.Who should be called a saint or a baba? The kind of exploitation that

was being done in the name of superstition only shows that weare still living in dark ages. These ashrams which have become

centres of terror in the name of faith should be deeply investigated. Themanner in which fake baba Rampal tried to take advantage of the humanweakness was really a huge sin.

People like Rampal are not born in a day. They spread their network ofsuperstition gradually in the society. In the name of miracle the ignorantand poor people who are burdened economically become prey of theirabuse.

There should be a ban on these types of ashrams at the very beginningitself. It is an irony that Congress government led by Hooda was in powerfor last ten years in Haryana. The so called Baba Rampal spread his wingsin the last ten years itself. Why no attention was paid to him? What was thereason that Hooda government was giving shelter to these types of babas. It is known to everyone that Rampal did not create such an empire in oneday.

Was the story of becoming baba from an engineer not in the knowledgeof the then Congress government? If it had came in the knowledge of thegovernment then how he was allowed to spread? Ashram got convertedinto house of weaponry and the government remained a mute spectator.

The kind of lawlessness that was spread in the name of this ashramrunning in the name of baba is nothing less than sedition. The administrationand the government were openly challenged. Had the BJP government inHaryana and the chief minister Shri Manoharlal Khattar not acted withpatience, the situation that was created both inside and outside the ashramcould have led to many deaths.

The manner in which Baba tried to use newly born children and theirmothers as his shield appeared something related to films. Who will supportthe act of keeping followers in confinement for one’s security.

It may have taken twelve days to arrest Rampal in course of changingsituations but the acumen and patience displayed by administration andgovernment is being praised in the entire country. The act of controlling theentire situation without shedding much blood and getting every citizen backto their home is being appreciated everywhere. The human sensibilitydisplayed by administration and the government will serve as an examplefor long time to come. By arresting Rampal the Haryana government hasalso upheld the dignity of the court. That’s why the court has also praisedthe action of the Haryana government. Here government has also sent themessage that no one is above law.

No one is above law

Following theAustralian visit ofPrime Minister Shri

Narendra Modi,International media anddiplomatic experts arenow openly recognizingthis fact that Indian PM’svisit to Australia heraldeda new era of closerrelationship between thetwo countries. ‘ModiMania’ took overBrisbane, Sydney,Canberra and other cities,as the Prime Ministeraddressed a hugegathering in AllphonesArena of Sydney and theJoint Sitting of AustralianParliament to packedpublic gallery. A largenumber of Indian and international news agenciescarried the live coverage of the address – the firstby an Indian prime minister to the AustralianParliament.

The amount of attention Shri Modi got thistime from the Australian government demonstratedthe rising profile of India as a Global power. Theperceptible thaw in Indo-Australian relationshipas witnessed now is in sharp contrast to the strainand mistrust in bilateral relations in 2009 overseries of attacks on Indian students in Australia. The growing trust between the two countries isbest captured in the announcement of a frameworkof security co-operation between the two nations. The framework gives structure to commitments ondefence and counter-terrorism measures.Government ministers from both countries alsosigned agreements on extradition that could seecriminals serve out their sentences in their homecountries, and on social security, which would seeAustralians living in India get an Australian aged

pension, and vice versa. The agreement would seethe removal ofrequirements forAustralian and Indianbusinesses to paysuperannuation totemporary secondedemployees.

Prime Minister ShriNarendra Modi’sAustralia visit was partof a tri-nation tour for 10-day started from 11November. As part of hisitinerary, he visitedMyanmar, Australia andFiji. During the last fivemonths period in officePrime Minister Shri Modihas travelled extensivelyto countries like Bhutan,

Brazil, Nepal, Japan, United States Of America(USA), Myanmar, Australia, and Fiji to improvethe bilateral relations with the concerned countriesand engage the ethnic Indians and non-residentIndians settled in these countries for the overalldevelopment of the country and Shri Modi hassuccessfully used the diaspora to change the imageof the country, pushing back the critics of Indiawho still believe it’s a country of ‘Snake Charmers’and ‘Magicians’. Along with it, during this tourShri Modi also met more than 40 leaders, includingclose to 20 bilateral meetings with the leaders ofChina, Germany, Britain and South Korea to bringback the country to the center of attention.

First Shri Narendra Modi travelled to Myanmarto attend the Association of Southeast AsianNations (ASEAN) leaders during the ASEAN-IndiaSummit. The final stop of his visit was at Fiji. Butthe most important part of Shri Modi’s three-nationtour was Australia where he participated in anall-important G-20 summit meet, addressed the

The Prime Minister said that if the world followsGandhi‘s examples, a lot can be done for the environment. Shri Modi saidthat for Mahatma Gandhi ahimsa (non-violence) was an article of faith - he was against even verbal violence. He said the world can be healed if we all imbibe his message, of respecting one and all.

