COMMUNITYC O N N E C T I O N SVolume 3 | Issue 2 | Summer 2012
Alliance broke ground on its latest Florida development, Broadstone Cypress Hammocks, this past April in Coconut Creek. Featuring an “Old Florida” architectural style with metal roof accents and stacked stone exterior building detail, the community will blend artfully into the mature wooded preserve conservation areas that surround it. Almost all of the 396 residences will enjoy views of the wooded preserve or an on-site lake feature. Completion is slated for April 2014.
“Our future residents will enjoy the latest in amenities and features that define luxury living, and are unparalleled within this submarket area,” says Managing Director of Development Mike Ging.
This marks our third new development in the Florida area since 2011 — Broadstone Citrus Park (Tampa) was completed earlier this year and Broadstone at North Boca Village (Boca Raton) is scheduled for completion this winter.

FOCUS GREEN
Meadowbrook Apartments’ Maintenance Supervisor Richard Goins spearheaded a water-conservation program for the entire community. Working with California Water Services and Southwest Environmental, he was able to procure low-flow toilets, showerheads and aerators for all 125 apartment homes in just three days at no cost to the property or residents. The community has received great feedback from residents, who cannot stop talking about how great it is to have these new low-flow options. Meanwhile, the team at Broadstone Gramercy came up with a great idea for a resident breakfast — an “Eat Healthy, Live Green” event sponsored by My Fit Foods. The only catch? Residents had to bring 10 plastic grocery bags to exchange for a reusable shopping tote and earn their deliciously healthy fare. Broadstone Gramercy then recycled all the plastic bags on behalf of the residents.

As part of their “get ready for summer” process, the CPW team had to drain the community pool for resurfacing — but, before they did, they invited their four-legged residents to enjoy a day at the pool. Proud pet parents and their furry family members had a big splash of fun.
Corte Madera: Ice Cream TruckAssistant Business Manager Jenna Monen suggested an interesting spin on Corte Madera’s traditional ice cream social event — this year, they decked out their leasing golf cart to look like an ice cream truck, drove around the community blasting that familiar ice cream tune and handed out frozen treats. Says Business Manager Gina Camacho, “It was so much fun to see the residents laughing and chasing after us — and it was relatively inexpensive to do!”

Hollywood Tower and La Belle — with a little help from the band, Garbage — garnered some exceptional social media response the last week of May. Garbage performed a live acoustic set on HT’s rooftop deck on May 31, as part of the community’s “Penthouse Performances” partnership with 98.7FM. The social media response was fast and furious, including 56 check-ins on Facebook the day of the event, 29 new Twitter followers gained
over the course of the week, and more than 50 tweet tags from concert-goers during and after the event. Congrats on these awesome results!
HOLLYWOOD TOWER & LA BELLE
FAMOUS FACES
On May 7, Christina Applegate, Jane Lynch, Zooey Deschanel, Martha Plimpton, Laura Dern, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss and Julie Bowen gathered at Hollywood Tower for a roundtable video interview and photo shoot for The Hollywood Reporter. Each actress posed in various spots on the HT roof decks – our personal favorite is Jane Lynch on the giant Twister mat – and answered questions about the toughest parts of the job.
