PREFACE

Tradition guiding the Future

For more than 159 years, Christian College alumnae and Columbia College alumni have helped lay the foundation for an institution rich in tradition and ready for the future. The alumni, students, faculty and staff have played a significant role in defining and shaping the path of the Columbia College Alumni Association (CCAA).

The CCAA board of directors wanted a more focused and coordinated approach to fostering lasting relationships and to maximize the opportunities for our alumni and the college community as a whole. They set out on a path to create a five-year strategic plan with six core values and three long-range goals. More than 23,000 alumni and six committees across the country were involved in helping sculpt the plan.

The CCAA is proud to present to you a values-based strategic plan which will serve as a road map for the future. The CCAA will work hand-in-hand with the alumni relations department and college administration to ensure the quality and execution of their plan.

It is important to emphasize that the strategic planning effort is an open and ongoing process with many opportunities for all members of the college community to become involved in and continue to shape the future and direction of your alumni association.

GOALS AND STRATEGIES

The CCAA board of directors charged six committees to each define a single core value. These committees met from New York to Florida to Colorado and participated in one-day workshops to achieve this task. Online survey results and feedback from alumni, students, faculty and staff assisted these committees in creating the definition for their assigned core value. Thank you to everyone who participated in this process and provided the CCAA with valuable input.