Address to the Joint Session of theAustralian Parliament

India's political rockstar Shri NarendraModi got big laughs and claps from politiciansaround the chamber in the AustralianParliament House when he brought up thefact that he was the third head of governmentto address them this week. 'I do not know howyou are doing this... Maybe this is PrimeMinister Abbott's way of shirtfronting you,'he said. Shri Modi was given a ceremonialwelcome to Parliament House and trade wastop of the agenda when Australian PrimeMinister Tony Abbott met with him inAustralia's capital. He pledged to putAustralia at the centre of his strategy toexpand his country's economy and ensurepeace in the region. This comes after ShriModi stormed Sydney's Allphones Arena onMonday, driving a packed audience of 17,000people into delirium.

Addressing a historicspeech to the Joint Session ofthe Australian ParliamentPrime Minister Shri Modi saidI stand here as one of you - arepresentative of the people; Icome to you with the greetingsof 1.25 billion people of anation, linked to Australia bythe great Indian Ocean; by ourconnected history and ourmany shared inheritances-and, even more by our deeplyinterlinked destinies. And,today I have come to unite inspirit, as we were once by geography - spirit thatis fed by many stirring stories of human successand sacrifice.

He said ‘this morning, Prime Minister and Ihonoured our soldiers, who 100 years ago madethe supreme sacrifice together in the battle ofGallipoli’. The man who designed this beautifulcapital of Canberra, Walter Burley Griffin, liesburied in the old city of Lucknow in India. Morethan 150 years ago, an Australian novelist andlawyer John Lang fought the legal battle for a brave

Indian freedom fighter, the Queen of Jhansi, RaniLaxmi Bai against the British East India Companyin India`s first War of Independence. He also liesburied in the Indian hill town of Mussoorie. Thestatue of Gandhi in Canberra is a symbol of ourshared values. We celebrate the legend of Bradmanand the class of Tendulkar together. We areimpressed by Australian speed as you arecharmed by the Indian spin until of course ShaneWarne came along! But, above all, we are unitedby the ideals of democracy.

Today, as I stand in this temple of democracy,I consider nations such as ours to be blessed, because democracy offers the best opportunity forthe human spirit to flourish, because we have thefreedom to choose, the right to speak and the powerto remove – and, for us in politics, with no optionbut to leave with grace, he said.

He said Australia evokes images not just ofimmense beauty, but also of a great quality of life.Today, its cities are alive with richness of thisworld’s diversity. And, it is home to 450,000Indians, who are as proud to be part of Australia

as they are of their Indian heritage.Shri Modi said there was a time when, for

many of us, Australia was a distant land on thesouthern edge of the world. Today, the world seesAustralia to be at the heart of the Asia Pacific andIndian Ocean region. This dynamic region holdsthe key to this world‘s future; and Australia is atits cross-currents. And, as Australia has becomemore engaged in this part of the world, we welcomeits growing role in driving this region‘s prosperityand shaping its security. Because we, in India,

Page 9: CONTENTS - OFBJP (UK)ofbjpuk.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/ks_dec_01_2014_e.pdf · divine marriage anniversary of Lord Sri Rama and goddesses Sita. It is observed on the fifth day

seek the same future for this world. We also seeAustralia as a vital partner in India‘s quest forprogress and prosperity. He said today, we have agovernment with a clear majority after thirty years. From the remotest village to the biggest cities, thereis a new high tide of hope in India; a new energy.

It is the energy of our youth – the 800 millionpeople below the age of 35 – eager for change, willing to work for it - because, now they believethat it is possible. That they can make it happen. It is this force of transformation that we will

unleash. Shri Modi said see Australia as a majorpartner in every area of our national priority.

He further said we have a new Mission forturning “Made in India” into a global name just asComputer in India is. But, we want to find newpathways to prosperity, not simply travel downthe roads of the previous century. Much of India`sfuture cities and infrastructure is yet to be builtand so we have a unique opportunity to make ourchoices now. And, in every sector – agriculture, food processing, mining, infrastructure, manufacturing, finance and technology, energy;from providing funds and resources to technologyand expertise; working as partners and investors-Australia has immense opportunities toparticipate in India`s progress. In turn, India willbe the answer to your search for new economicopportunities and your desire to diversify yourglobal economic engagement; your source forworld class skills at home or for a manufacturing

location abroad.India’s development, demography and demand

provide a unique long term opportunity forAustralia – and all in the familiar framework ofdemocracy. There is no other example of this naturein the world. Indian investors, too, are coming herein growing numbers and commitments he said.

