Topping off ceremonies are a tradition amongst construction companies and ironworkers marking the end of steel construction on a project. I was proud to witness, along with many others, another milestone in the growth or our hospital. Once complete in Fall 2016, our new 153,000 square foot, five-story Physician Office Building and 26,000 square foot, single-story Cancer Center will offer many outpatient services currently provided at other off-campus locations. Both new buildings will be patient-centered healing environments with the latest technology and amenities. We will also be adding more than 800 convenient parking spaces. At the ceremony, Jonathan Rouis, Orange Regional’s Foundation Chairman, announced the kick-off of a $3 million “The Future is Orange” Capital Campaign to help fund our expansion. The goal is to raise $2 million in support of new equipment, $500,000 to create an endowment fund for academic research and education, and another $500,000 to support a healing environment to include a rooftop gathering space along with interior and exterior artwork. With our construction and new Campaign at the forefront, our growth promotes expert physicians, outpatient medical services, general wellness, integrated medical care, academic medicine and comprehensive cancer care services. My hope is that employees will see the value of our expanding services and consider contributing to our fundraising effort whether financially or by volunteering to raise money.
