St. Louis Magazine is honoring the dedication and care of nurses in St. Louis and St. Andrew’s is proud to say that one of our own is being recognized. Kim Eric Henderson, Clinical Director for St. Andrew’s Management Services, is a finalist for the Excellence in Nursing 2012 Awards. He is one of three being honored in the Senior Services category. Henderson will be honored along with 70 other finalists on Thursday, April 19, at 6 p.m. at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel St. Louis. When The Willows recently had power outages in two of its buildings, Paula Tompkins, a Home Health Aide for St. Andrew’s Senior Solutions was called in to attend to the residents remaining in the building due to poor health or personal preference. “She tirelessly climbed three flights of stairs several times and gave superior care to our residents,” said Jeanne Fiddle- man, who handles the activities programming for The Willows at Brooking Park. “Truly an angel!” Paula is the team leader on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for Brooking Park and The Willows. Thank you Paula for your caring service and your dedication to our residents! Spring Cleaning: 5 Tips to Declutter 1) Declutter for 15 minutes every day. Rome wasn’t built in the day, and neither was your mountain of paper and data scatter. You’ll be surprised on how much you can get accomplished taking a bit of time each day to tackle your clutter. 2) Gift everything. Books you’ve read can be recycled among your family friends or local library. Game systems can be donated or given away. 3) Get Digital. Photos, Children’s Artwork, Books, Documents 4) Yard Sale Time. That Ugly Sweater someone gave you, that collection of china you never liked, and other goodies can become someone else’s prized possession. 5) Create Art. Old buttons can become vintage rings, bottle caps and wine corks can become an interesting piece of artwork with a little bit of time and supplies. Need more decluttering help? Susan Signorino, MSW, a Senior Living Counselor with Brooking Park in Chesterfield, MO, was selected as one of 10 Dedicated and Deserving Social Workers for Social Work Today magazine.

Susan’s role at Brooking Park is in marketing and admissions.
