Scientists in School is a leading Canadian charity dedicated to sparking children’s interest in science, technology, engineering, math, and the environment through hands-on, discovery-based learning. At the heart of our work are our award- winning, inquiry-based workshops for Kindergarten through Grade 8 students. Just like our award-winning classroom program, our presenters bring subject expertise, discovery-based learning methodologies, and specialized materials and equipment to every workshop. Our community workshops are 60-90 minutes in length, can accommodate up to 25 youth per session and cost $160. Best of all, our workshops are guaranteed to be fun. Do you have what it takes to be Sherlock Holmes? Test your powers of observation and deduction as you use forensic science to solve the mystery of the missing munchies. Fingerprints, footprints, and invisible ink — oh my!

Good Clean Fun!Ages 3-8

Fun with soap and water? You’ll be astonished when you explore surface tension, make a soapy work of art and discover the fascinating things bubbles can do. Make a bath bomb to take home and amaze your family with the chemistry that makes it explode.

Obey Newton: It’s the Law!Ages 7-12

Sir Isaac Newton was one smart dude. Explore Newton’s Laws of Motion as you learn how things move; how size does matter; and how your actions always produce a reaction. You will make a tumble bunny, create a flying fish and build a racing car. Physics is fun!

Please Play with your Food!Ages 3-8 Learning chemistry is fun when it’s all about food! Make elephant toothpaste from kitchen chemicals. Explore solubility while experimenting with sweet treats. Create art using chemistry and watch it fizz! You’ll even get to squish your food in this chemical caper.
