Method Pour measured amount of cream peroxide and colour in a non-metallic

bowl. Mix with tint brush until you attain a smooth, consistent cream. Apply the mixture evenly, saturating and depositing the product. Timing

the exposure and the application times are important. Do not cover the hair.

First Application (on untreated hair) Length up to 20cm Apply part of the colour to the mid-lengths and ends of the hair. Leave

for 20 minutes. Apply the rest of the colour to the roots. Leave for 20 minutes. Total average treatment time 40 minutes. Length over 20cm Apply to the mid-lengths for 15 minutes. Then apply to the roots for 15 minutes. Finally, apply to the ends for another 15 minutes. Total treatment time 45 minutes. When colouring white hair, treatment time should be increased by 5

minutes. Before wetting, gently massage the hair in order to remove colour resi-

dues from the scalp. Work into an emulsion with water. Rinse out. Wash gently using a soft shampoo such as Farmavita Color Saver

Shampoo or Farmavita Hydro Repair Shampoo. Condition using Farmavita Color Saver Re-Vital Restoring lotion to lock

in the colour. Alternatively, condition with Farmavita Color Saver Mask.

Sensitivity Test Before applying any colour for the first time, it is always advisable to carry out a sensitivity test. To do this, apply a small amount of tint behind the ear or on the inside of the arm or elbow. Leave for 24 hours to see if any allergic reaction occurs.

The technical aspects of the Excelsa Hp Technology provide balanced nourishment to the hair, restoring its main components of water, proteins and lipids. The three main principles of this new technology are as follows: Intense repair and maximum protection to promote better colour penetration.

Low molecular weight oligopeptides are the product of gentle enzymatic hy-drolysis of the protein rich Bertholletia Excelsa fruit. The small molecular size allows for better penetration through the hair fibre, and binds tightly to the hair proteins, which revitalizes and nourishes the hair from within.

Deep and lasting moisturizing. The deep penetration through the hair fibre cuticle into the cortex, combined with the ability of these molecules to bind to water, provides lasting and deep moisturisation. Moreover, it protects the hair against humidity, which makes it easier to style. The result is strong, shiny hair that is easy to comb.

Balanced formula: long lasting colour and 100% white coverage. The interaction between moisturizing oligopeptides and high quality pigments results in brilliant and rich colours with an optimum degree of coverage (100% of white hair). The precise balancing of the formulation ensures stabilized col-our, prevents fading and keeps the colour vibrant for longer. The base is en-riched with a revolutionary raw material that absorbs and destroys the ammonia smell.

Farmavita have made impressive improvements to the Farmacolor range with the new Farmacolor Essence. One of the reasons Farmacolor has been so appealing to hairdressers is that it is gentle on the hair and scalp and the new formula will be no different in this respect. There is no increase to the ammonia levels but there will be greater quantities of the five essential herbal ingredients: nettle, eucalyptus, helichrysum, artemesia and rosemary. The updated formula has used the latest in colour technology to achieve the best coverage and colour while nourishing the hair. The new range has a fresh, fruity fra-grance that completely absorbs any smell of ammonia. Its soft texture mixes easily, making it great to work with. The 10 herbs used in the previous formula have been cut down to 5 essential herbs in greater concentrations. The following wild herbs from the Mediterranean Bush-land are used in Farmacolor Essence:

Nettle: Rich in minerals such as iron, silicon, calcium, potassium, manganese and in ascorbic acid. It is an important re-mineraliser and tonic and acts to pre-vent hair loss. It works on the scalp to control oily hair with or without dandruff. Its gentle action allows frequent washing. Eucalyptus: Invigorating, purifying, cleansing, conditioning and regenerative. It has refreshing, cleansing and conditioning properties leaving the hair soft and shiny. Helichrysum: Soothing, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidising. Artemesia: Invigorating, anti-bacterial, anti-oxidising and slightly astringent. Rosemary Oil: Anti-fungal, anti-oxidant, astringent, regenerates hair growth, regulates natural oils and acts as a tonic for the hair. It has cleansing properties for oily hair: it normalises the excess natural oils and prevents the formation of dandruff by invigorating and stimulating the scalp.

The international numbering system used for tint colour codes is also used in the tint code system in the Farmacolor. Another exciting modification to the Farmacolour range is the addition of 24 new shades to the range.

SEMI PERMANENT COLOURS

This colour fills the hair shaft with collagen and protein and allows the hair some colour without leaving a line of regrowth.

This colour coats the outer layer of the hair; it does not permanently penetrate the cortex. It will last between 6 – 8 weeks (up to 24 washes). It can highlight or deepen natural colour. Tones bleached or white hair - will not cover 100%, there is some translucency. Can also be used as a colour filler for tinting over bleached hair. It is a wonderful way for the client to enjoy colour and shine between tints. Many of you will have your own formula for mixing a semi-or demi permanent. This is the

formula that we recommend.

Farmavita Pre-colour Spray

Red: for pre-pigmentation of red, violet or mahogany tones, or to intensify tones from 1.0-4.0 Orange: for pre-pigmentation of auburn or light red, or to intensify tones from 5.0-7.0. Yellow: for pre-pigmentation of golden or light auburn tones, or to intensify tones from 8.0-10.0

Caution: Use appropriate gloves. Avoid Contact with eyes. This product can stain.

Colouring pre-pigmentation is ideal for smoothing out porosity and for intensifying and extending hair colour.

Root Treatment

Apply part of the colour to regrowth only. Leave for 15-20 minutes. Spray the ends with water. Apply the rest of the colour to the length and ends. Leave on for 15-20 minutes. Total average treatment time 30-40 minutes.

To intensify a reflect in a shade or colour:

Add 2cm or 3cm to your mix when preparing a colour. +

For example:

Mix ½ tube of 7.66 + 3 cm of the Red corrector to intensify the colour

and make it more vibrant.

When intensifying a gold shade for a “honey” colour

add 2cm of the Yellow corrector to your desired shade.

To create a 7.1 you can also mix 7.0 + 2cm of the Blue corrector.

To add more vibrancy, more lift and more hold when colouring red tips

or highlights, add 1/8 of a tube of Red corrector to your mix.

By using Farmacolor correctors in your formulas to intensify reflects, you

can customise your colours, giving creative and unique results.

Note: When working with correctors, ensure that the mix has been blended

consistently in order to avoid colour spots on the hair.

Life Décolor - Professional Hair Bleaching Cream

The Life Décolor bleaching cream can be used with 10, 20, 30 or 40 volume peroxide.

Mix bleaching cream to desired consistency. Leave on hair until desired bleaching shade is reached. Rinse well and wash with Hydro Repair or Color Saver Shampoo. Condition with Hydro Repair or Color Saver Mask. Style as usual. 1-2cm of Life Décolor bleaching cream can also be added to the highlift

Bleach Bath to adjust or strip out unwanted reflects

Please note: This is used to eliminate hard and unwanted, reflects, for example, eliminating a red or copper base that shows through brown or ash tones; or lifting a colour that has turned out

too dark.

Apply to the mid-lengths and ends of the hair on the basin.

Leave on the hair for up to 15 minutes (keep watching it).

Rinse, after hair has lifted 1 or half a shade.

Shampoo the hair gently and towel dry.

Proceed to apply the desired permanent colour as per usual

procedure.