He said in our inter-connected world, ourshared challenges extend beyond our region.Terrorism has become a major threat for us all. InIndia, we have seen its face closely for three

decades. And, we see it with the claritythat comes with it. Terrorism ischanging in character and expandingin its reach. Internet has maderecruitment and call to violence self-generated. It also feeds off moneylaundering, drug trafficking and armssmuggling.

The PM said we have to deepen ourbilateral security cooperation. But, weneed a comprehensive global strategyfor a global problem. It will require closersecurity cooperation; but, even more, apolicy of no distinction between terroristgroups or discrimination betweennations; a resolve to isolate those whoharbor terrorists, willingness toempower states that will fight them; asocial movement against extremism in

countries where it is most prevalent; and, everyeffort to delink religion and terrorism.

He said since my Government entered office,no region has seen more intense engagement onIndia‘s part than Asia Pacific region - because weunderstand how deeply our future is linked to thisregion. India and Australia can play cricket hardwith each other – and I suspect we will next month. But we see Australia as one of our foremost partnersin the region. I was pleased to host Prime MinisterTony Abbott as my first State Guest in September.

He said it has taken a Prime Minister of India28 years to come to Australia. It should never havebeen so. And, this will change. Australia will not beat the periphery of our vision, but at the centre of ourthought. So, we stand together at a moment ofenormous opportunity and great responsibility. Isee a great future of partnership between India andAustralia and, a shared commitment to realize it.

work but to expand the mass baseof the party, strengthen theorganization and for thepropagation of the ideology soas to take the party to a newheight. From 1950 we have beenworking as Jansangh and thenas BJP. Our party came intoexistence on the basis of ideologyand we marched forward. In thebeginning the ideology wasmocked at, the ideology had tostruggle and it got acceptedwhen this ideology startedgetting respected after 2014 LokSabha elections. It may be saidthat our ideology started gettingrecognition and respect in thecountry and the entire worldfrom 2014 onwards. We came topower in the Centre and statesseveral times before 2014 but forthe first time people gave us fullmajority under the leadership ofNarendra Bhai. We want to carryforward this acceptability andrespect.

There are many parts in thecountry where we have not yetreached. BJP has to reach in thoseparts. There are many stateswhere BJP has formed itsgovernment but there are manyparts in those states where BJP isstill to make its presence. In manyLok Sabha and Vidhan Sabhaconstituency where we may havewon but there may be manybooths where we have not yetreached. This membershipcampaign is to reach upto thatbooth. So far whatever has beensaid should not be taken as if bydialing phone number one willbecome member and thereafter aregister will be prepared andorganizational elections will beheld and this data will stand bythe party. After this the party hasthought over a system wherein

by compiling a list of all themembers a campaign for twomonths will be organized. Ourkaryakartas will go to every newmember. They will give them anintroductory pamphlet of theparty, introduction of the party, welcome them into the party andmake efforts to link them withthe activities of the party. In thisway suppose if 10 crore membersare registered a big campaign ofconnecting seven crore memberswill be taken up by the party inthe next two months. So in themonth of April and May we willtake this contact programme toeveryone and three crore oldmembers will connect sevencrore new members so that theybecome the carriers of BJPideology and become integralpart of the party. For this BJPkaryakartas will have to makeuntiring efforts.

Thereafter in the 6th, 7th

and 8th month Abhyas Varga(Workshop) and trainingprogrammes for 15 lacselected members will beorganized. BJP wants tomake a schedule for thebiggest training progammein the world and party hasplans to link 15 lac selectedmembers including old andnew and special ones withthe spirit of the party.

By compiling our ideology, aim of our work, the history ofthe party till date, introductionof the party leaders, contributionof the party in nation’s politicsand work of our governments weare going to prepare a trainingcapsule and we will conductmega training programme inthese three months to train 15lac karyakartas.

