Old friends, new beginnings

For the staff in Bangalore, the collaboration with Barco isn’t new. “Ever since we started this hospital, we have been using Barco’s diagnostic display systems,” explains Dr Harsha Chadaga, Senior Consultant and Head of Clinical Operations at Columbia Asia. “Since 2009, our fl eet has included the Nio 2MP and 5MP, and more recently the Eonis series. All of these have been subject to intensive use, but not once have they let us down.”

Champion in service and quality

Based on this excellent experience, Barco was high on Columbia Asia’s list of potential partners for a much needed upgrade. “We looked at some other companies as well, but in terms of service and quality, Barco proved to be unbeatable”, Dr Harsha explained. “The price may not be the lowest in the market, but Barco always keeps its promises.”

Smooth implementation

Barely two to three months after closing the deal, the upgrade was completed. Dr Harsha: “Once we made the fi nal decision, everything happened really fast. The installation was done in just two days. Furthermore, the radiology staff quickly got the hang of the new display systems, having built up a solid experience with Barco products in recent years.”

Off to a good start

For Dr Harsha and his team, the upgrade to the Nio Color 2MP, accompanied by MediCal QAWeb across the hospital enterprise in Bangalore is just the beginning. Harsha: “We are looking at the project in two or three phases. The fi rst part was to get cutting-edge diagnostic display systems and automated DICOM calibration across our sites – a phase we have successfully completed thanks to Barco. In the future, however, we also want to set up a 3D lab. Furthermore, two other hospital projects are in the pipeline right now. Needless to say, Barco’s diagnostic display solutions and support will be more than welcome for these projects as well.”
