The Mohamed Abdulrahman Al-Bahar Group Of Companies,
one of the oldest trading houses in the Gulf, has been
witness to decades of achievement and expansion, due to the
values of its founder, encompassing transparency, honesty
and diligent corporate competence.
Mohamed Abdulrahman Al-Bahar’s personal and corporate
accolades are numerous; one of the founding fathers of
Kuwait’s business environment and a renowned innovative
pioneer in his own right during Kuwait’s economic revival.
Indeed, spanning five decades, our founder’s vision and
business acumen has literally aided in the building of the
modern State of Kuwait.
Our Founder was born in 1919 to a merchant family. After
completing his academic studies, he served in the public
sector, joining the Municipal Council which was headed by
H.H. the late Amir Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Al-
Bahar was also a member of the Health Council, headed
by the H.H. the late Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
Subsequently, he joined the Construction Council which
played an important role in building modern Kuwait in the
mid20-th century. Furthermore, Al-Bahar was a founding
member of Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry,
where he became Deputy Chairman in 1996. Al-Bahar,
who was appointed as Chairman of the Board of NBK in
1993, also played an establishing role in numerous local and
international companies.

Our founder was active in the world of philanthropy, building
mosques in and out of Kuwait, while also funding many
other charity projects, including educational scholarships
for young people, in addition to owning and sponsoring
The English School since 1953 which is a non-profit School
in Kuwait – he also exerted efforts into the health services,
building the ‘Al-Bahar Ophthalmology Center’, providing
treatment and surgery to thousands of people.
On both a personal and corporate level, Mohamed
Abdulrahman Al-Bahar has constantly maintained an open
door policy and a personal relationship with employees
of the company, a personal bond that was built on a
mutually respectful exchange of ideas. He demonstrated
his true commitment to the highest ethical standards to his
employees, stakeholders and community by establishing
loyal long-term relationships and earning their trust. These
relationships fueled by integrity and transparency are the
foundations of our continued success and reputation.
Furthermore, Mohamed Abdulrahman Al Bahar has played
a crucial role within the community. In addition to creating
thousands of meaningful jobs in Kuwait and the GCC, he
has also been active in supporting valuable initiatives that aid
these communities.

Al Bahar Shipping was established in 1951 and is one of the
earliest shipping agencies established in Kuwait. The agency
shipped in the first container discharged in Kuwait.
Al Bahar Shipping has represented agencies in Kuwait for
the shipping lines DDG Hansa GmbH, Hapag Lloyd Container
Lines, Hamburg – Germany, Rickmers Line, Hamburg –
Germany, Jugolinija Line later known as Croatia Line – Rijeka,
Guan Guan Shipping Pte. Ltd. – Singapore, Sin Chiao
Shipping Co. – China, Kie Hock Shipping – Singapore and
Great Eastern Shipping Co., – India.
Mohamed AbdulRahman Al Bahar Shipping Department
became a L.L.C. company on 31st December, 2010 and is
now known as Al Bahar Shipping Co. L.L.C.. It currently is
the exclusive agents for Cosco, PIL, IAL and Falcon Express in
Kuwait.
Chine Ocean Shipping Group Company (COSCO) owns and
controls over 800 modern merchant vessels and is China’s
largest group specializing in shipping, logistics, and ship
building and repair. COSCO is ranked 327th in Fortune
Global 500. Their shipping lines cover over 1600 ports in

shipping agents in Kuwait offering services through all ports

Alitalia.
Alitalia is the flag carrier and national airline of Italy. The

other Italian airports serving as secondary hubs. Alitalia flies
to 98 destinations in 44 countries.
Alitalia along with Kuwait Airways currently has 4 weekly
flights Kuwait – Rome – Kuwait in addition to 5 weekly