So friends, I only want to saythat if we want to give strengthto this membership campaignthen everyone sitting here in thehall will have to resolve that wehave to take this campaign uptobooth level. If this campaign doesnot reach upto the booth then Ibelieve that we will not get thedesired benefits. This is becausethere should be a symmetricalsystem. A scientific system willhave to be evolved in every stateand by monitoring it strongly itwill have to be percolated to thelowest rung. Then only we willbe able to fulfill the aims ofmaking new members uptobooth level. The caste calculus ofthe booth, the politicalarrangements, situation and thedetails of the change we want tomake in the booth should beworked out wherever BJP has itsgood presence. It may not happeneverywhere but in states likeMadhya Pradesh, Gujarat andRajasthan where we have strongorganization this can be done. Not making it a ritual but to keepin mind as to how to make everybooth a live booth, every boothshould have representation ofevery section of the society andthis should be the focus of themembership drive. In many areasour membership is low, invanavasi areas our membershipis low, in urban slums, Dalitsettlements our membership islow. So wherever we have notbeen able to reach the year 2014is the year of hoisting our flagsin those places, it is a year toexpand BJP to those areas. Sowherever our party is strong andour organization is good, itsmicro planning will be done byour karyakartas. One teamshould be formed in the state

Page 12: CONTENTS - OFBJP (UK)ofbjpuk.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/ks_dec_01_2014_e.pdf · divine marriage anniversary of Lord Sri Rama and goddesses Sita. It is observed on the fifth day

which can work on these linesin full form. And this state levelteam should form District levelgroup which may take this spiritupto booth level. In thismembership drive 10 croremembers can be made. The kindof popularity which NarendraBhai Modi enjoys and the massbase BJP has, making 10 croremembers is not a big thing. But ifwe want to give stability to thepopularity of Narendra Bhai, increase mass base of BJP as aresult of the good works done bythe government then from boothto state all the units should growcompletely and they shoulddevelop fully and consistently. It may only happen when youhave detailed planning in yourstate. This need not be explainedto you as you have been doing itfor years.

This time the election resultsthat have been given by 2014 andthereafter the results given bystates, by using this mass baseBharatiya Janata Party shouldcome forward as a strong partyfor the next 50 years and increasethe expanse of our organizationand for this we want to make useof this festival of organizationthrough membership drive. Youjust have faith in my words that

as between 1947 and 1966 therewas a time for Congress thatwhoever Congress used tonominate for elections peopleused to elect them and peopleused to see as to who was theCongress candidate and thatcandidate used to win theelection. BJP is also going to getthat kind of huge support in thedays to come. We should keep inmind that the beginning ofdecline of Congress started from‘66 because they did not giveimportance to the renewal oforganization. They fell into theactivities of government. They fellinto the activities of makingleaders. They fell into themanipulations of caste withinthe leaders. At the time ofindependence the Congresswhich had reached upto theground level on the basis oforganization by making 25 paisemembers started graduallygetting eroded and the decline ofCongress started from ‘66. By2014 its post of Leader ofOpposition has also been lost. When our good time has begunwe should learn from the historyand see how this good timebecomes longer and perpetuatesand for that this membershipdrive is taken up to make our

organization and ideology reachto the ground level. It is not anexaggeration, you have come tothis meeting as you have adefinite responsibility and themembership drive which isgoing on is a Dandi March of thedemocratic history of the country. When 85 people came out fromthe Sabaramati ashram withGandhiji the Dandi Yatra wasstarted and they did not knowthat they were going to createhistory. Today you people aresitting here as BJP karyakartasin the same manner. Just believemy words that you are also goingto become a big part of thedemocratic history of the countryas this drive is going to be soimportant and result oriented. Therefore I want to say that theplans will go down from abovefor this drive but everyoneshould give new dimension, weshould give new momentum inour own ways and buildenthusiasm of the karyakartasinvolved in the drive by bringingin new things and make thisdrive completely a drive toincrease the strength of theBharatiya Janata Party. I believethat this drive will help inexpansion of the party as I’dsaid during the National Council

Page 13: CONTENTS - OFBJP (UK)ofbjpuk.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/ks_dec_01_2014_e.pdf · divine marriage anniversary of Lord Sri Rama and goddesses Sita. It is observed on the fifth day

meeting that this year is the yearof expansion of BJP. It is a year ofgiving shape to the ideology ofBJP and help in its propagation. And we have to use this throughour membership drive. This timewe have decided to increase 50%of the active members which was5.5 to 6.00 lac earlier. If a statehas 100 active members then ithas to make 150 by increasing50%. If 6 lac active members arein the entire country then wewant to have 9 lac activemembers this time. And we havemade some changes in theeligibility criteria for becomingan active member. Every activemember has to make 100members. So if 9 lac activemembers make 100 memberseach then 9 crore members areeasily registered. And those whomake 100 members only they canbecome active members as everyactive member will have to givea list of 100 members.

