Maintenance-free features are further improvedby employing AC servomotors, non-contactswitches, permanent grease sealed wheel spin-dle. The use of ladder display function facili-tates inspection, and has realized simplifiedmaintenance work, eliminating troublesomejobs and time loss.

Conversational input system

ISelection of a grinding cycle with justa finger's touch.

Either of four grinding cycle patterns that willsuit the purpose can be selected with a singlefingertip operation. Then, the machine exe-cutes the optimum grinding including interme-diate dressing. Of course, optional dressingduring an automatic cycle is available.

ITroublesome operations are allundertaken by the CNC.

Sizing and position data can easily be input.Owing to the teaching system, simply pressingthe CYCLE START switch completes input.Operation can start with arbitrary position, thuseliminating positioning of machining start pointand idle time. Additional troublesome opera-tions are all undertaken by the CNC system.

IEasy Operation not Requiring a SkilledOperator

Conventionally, it has been seemed that thedegree of completion of a precision grindingdepends on the experience and sense ofskilled operator, and also the CNC machiningrequires time and manpower for programming,and therefore, it is still far from true rationali-zation.OKAMOTO's new CNC series provides a solu-tion for this subject by developing unique soft-wares. Only learning simple basic operationsallows even unskilled operator to operate themachine with the maximum grinding perfor-mance of the DXNC series.

IHigh Reproducibility Makes aContribution to Rationalization and QC.

Freely saving and reproduction of grinding dataprovide a merit in CNC grinding. The use ofRS-232-C interface enables saving and repro-duction of machining data. This function iseffective for unscheduled small-lot machiningand also it can reproduce the same machiningeven if the operator is substituted. In additon,simultaneous operation of several machinescan attain rationalization and quality controleasily.

New CNC series provides easy-to-operatefunctions, not requiring programming. The use

of the conversational input system (optional)starts machining by only answering the promptdisplayed on the CRT screen (for about 5 min-utes) since various machining patterns arebuilt in. The above figures show a comparisonbetween G code input and pattern data input;4H 35M in G code input is reduced to 2H 5M,less than half.
