CORPORATE GOVERNANCEThe Middle East Specialized Cables Co. (MESC) has prepared a governance system according to the requirements of the Instruction of the Companies’ Governance Article (10) Paragraph (C) issued by the Capital Market Authority; and according to the Companies’ Law, registration and inclusion procedures; and according to the company’s Articles of Association, and without contradicting the Article’s rules; and in the light of the best international practices of the companies’ governance.

The governance is a group of structures, systems, and policies made for

relationship between the companies’ shareholders, the board of directors and the executive management to help the board of directors in doing its commitments and improving the practical effectiveness of the board and its committees so as to insure the abiding of the best governance practices.

The company aims from adopting the governance system to organize and improve its governance principles through its abiding by the following: Improve the current administrative performance which is based on the company’s value and the possibility of questioning the company.Increase the effectiveness of the supervision’s role in cooperation with the executive people so as to achieve the interests of the company and the shareholders including the small investors, and the work for increasing the shareholders rights with the appropriate ways.The commitment to the declaration and transparency of the information, and the existence of an effective system of internal control and risk management.

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENTSince its inception in 1993, MESC have invested heavily in R&D, quality assurance, state of the art facilities and highly skilled and experienced workforce to ensure delivering high quality and reliable products. As a result, MESC is recognized as the supplier of choice for instrumentation and control cables by Oil and Gas companies and EPC contractors in the region.

In addition, we believe we have an obligation towards society. As part of this responsibility, we have established a training center. In 2013, we have given 3500 training hours in various technical areas such as quality control, production and electronics. Currently, MESC employs 201 Saudi Nationals. We also sponsor social associations as a part of our contribution to the development of the country.

We at MESC are very excited about the huge investments made in infrastructure and transportation locally and in the rest of the region. We are committed to being an active partner in this development by being “at the heart of every project”.

MESC RAK has tied up with University of Bolton (UOB) to accept their university graduates as interns to work in the cable manufacturing facility. A

4 students were inducted and are working on several projects.

This internship programmer will be helping these future engineers to develop their skills to the industry needs.

MESC COMMITMENT TO THE SOCIETY

As part of social responsibility and supporting local community, MESC participates every year with blood donation campaigns held by RAK Municipality under the name “Drops of your blood save the life of others” in collaboration with Saqr Hospital’s Blood Bank to encourage the MESC members to donate blood and raise awareness about the importance of donating blood.

EXPORTMESC is determent on coping with the Saudi 2030 vision, by being a leading manufacturing and exporting country.
