chapter entitled How to adjust the weekly temperature regulation pro-gramme) will ensure you maximum comfort, always.

The display will indicate the situation relative to the current day and the hours of the dayduring which programming is required.

In the above situation (19:30), the central heating is on (we are in the default time seg-ment from 17:00 to 21:00) to raise the room temperature (currently 18°C) to that set(e.g. 20°C).

NOTE - The boiler shutdown due to low water, as indicated by the symbol and by theerror E 02, may be due to a lack of water inside the boiler itself. Before calling for assis-tance, check the pressure of the system on the pressure gauge (please see chapter entitledPreliminary operations, paragraph “Resetting the system pressure”). Should the pres-sure be insufficient, turn the boiler off (see the Shut off chapter) and relight it in accordan-ce with the instructions provided in the Preliminary operations chapter.

Useful tips

Here are a few useful tips on the use, safety and maintenance of your appliance for a bet-ter all-round performance.

• Check the system pressure on the pressure gauge on a regular basis (see chapter enti-tled Preliminary operations, paragraph “Resetting the system pressure”).Keep in mind that any pressure resetting operations should be carried out with thesystem cold. If the pressure drops frequently, there may be a water leak at some point inthe system. Contact your installer.

• If there is a water leak, close the water cut-off valves.

• Any purpose provided ventilation in the room where the boiler has been installed shouldbe checked periodically to ensure it is free from obstruction.

• If you can smell gas, close the gas cut-off valve and do not actuate any electrical switches, telephones or any other object that may cause a spark.Air the room, opening all windows and doors.

• In the event of overpressure in the central heating or DHW circuits, water may leak fromthe safety valves. In this case, decrease the pressure as follows:

1) for the central heating system, act on the radiator valves;

2) for the domestic hot water system, decrease the water pressure to the recommendednominal values.

• If the water hardness is excessive (35-45 °F), add a little water softener, to ensure theboiler always performs to the best of its ability in time and to reduce gas consumption.

• The boiler panels should be wiped with a damp cloth soaked in soapy water only.

• Make sure you organise the annual servicing of your boiler with an authorised servicecentre.
