5. TILE INVESTIGATION: CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR LOCATING AND VERIFYING TILE LOCATION AND ELEVATION

8. TOPSOIL STRIPPING:
8.1. STRUCTURE, BORROW AREAS - SHALL BE STRIPPED OF NO LESS THAN 12 INCHES.
8.2. WATERWAY - SHALL BE STRIPPED OF NO LESS THAN 9 INCHES.
9. TOPSOIL STOCKPILE: CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SEGREGATING TOPSOIL FROM EXCAVATION SPOILS
THROUGHOUT CONSTRUCTION. CONTRACTOR IS TO DESCRIBE WORK PROGRESSION INCLUDING TOPSOIL
MANAGEMENT AT PRECONSTRUCTION MEETING.
10. TOPSOIL SPREADING: ALL AREAS RECEIVING TOPSOIL DRESS SHALL BE UNDERCUT 6 INCHES AND TOPSOIL SHALL BE
SPREAD AT LEAST 6 INCHES THICK TO THE DESIGN SURFACE.
11. ALL AREAS UNDER STRUCTURAL FILL SHALL BE SCARIFIED TO A DEPTH OF SIX (6) INCHES AND RECOMPACTED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATION IA-23, SECTION 6, METHOD 2.
12. TESTING: CONTRACTOR TO ENSURE ADEQUATE MOISTURE AND DENSITY THROUGHOUT CONSTRUCTION.
COMPACTION IS TO BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATION IA-23 EARTHFILL.
12.1. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING WATER TO ENSURE SOILS MEET ADEQUATE MOISTURE
REQUIREMENTS.
13. EARTHFILL SHALL BE PLACED AND COMPACTED IN LOOSE LIFTS NO THICKER THAN NINE (9) INCHES. ENGINEER MAY
DIRECT THINNER LIFTS BASED ON AVAILABLE COMPACTION EQUIPMENT.
14. TOEWALL STRUCTURE CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NOTES ON SHEETS C0-30 TO C0-33.
15. RIPRAP: ALL RIPRAP LAYERS SHALL BE PLACED 18 INCHES THICK OVER CLASS IV, NONWOVEN, GEOTEXTILE FABRIC.
16. ROAD ROW: CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY COUNTY ENGINEER'S OFFICE AND MEET ALL CRITERIA SET FORTH BY
COUNTY ENGINEER FOR ALL WORK WITHIN ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY.
17. WORKMANSHIP: CONTRACTOR SHALL PERFORM ALL WORK WITH CRAFTMANS LIKE APPEARANCE AND LEAVE NO
TRASH/DEBRIS AFTER DEMOBILIZATION.
SEEDING NOTES:
18. ALL SEEDBEDS SHALL BE PREPARED AREAS AS SPECIFIED IN SECTION IA-6.
19. ALL ROCKS 3" OR LARGER IN DIAMETER SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE SEED BED.
20. CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A SEEDING PLAN ON FORM IA-CRP-4 FOR EACH TYPE OF SEED TO BE PROVIDED AT

24. PIPE SHALL BE DUAL WALL CORRUGATED HDPE.
25. PIPE EMBEDMENT AND BACKFILL MATERIALS SHALL BE CONSISTENT WITH SPECIFICATION IA-23. A DEWATERED, DRY
TRENCH IS REQUIRED. PLACE AND COMPACT FILL AROUND PIPE AND AND STRUCTURE IN ACCORDANCE WITH
SPECIFICATION IA-23, SECTION 6 AND AS TRENCH IS FILLED OR BERM FILL IS RAISED. NO GRANULAR BEDDING ALONG
PIPE IS ALLOWED. SUITABLE EARTH BACKFILL MUST BE USED.
26. THE COMPACTION OF EACH BACKFILL LAYER MUST BE APPROVED BY ENGINEER'S REPRESENTATIVE PRIOR TO
PLACEMENT OF NEXT LAYER. DENSITY TESTING IS NOT REQUIRED.
27. STRUCTURE SHOP DRAWINGS ARE REQUIRED FOR ENGINEER'S REVIEW AND APPROVAL BEFORE FABRICATION OF
