Sign your name on the list on the Welcome Table at the back of Church and stay tuned for informa on in the bulle n about the staging area for our group.

Resource Room Spring Arrivals! We have in stock gi items for children receiving First Communion—Spanish and English boxed sets, crucifixes, rosaries, wooden prayer cubes and children’s mass booklets. Feed My Starving Children St. Barbara’s Missionary Spirit Team is planning our next service opportunity for Saturday, June 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Feed My Starving Children’s Aurora loca on. We will pack individual meals, called MannaPacks, which are designed to save the lives of severely

malnourished and starving children. The nutri ous ingredients also improve the health, growth and physical well-being of children who are no longer in immediate danger of starva on. The MannaPacks are shipped around the world to areas where children are most in need. Each pack can be boiled with water and will provide six meals. Go to fmsc.org for more informa on about the incredible work they do. This service project is open to 20 volunteers from St. Barbara. Children as young as 5 years old are welcome. Children who are under 18 years of age will need a permission slip if they are not a ending with an adult family member. People pu ng the MannaPacks together will be standing, but there are projects available for people who may need to sit. There is only room for 20 volunteers, so please contact us to reserve your spot – [email protected] or Noel at 708-522-2914. The Peter’s Pence Collec on has ancient Chris an roots, linking back to the New Testament mes when people would provide material support to those preaching the Gospel to distribute to those in need (see Acts 4:34-35, 11:29). Today the collec on is the way we as members of the Catholic Church unite ourselves to the concerns of the Holy Father. Dona ons to this collec on support the charitable works of Pope Francis for the assistance of those most in need. How Pope Francis Invites Us to Make the World Less Cold and More Just In his 2016 Urbi et Orbi address, Pope Francis reminds us, “The Lord . . . enables us to see with his eyes of love and compassion those who hunger and thirst, strangers and prisoners, the marginalized and the outcast, the vic ms of oppression and violence.” By opening our eyes to the suffering and injus ce in the world, we can open our hearts to the call of Pope Francis that “efforts be made everywhere to promote the culture of encounter, jus ce and reciprocal respect, which alone can guarantee the spiritual and material welfare of all people.” How We Can Join Pope Francis and Be a Witness of Charity By suppor ng this collec on, you support the charitable works of Pope Francis. Your dona ons are a witness of charity and help the Holy See reach out compassionately to those who are marginalized. Contribu ons to this collec on provide assistance to vic ms of natural disaster, war, oppression, and disease. How You Can Help PRAY — Pray for the Holy Father as he reaches out compassionately to make the world less cold and more just, and for those around the world who are suffering and will benefit from this collec on.

SHARE — As a way to spread the message of mercy and peace, share this flier with someone who might be interested and tell others how Pope Francis supports the marginalized.

GIVE — Please give generously to this collec on, as a witness of charity, and give hope to those who suffer around the globe. Collec on for Peter’s Pence is Sunday, June 25th.
