Juneau: As Jews, we have been persecuted many times in our history.Thankfully, as Americans, it is our right to practice whatever we believein. We have to be grateful that the little instances of persecution we faceare nowhere near that of other countries.

Jake Nguyen: I personally find it amazing how well our worldworks, the fact that everything works together so nicely. Why Judaism is important to me
Juneau Resnick:
There are many reasons why being a Jew is special to me. I get to
celebrate more significant holidays than just ones where you give out
presents. I get to share in the history of a people that not many are
aware of. I get to be that kid that other kids ask questions about. I get to
explain to kids what makes me different. I have a tight-knit community
who are always giving, always working to make the world a kinder place.
Jake Nguyen: I like being Jewish because it is very interesting to be the minority to
explain to the fellow non-Jews about the Jewish culture. I also like the
fact that we have survived for century after century, attack after attack
and yet here we are, alive, and practicing. I always feel a sense of pride
explaining the aspects of a holiday to one of my friends, going to services,
or even just eating Matzah. I am happy that we as a people have survived
for this long and that I can explain and teach it to those who do not
know. It can feel good to be different and in America being Jewish can be
different in many ways.
