MATT KREDICH
BOB & KATHY HUBBARD
Matt Kredich is in his 8th year as the head coach of the University of Tennessee Women’s Swimming Team, and is in his first year as Head Coach of the mens team as well. His training programs are con-sidered to be very science and technique driven, but his greatest interest lies in discovering the interplay of physiology and the mental and emotional states of the athlete. In the past five years, a women’s program which had previously produced zero international medals has produced swimmers who have won seven medals, including four gold at the World University Games and two silver by Christine Magnussen at the 2008 Olympic Games. Since 2008, Kredich-coached athletes have consistently been ranked in the Top 50 in numerous events, and achieved numerous Top 20 world rankings: 100 and 200 women’s fly (Kelsey Floyd - 2012), women’s 50 and 100 back (Jenny Con-nolly 2011), Top 10 in the men’s 200 free (Davis Tarwa-ter - 2009), and a world ranking of #2 in the women’s 100 fly (Christine Magnuson - 2008).
Bob Hubbard and his wife Kathy have 8 children and 14 grandchildren. Bob grew up in New York City, and worked as a beach lifeguard. Bob has a psychology degree and his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati. Kathy swam competi-tively through college and qualified for the 1968 Olympic Trials. Her college degree is in English. She is currently chairman of the US Swim School Association’s (USSSA) Infant Toddler Committee.
In 1998 Bob and Kathy founded the first Hubbard Family Swim School location in Phoenix on 32nd Street and Thunderbird and began running the first location of Hubbard Summer Sports Camps. There are now 4 Indoor Swim Schools and 7 sum-mer camp locations. Bob has been involved with the USSSA since 1998, He currently serves on the Maggie’s Place Board of Directors, and calls about 10 charity auctions a year. His healthy pas-sion is biking with a group of old guys that gets him out on most of the roads in Phoenix.
Kredich has been coaching swimming at the club and college level for over 25 years. He has held positions as head coach at Brown University and the University of Richmond, and as an assistant coach under Richard Quick at Stanford University and Mike Chasson at Harvard University. He was founder and head coach of the USA Swimming club Ocean State Squids, which produced three time Olympic medallist Erik Vendt and many-time USA National Team Member Nick Brunelli. Kredich holds two degrees from Duke University (Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology - 1988, Masters in Teaching - Biomechanics – 1990). Matt and his wife Kim, a professional choral conductor, have three children – Ben (13), Miles (13), and Coleman (11) all of whom are avid swimmers and musicians.

Managing Director – Water Babies LtdMy career path has included working in a number of different senior management roles within UK public sector sport and leisure management. I have also worked extensively in sport and leisure consultancy which included time spent working for quasi-gov-ernment organisations in the Middle East and the Caribbean working on sports related projects ranging from setting national policy standards on water safety through to leading organisational change programmes for major international organisations. I joined Water Babies as its new Managing Director in June 2009. Water Babies is the UK’s largest commer-cial aquatic teaching organisation, with a franchise network of 52 businesses across the whole of the UK, Ireland and a licensed operation in Sydney. The company teaches over 32,000 babies and pre-school aged children each week through 400 teachers in over 700 swimming pools and has been awarded 10 national awards over the last 4 years. More recently it has partnered with an academic institution in the UK to lead on the development of pioneering scientific re-search into child development and the impact of its teaching programme on improving the overall health and wellbeing of its clients through progressive physical activity. Finally my passion (apart from my family!), is surfing particularly at the holy grail of surfing, off north shore Oahu, Hawaii
