ground floor plan

rear elevation

Our client wanted to maximise the connection of

the interior of their house with their large garden.

They also required and additional 3 bedrooms

improve the master bedroom and form an open

plan kitchen, family room and dining area.

We identified that by extending the apex of the

existing roof and forming a large cupola above

a 2 storey atrium we could bring daylight down

into the centre of the deep house plan. Careful

planning allowed the 3 new first floor bedrooms

to have views over the rear garden and form

a sculptural composition of solid planes with

punched opening and framed glazing. The

composition is a contemporary interpretation of

classical Golden Section proportioning.