A pamphlet in this regardhas been prepared and given toyou in which name, mandal, district , state, mobile number ofthe active member who is beingproposed are to be given. Itmeans that the active memberwho is going to become councilorwill have to get toll free numberdialed before him. And after thathis councilor number will come. That you have to get noted hereand after that address, telephonenumber, PIN code has to be sentthrough sms. In one family morethan one number can be made.BJP has made up its mind to seethat this system has to be strictlyfollowed from PM NarendraModi to booth level karyakartas. You make 100 members. Nine lacmembers make 100 primarymembers of the party and give

the list to the BJP office. BJP willcertify it as this is electronicnumber and with this automaticcertification you will becomeactive member of the party.

In the eligibility criteria ofthe party to become an activemember it was required to give10 days in the party activity inwhich we are bringing a slightrelaxation and in place of 10days we are keeping it 7 daysand also bringing in a changethat in these 7 days full time asper party plan will have to begiven then only you can becomean active member. One whowants to become an activemember will have to give 7-daytime in any locality, slum, Dalitbasti, village or block where BJPhas no member and work formembership and will have tosubmit report. After that once thework is certified he will beinvolved as an active member. One who wants to become BJP

active member it is not a big dealto give 7 days and these 7 daysare to be given in two years. Andthis has to be followed strictlyupto the ground level, thereshould be no relaxation. Thosewho are at state and districtlevel, if they go for meeting, theirtime will be counted within the7 days. For example ifMuralidhar Rao ji goes to TamilNadu in membership drive toenhance the enthusiasm of thepeople then these three days willbe counted. But the karyakartasat mandal level and district levelmay be able to become activemembers only if they tour at theallotted places and make 100members. And BJP has to make9 lac active members fulfillingboth these criteria. I don’t thinkthat it is a big goal. Changingshape and base of party dependson us. Never again betterpolitical situation, politicalleadership and politicalacceptability will be available.Party should make use of thisopportunity. We have to encashthis opportunity. We have to givestability to this mass base. Andfrom this stable mass base weshould take out karyakartascommitted to ideology so thatwork of BJP keep growing for along time, 15-20-25 years to come. The membership drive shouldmove in this direction.

Friends, don’t take this drivelightly. By working for longduration in politics our lifebecome stagnant. Somedecisions and things happenwhich are not in accordancewith our wish. Many times ourpositions are also not good. Irequest you to weed outpessimism, inactivity andstagnation which come in due to

This time we have decided toincrease 50% of the activemembers which was 5.5 to 6.00 lacearlier. If a state has 100 activemembers then it has to make 150by increasing 50%. If 6 lac activemembers are in the entire countrythen we want to have 9 lac activemembers this time. And we havemade some changes in theeligibility criteria for becoming anactive member. Every activemember has to make 100 members. So if 9 lac active members make100 members each then 9 croremembers are easily registered. Andthose who make 100 membersonly they can become activemembers as every active memberwill have to give a list of 100members.

these for three months. Becausethese three months are soimportant that if we work like ateam then we can achieve thegoal of making 10 crore membersat the ground level. It is not thatpeople sitting over here have notdone anything for the party. Itmay so happen that we are notsatisfied with our currentposition in the party but we havecontributed to the party in somemeasure. Now contribute threemonths to the party and makethis drive successful. Take outall the feeling that stops you frombeing active and take this spiritto the booth level as a team.

Friends, the future ofBharatiya Janata Party is veryglorious and the leadership ofModiji has received acceptabilityin the entire country and theworld over. His plans which arepeople oriented and the resultsthat we are getting from thoseplans, I believe that the comingdays are golden. But I want thatby en-cashing that golden futurethe base of the party should bemade so strong that our ideologyin any testing time remainsintact. From the days Jansanghwas formed many such timeshave come. From emergency tothe days of two seats had come.Even after that many a time ourkaryakartas felt hopeless. But theideological base of the Jansanghkaryakartas was clear andtherefore gradually partyovercame this period and wecame to this stage. If we do notmake the ideological clarity ofthe new members of this growingparty and the people who arecoming from outside and set thismembership drive on right trackthen in the time of difficultiesparty will not be able to act

properly. So don’t consider it tobe a routine work. It has beendesigned with lots of thinkingand much detailed planning. And neither I can tell you norimagine the kind of good resultthat we are going to get from thisdrive. And if the huge efforts ofModiji and his popularity get theorganizational backing thenfrom Kashmir to Kanyakumariand from Gujarat to Assam, entire India will come under theumbrella of ‘Kamal’ and we willbe able to witness good days. And not only power, ourprinciples, our ideology shouldreach the youth, should be takento the coming generations andthe new India that will be madein the coming 15-20 years shouldbe built on our fundamentalprinciple, on the basis of ourideology and the development ofthe country should take placewithout diluting our principles. If we have to do this then yoursupport is required. Here thosewho are sitting on the dais, allthe national office bearers, allministers in the government,

