  • What we doand why it matters:

TWO-YEAR-OLD RED ANGUS BULLS These mature two-year-old bulls are designed to show up to your farm ready to do the job they were purchased for. They are fed a high forage, low concentrate diet proving their growth ability without being pushed hard. This allows better foot development and solid frames.

    >

DATA DRIVEN SELECTION Each bull in our sale is hand picked based on actual growth data and docility. The contemporaries that are not chosen for bulls are finished at the farm. The carcass data collected has proven the quality of their genetics and the ability of our herd sires to produce a profitable feeder steer.

    >

PASTURE CALVE Calves on our farm are expected to be born unassisted resulting in a live calf that gets up and nurses on its own. We cull heavily on udder quality and teat size.

    >

FREE BULL KEEP We encourage all buyers to leave the bulls at our farm until delivery to continue their ration and to receive their breeding soundness exam. This will be at no charge to you until April 1, 2021.

    >

CUSTOMER SERVICE We have very high standards of our cattle; all cattle in our program have to be productive and profitable. We will only sell you an animal we are confident can uphold those expectations. We do not take this responsibility lightly and work for you, our customers.

    >

Welcome to our 5th Annual Production Sale! Our offering this year includes 50 two-year-old Red Angus bulls. These bulls, that are born and developed on grass, will be ready to make an impact on your farm or ranch! All bulls being offered this year have been genetic tested with 50K. This ensures genetic accuracy and allows you to have the most accurate EPDs available as you select herd sires for your programs! Additionally, all bulls were carcass ultrasounded prior to being turned out on grass for the summer of 2020. This information gives you an idea of what their actual carcass data and measurements were at one year of age. New this year, we will be selling four yearling Red Angus heifer bull prospects!

We will also be offering 70 commercial bred heifers. These will be first, second, and third calf heifers. These heifers are guaranteed bred to high calving ease bulls. They will not disappoint! We look forward to seeing you all January 10th at the farm! Thank you to all of our past and present customers. We have enjoyed getting to know you through deliveries and conversations had throughout the year. Please do not hesitate to call with a question, concern, or just to chat!

    TWO-YEAR-OLD BULLS

    RLC BRUCE 144GRAA#: 4231170 DOB: 05/01/2019 BW: 87 Adj 205: 787 YW: 1292 1

What a way to start a catalog! RLC Bruce is a stout, soggy-made Value son that is Top Dollar qualified. His WW and YW EPDs are at the top of the breed at 75 and 125 respectfully. He also has adequate maternal numbers as he goes back to the foundation Fireberry 1N cow, a cow that has left her mark on our herd. He will sire calves with added depth and spring of rib. His calves should perform well off the cow, and he is part of the Top Dollar program.

If you’re looking for a bull to add pounds to your calves, Brooks 200G is the bull for you. He has that soggy herd bull look that comes down on a solid foot. His EPDs are balanced; he shines in his WW, YW, CW, and REA. 200G will sire calves that excel off the cow and on the rail. Use him on your mature cows. Don’t miss him sale day!

    RLC WAYLON 204GRAA#: 4231178 DOB: 05/13/2019 BW: 97 Adj 205: 780 YW: 1201 2

Run 204G with 200G and you are going to have pounds of calf come fall. These Value sons sure have been good. Value adds mass, depth, frame, and we sure like his daughters. You can appreciate 204G’s style; this would be a great addition to your herd.

Value on these 111X daughters sure worked for this Top Dollar bull. His negative birthweight EPD shows that he would work well on your second calf heifers.

A muscled up Top Dollar Value son, Conway has been on the top of his class in WW and YW. He was born unassisted on pasture and out of a flashy 111X daughter. The Value calves have ideal birthweights, and they grow and bend the growth curve. Use him on your mature cows.

You will see many lots with this logo on their picture. This denotes that these bulls meet the requirements to be considered a Top Dollar Angus herd sire.

Top Dollar Angus is a genetic certification and marketing company focused exclusively on the top 25% of the industry in carcass and growth of Angus-influenced feeder cattle. Qualified herds must have two or more generations of Angus (Black or Red) genetics with growth and carcass traits objectively ranking in the top 25% of the breed. Once your cattle have met the necessary requirements, they will be marketed under the Top Dollar Angus brand and logo, and will be promoted aggressively to a large number of feed yards and buyers.

Cattle in the FeedlotOne hundred percent of the 2019 calf crop was either finished in our feedlot, kept as a bull, or kept for breeding as a replacement heifer. The calves that were finished were sent to Cargill in Schuyler, Nebraska. The five loads sent to NE, totaling 200 head, graded 93% choice or higher with 96% yield grades 2’s and 3’s. On average, the carcasses weighed 935 pounds on the rail with their ages ranging from 13 to 15 months old. Being on feed for about 140 days, the cattle on our farm average 4 to 6 pounds gained per day.

When you buy a Ressler Land and Cattle bull, be confident that the bulls are grown out on a roughage diet. The carcass data collected is analyzed to help make breeding decisions. We consider the breeding and genetics behind each animal to determine the most productive and profitable animals. Cattle that do not repeatedly produce offspring that hold up to these standards are culled immediately.

    YEARLING BULLS

An exciting opportunity! As we were assessing the bull calves born in 2020, we knew these four bulls could not wait until next year to be sold as two-year-olds. They were born in early March out of first calf heifers making them the oldest bulls of this year’s crop. Their high calving ease and moderate frames make them excellent heifer bull prospects!

If you are looking for a sleep-all-night heifer bull, these Bullseye calves are it. They are full gestation, easy calving calves that grow; RLC Levine is no exception. He started off at 54 pounds and weaned with a 750-pound adjusted weaning weight. Use him with confidence on your heifers.

Here is a heifer bull, that is the first bull to sell out of our new herd sire Looslie Reddington 803. We have really liked this bull from the start. Ledoux stated off at 62 pounds and weaned off at nearly 700 pounds. He also has a balanced EPD profile with eleven of them in the top 30% of the breed.

  • Commercial, BredRed & Black Heifers

New this year are three groups of bred second calf heifers and one group of third calf heifers. These heifers were all bred to our resident herd sire, RLC Pie Code 113E. He has really impressed us with his high conception rates and the growing ability of his progeny.

The first calf black Angus heifers were bred to black Angus heifer bulls sired by Deer Valley Testament 5202. They are low birth weight bulls that are sure to make calving season a breeze!

The heifers are sorted into groups based on calving date. They will be auctioned off by second and third calf heifers first followed by the first calf heifers. The highest bidder will get choice of groups 1 through 5 initially. Once all of the second and third calf heifers are sold, the highest bidder will get choice of groups 6 through 11. Groups are non-negotiable; the bidder must take all the heifers in the group.

All ultrasound data was performed by Dr. Greg Carlson, DVM of Jamestown, ND. Please remember that the dates are just estimates. The heifers are sold guaranteed bred. Delivery is available at the buyers’ expense. All heifers must be picked up or delivered by January 23, 2021. All heifers were poured with Dectomax in December of 2020.
