SolarizEgypt recognizes the country’s inherent asset of unrivalled solar irradiance and in turn intends to capitalize on this untouched potential to help fill Egypt’s energy deficit. The company is a solar EPC that designs, installs and commissions grid-connected PV solar power plants offering commercial, industrial and residential electricity consumers the option of complementing their conventional energy supply with solar power. Furthermore, SolarizEgypt pffers a range of solar solutions from standalone options to hybrid option. It also offers Operation & Maintenance services, according to customer preference. We believe that a business model must be tailored for every consumer to make his solar solution financially viable.
SolarizEgypt was established in 2013 with the aim of pioneering the introduction of grid-tie Photo Voltaic (PV) technology in Egypt. The SolarizEgypt team is committed to providing ground-breaking and malleable solutions to put country assets to good use.
At a time when solar energy in Egypt is at its peak demand, SolarizEgypt intends to focus on its specialization to become the number one grid-tie PV solar power plant supplier and solar solution integrator in Egypt for small and large scale applications alike. • SolarizEgypt’s main specialization and experiences lie in designing installing and connecting grid-tie PV solar power plants. Its focus extends from the kilo-watt scale to the mega-watt scale.
• The company also has experience in installing and operating small-scale off-grid PV systems. • The team has also worked closely with the SMA team to develop a PV-diesel hybrid solution
tailored for Egypt’s tourism, agriculture and oil and gas sectors. • The company’s R&D team is currently developing an AC coupled system that is targeted at

Services
SolarizEgypt inspects and sizes the electrical consumption of the entity at hand to propose the most suited grid-connected PV solar power plant design. The company then supplies the necessary equipment, constructs the plant and commissions it to the client. SolarizEgypt then offers an Operations & Maintenance service to ensure that the plant is operating up to spec. Alternatively; SolarizEgypt team can train entity personnel to carryout operation and maintenance activities.

Certifications and Qualifications SolarizEgypt is an official PV Solar System Grid Integrator and Installer as certified by the NREA (New and Renewable Energy Agency) SolarizEgypt has successfully prequalified for the Ministry of Electricity’s Feed-In-Tariff program as an EPC in three consortiums for projects totalling 73MWp. SolarizEgypt operates as EPC in partnership with E-nara Company for Energy & Industrial Investment, represented by Mr.Sherif Magdy El-Gabaly as its business developer. Together Enara and SolarizEgypt prequalified as part of consortiums for three mega-scale solar projects as part of the Ministry of Electricity’s Feed-In-Tariff program. Current/Pipeline Projects
SolarizEgypt has successfully prequalified for 73MWp projects as part of Egypt’s 2000MW Feed-In-Tariff program where it will play the role of local technical partners and EPC with a margin of 7.5% in the following projects that should be comissioned by end of 2016.
• 50MWp project to be constructed on government allocated land in Aswan by a consortium lead by ET Solar and Polyserve. (total investment cost EGP 586,000,000 – 30% Equity 70% Debt)
• 22MW project constructed on privately owned land in Aswan by a consortium lead by SolarizEgypt and Enara. (total investment cost EGP242,000,000 – 30% Equity 70% Debt)
• 1MW project for Al-Tajamoat Group on its industrial land where SolarizEgypt is contracted as the EPC. (project value EGP11,000,000)
SolarizEgypt is one of a few companies certified by NREA to install grid-connected plants as part of the country’s small scale Feed-In-Tariff plan with a capacity totalling 300MW. The company targets 10% of this market with three projects already on the ground.

Potential Projects and Future Prospects
SolarizEgypt envisions a large market for its PV diesel hybrid project in the agriculture sector, the oil and gas sector and the tourism sector (especially Marsa Allam as it is off-grid). It targets to install a 20MW capacity in one year in collaboration with SMA.
SolarizEgypt is shortlisted as one of the companies contracted to complete a 1MWp grid-tie PV solar plant at El-Gouna for El-Gouna Electric Co. (total investment cost EGP13,000,000 – 30% Equity 70% Debt). The company will carry out the role of EPC with a 7.5% margin. Bid results and project commencement date is February 1st, 2015. SolarizEgypt is in talks with a few development companies and educational institutions to design and implement PV grid-connected solar plant projects within the range of 100KWp to 1MWp within the coming year.

Founders
Yaseen Abdel-Ghaffar holds a BSc in Chemistry from The American University in Cairo (AUC). Yaseen then went on to work as a Management Trainee at Edita Food Industries, and later with ExxonMobil Egypt, where he held the position of Quality Assurance Lab Chemist. Within the scope of this role, Yaseen performed required tests on finished products and raw materials, additionally providing technical support to the Sales & Marketing department by carrying out the necessary tests to resolve customer complaints. In 2013, Yaseen founded SolarizEgypt, where he currently holds the position of Managing Director. Within the scope of this role Yaseen oversees and supervises company activities, develops and reviews the company’s business strategy, measures the extent of financial performance, quality and customer satisfaction. He also handles strategic business alliance with key suppliers and stakeholders.
Rana Alaa graduated in 2010 from the American University in Cairo (AUC), majoring in Electronic Engineering and minoring in Business Administration. She then went on to work as a Platform Power Engineer and Wireless Technology Researcher at Intel, Oregon (USA), after which she published several papers on Wireless Sensor Networks at IEEE conferences. Rana then shifted her career along a more environmental track, pursuing an MSc. in Environmental Engineering at AUC. She worked as an Environmental Engineer in many regional and international companies, among them Shell Egypt, Shell Qatar and Badr El-Deen Petroleum Company. Rana was also Junior Expert in an EU-funded project: “Technical Assistance to Support the Reform of the Energy Sector in Egypt.” In 2013, Rana co-founded SolarizEgypt where she currently holds the position of Technical Director.