everyone are going to work hard. You just have faith in me, no onewill be left. But we have to inspirethe karyakartas upto the groundlevel not through the words butby action. If you makearrangements for his work byyour planning and weed out thelaziness through constantmonitoring then I believe that thisdrive will be definitelysuccessful. Just imagine onething that if BJP becomes worldnumber one party on concreteground then the glory of the BJPand Modi ji will spread in theentire world and we can saywith pride that we are thekaryakartas of BJP. And weshould take the party forwardon this scale. I don’t want to saymore but don’t dilute the criteriaof becoming active member andplease take it to the ground leveland we will definitely achieveour goal. To make 100 membersand give 7 days – if these twocriteria are percolated to theground then I think thateverything will be alright. Ihumbly pray to you all andexpect that you should give threemonths for the BJP. BJP will keepstanding on its strong groundfor many years to come and keepproviding the opportunity tothousands of karyakartas towork for state and nation.

I want to tell all thekaryakartas of the party thatMembership Maha-Abhiyan isthe foundation of a neworganization based politics. Wehave to make this historic effortsuccessful. It will succeed on thebasis of our own activism. Everyone of us will have to own upthis responsibility. This workwill move forward only with ourcomplete participation.

The future of Bharatiya JanataParty is very glorious and the

leadership of Modiji hasreceived acceptability in theentire country and the world

over. His plans which arepeople oriented and the

results that we are gettingfrom those plans, I believethat the coming days are

golden. But I want that by en-cashing that golden future the

base of the party should bemade so strong that our

ideology in any testing timeremains intact.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi onDecember 21 addressed an election rally in

Chandwa, Latehar in Jharkhand. He said he feltfortunate to be addressing an election rally in asmall Panchayat of Jharkhand. He said the hugegathering was indicative of the mood of the people.

Shri Narendra Modi said this also showed that thepeople of this country were no longer going to toleratecorruption and nepotism.

The Prime Minister said those who have virtually

accepted that they cannot win, have now resorted topolitics of assassination. He paid homage to a partyworker Priyaranjan Paswan, and his bodyguard, wholost their lives in a recent act of violence. He saidbullets need to be answered by ballots. He said India’sdemocracy was a model for the whole world, and

nothing should be done to harm it. He saidviolence had no place in politics or society.

He appealed to the misguided youth to giveup the gun which could turn the earth red, andinstead pick up the ploughshare, which willturn the earth green. He invited youth to join thedevelopment mainstream. He said we need toturn the earth green, not red. He praised thecourage of the people who had come to thisrally, saying such a “jan sailaab” (sea ofhumanity) could not be seen even in cities.

The Prime Minister said previous stategovernments were guilty of keeping the peoplepoor, despite the state being rich in naturalresources.

He said development is the only cure for allproblems being faced by the people. He thanked thepeople of Jharkhand for giving him unprecedentedsupport in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

The Prime Minister said he was focused on

Assembly Election Trail

With Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s election rallies in Jharkhand and J&K BJP officially startedits campaign in a big way for the forthcoming assembly elections in the two states ruled by the non BJPopposition parties. The ruling government in Jharkhand is a coalition between Jharkhand Mukti Morcha(JMM), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress party, while the state government in Jammu and Kashmiris a coalition between National Conference (NC) and the Congress party. Apart from Shri Modi BJP NationalPresident Shri Amit Shah and other BJP senior leaders are also addressing rallies in these poll bound states. As per the schedule Shri Modi and Shri Amit Shah will address several rallies in both the states.

The Five phases of polling in the two states will happen on 25th November, 2nd December, 9th December,14th December and 20th December, the counting of the votes for the two states will be conducted on 23rdDecember. The expiry of the term of assembly of Jammu and Kashmir is on 19th January, 2015, and theexpiry of the term of legislative assembly of Jharkhand is on 3rd January, 2015. The Jharkhand assembly has81 members and there are 87 seats in Jammu and Kashmir assembly. As per Election Commission the totalnumber of electors for Jharkhand was more than 2.07 crore, the electors in Jammu and Kashmir was 72.25lakh.

The kind of public support BJP is witnessing this time across the states of Jharkhand and J&K are evenmore encouraging than what the party saw during the Lok Sabha elections. It seems that this huge publicsupport will further encourage BJP Karyakartas, strengthen party’s base and BJP will get thumping victoriesin both the states. We are publishing the excerpts of some speeches made by PM Shri Narendra Modi and BJPNational President Shri Amit Shah for our esteemed readers:

Violence has no place in politics or society : Narendra Modi

want to have public friendly and compassionategovernance, which only BJP is capable of,” he said.

Jharkhand

‘BJP committed to pull Jharkhand alongthe developmental path’

BJP President Shri Amit Shah on November 17 saidthat there was a “contradiction” in Jharkhand

Cabinet as the ruling alliance have been contestingagainst each other in the Jharkhand Assemblyelections. He was addressing public meetings in

Jharkhand.Addressing separate election meetings at

Hussainabad and Garhwa seeking votes for partycandidates, Shri Shah asked how RJD claimed to formgovernment when there was a contradiction in theruling alliance in the state. Congress broke ties withJMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha) last month afterfailing to forge pre-poll alliance with it, but Congresscontinues to support Hemant Soren-led government. While the JMM is contesting alone, Congress and RJDcontinued the alliance for the elections.

He said the party’s agenda was to make a

Congress-free government everywhere, adding the BJPis committed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’svision of development.

Addressing another meeting at Garhwa, Shri Shahsaid BJP was also committed to pull Jharkhand alongthe developmental path at par with Maharashtra andMadhya Pradesh.

Committing to complete the long-pending Kanharirrigation project in Garhwa,Shri Shah said injusticewas done to Jharkhand and the BJP was determinedto put the state on the path of development.

‘Congress never let anygovernment in Jharkhand survive’

On November 16 ,Addressing a huge gathering atLutheran High School grounds in Lohardaga BJP

National President Shri Amit Shah said,”People ofthis state want Jharkhand to be free of the Congress.I decided to start campaigning from Lohardagabecause the state Congress President (SukhdeoBhagat) is contesting from this seat”.

Holding the Congress responsible for seriallapses, corruption and political instability inJharkhand, he said: “During Lok Sabha polls, we gavea call for Congress-free India and you people ofJharkhand gave us overwhelming response with 12out of 14 parliamentary seats. At the national level, voters bundled out the Congress. Now, it isJharkhand’s turn.”

“Madhu Koda tha, jisko Congress ne mukhyamantri banaya aur baad mein jail bhi gaya. Sab kojail bhejiye sir (It was Madhu Koda who was madechief minister by the Congress. He was jailed too. Sir,send everyone to jail),” an excited man from the crowdscreamed.

“That poor tribal fellow had to go to jail oncorruption charges but the Congress leaders whowere equal partners in the scam stayed safe. I am notsupporting Madhu Koda.

He did wrong. But those who corrupted him can’tbe spared,” Shri Shah said.

“Those who profited from corruption must besent to right place that they deserve (read jail). If inthe last 10 years, the Congress-led UPA governmentdid anything, it was corruption, corruption and onlycorruption. A majority government like the one PrimeMinister Narendra Modi is heading at the Centre isvery effective in taking strong decisions. This is whatJharkhand needs,” Shri Shah said. (FOC)

When five months agothe BJP ledGovernment at Centre

came to power, persistentlyrising inflation was a majorchallenge before the government. The common man was vexedwith sky rocketing prices ofessential commodities.Economic mess created by theCongress led UPA governmenthad left the people of country inmiserable situation. Everysegment of Indian economy be itindustrial output, price controlor other segments was facingserious crisis. Now after fivemonths, hard work ofNarendraModi led governmenthas brought everything undercontrol.

The official data released inSeptember show significantdecline in inflation to 5.15percent.It was the lowest in fiveyears. During previousgovernment inflation had goneup to double-digit. When theCongress led UPA was leavingthe rein in May industrialgrowth was at its decadal low.The manufacturing sector wasfacing lack of investment, affecting jobs. Imports washurting small and mediumindustries. Recently quarterlydata released by the CentralStatistics Office (CSO) onNovember 12, 2014 has shownindustrial output in October grewat 2.5%. It was -1.16%in October2013. It means Indian economystarted gathering strength which

was weakened by continuousmisrule of the UPA government. The country industrial outputyear-on-year has lodged totalpositive change of 3.6%.This is a

better sign for any economy. In this November, a separate

data released by the CSO showedretail inflation, as measured bythe consumer price index, slowed to a 5.5% in Octobercompared with the previousmonth’s 6.5%. The October figureis the lowest since thegovernment started computingthe new series of data in January

2.41 a litre, the sixth reduction sinceAugust, and diesel by Rs 2.25 perlitre on the back of fallinginternational oil rates. Both thefuels are now decontrolled.Previous regime of the UPA wasrarely interested to cut prices of fuelwith the falling prices ininternational market.

Tackling rising food inflationModi government took welcomeinitiatives to delist fruits &vegetables including onion fromAgriculture produce MarketingCommittee (APMC) Act. Bydelisting them, these items becomefree from APMC yard taxes andlocal fees. The government hikedthe minimum export price of onionsby 67 percent and brought it underthe Essential Commodities Act tocurb hoarding as prices soared inthe domestic markets. With a viewto discourage onion exports, government had on June 17 set upa minimum price of onion exportsat $300 per tonne. The governmentalso included onions and potatoesunder the purview of stock holdinglimits under the EssentialCommodities Act, 1955.This stepempowered the state governmentsto undertake de-hoardingoperations and to control the pricesof onions and potatoes.

The recent PM NarendraModiworld tour has enhanced the imageof India. Everywhere his leadershipis recognized as strong anddecisive. It has enable him to bringinvestment for India. His “Make inIndia” campaign has restored faithof investors to invest in India. Thegovernment`s decision openingbank account under PradhanMantri Jan-DhanYojana(PMJDY)covering almost every householdhas also brought in very positivechanges towards inclusiveeconomy.

BJP Padyatra against the Congressgovernment evokes good responseThe seven day long Padyatra

flagged off by State BJPpresident Shri Satpal Satti andformer Horticulture Minister andBJP Vice-president Shri NarendraBragta entered its third day on 16November in Himachal Pradesh. The yatra evoked goodresponse. The people, mainly apple growing farmers, are calling it a satyagraha of the Sadak Sangrash Samitiof the fruit growers.

The protest has been launched against theCongress government for not constructing the Rohru-Hartkoti-Theog road in the heart of apple belt of the hillState. Leading the agitation, Shri Bragta addressedactivists on the way asking them to stir up the paralyzedState government.

The Padyatra reached Khara Pather from Rohru on16 November. Addressing a meeting on that occasionShri Bragta said the Congress government during itslast tenure had invited global tenders for this importantroad without taking any permission from the UnionForest and Environment Ministry or seeking permissionfrom the private land owners and village bodies.

When the BJP government in 2007-12 arranged allthe valid permissions, the UPA government at theCentre did not renew the visa of the Chinese companyofficials who were constructing the road.

United States President Barack Obama hascommended the personal leadership role providedby Prime Minister Narendra Modi in finding a

path forward on the World Trade Organization’s globaltrade deal reached between the two countries, a presidentialspokesperson said. Obama had extensive discussions withthe Prime Minister on this issue and appreciates hispersonal leadership in finding a path forward, the WhiteHouse Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in a statementafter US and the government announced that the twocountries have reached an agreement on the TradeFacilitation Agreement (TFA). In Myanmar, where the USPresident met Modi briefly on the sidelines of the EastAsia Summit in Nay Pyi Taw described the Prime Ministeras a man of action. In a statement, Earnest said the importantbreakthrough reached between the US and India will unlockprogress toward the full and immediate implementation ofthe WTO TFA, which will lower the costs of trade fordeveloped and developing countries alike.

“Ending their deadlock at the World TradeOrganisation, India and the United States on November 13reached an agreement under which the subsidy given by theIndian government to farmers through minimum supportprices will not be challenged even if they breach set limits. It is a major victory for the Narendra Modi government inthe international economic diplomacy arena, in which Indiahas shown considerable toughness to protect the interestsof its farmers by vetoing the Trade Facilitation Agreement(TFA). It managed to secure Washington’s support for itsfood security scheme without having to make any majorconcessions. The agreement between India and the USpaves the way for the implementation of TFA that seeksto ease customs rules and could add $1 trillion to the worldeconomy.

In July, India had rejected an agreement on TFA as itwanted the issue of minimum support prices for farmersto be resolved alongside that. Both countries have come toan understanding on the implementation of a December2013 WTO decision on specific food security programmesmaintained by some developing countries, a US governmentstatement said.”

The bilateral agreement makes it clear that a mechanismunder which WTO members will not challenge such foodsecurity programmes under WTO dispute settlementprocedures will remain in place until a permanent solutionon this issue has been agreed and adopted,” the statementadded, noting that the agreement also sets out elements foran intensified programme of work and negotiations to arriveat such a permanent solution. The agreement will now bepresented for consideration by the full WTO membership.”
