CLOSE PROTECTION TRAINING COURSE

Pearson BTEC Level 3 Certificate for working as a close protection operative within the private security industry Excellentia are able to provide the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Certificate for Working as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry. This qualification is a 22 day full package, which includes the required Level 3 medical qualification and is designed for people who want to work as close protection operatives and require a Security Industry Authority (SIA) CP licence to practice. 

This qualification is in compliance with and endorsed by the SIA and consists of a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 170hrs, including 140 Guided Learning Hours.

The qualification comprises the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to become a licenced close protection operative.  It is assessed over three Units, two of which are assessed internally and the third through a multiple-choice conflict management exam.   

Close Protection Specialist Module (Units 1&2)

• Basic surveillance, anti-surveillance and counter-surveillance techniques 

• Law & Legislation 

• Close protection interpersonal skills 

• Close protection reconnaissance 

• Incident management 

• Maintaining secure environments 

• Threat assessment, risk management and operational planning 

• Teamwork and operational briefing within a close protection environment 

• Close protection foot drills 

• Planning for route selection 

• Transport management 

• Venue security operations 

• Close protection operational planning 

• Providing close protection to an individual

Conflict Management Module (Unit 3)

• The principles of conflict management 

• Recognise, assess and reduce risk in conflict situations 

• Communicating in emotive situations to de-escalate conflict 

• Develop and use problem solving strategies 

• Good practice after conflict situations 

Medical Module

• Level 3 First Responders  

• Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid
