Page 1: Contents page codes and conventions

I have used again the main codes and conventions of a music magazine contents page. This is the page if I could id most likely want to do again. I would want to study other magazines more and spend more time on it. The fonts I have used for the bigger page numbers next to the article title and information I feel could have been more edgy and stand out more.

I feel I have challenged and developed pictures that are put onto contents pages as I have put mine onto a grey background to fit into my colour scheme and to make them

stand out more. I think that readers and my target audience are more likely to be drawn to pictures of bands they are excited or interested by so I wanted to highlight them.

The titles of each section I also mounted on a grey background

do readers can easily locate a section and then find the page or section they want. The large

numbers also help this. I wanted to make my magazine

as funk as possible and more visually exciting then just

having lots or same text but more exciting bold text.

On one of the pictures I have added a main piece of text

with red banner behind and I have text on all the images

which tell the reader who it is and a small quote or bit of

information. I have developed on this convention by heading

my text and banner more bold which on my other

pictures it isn’t. I did this as I wanted my audience to be

drawn to this particular article as it was my double page

spread band and interview.

This magazine contents page from Q has a plain background the same as mine and is quite busy

also. The images though don’t have text on them

and for someone who isn’t familiar with the person in

the picture could be completely confused and with no picture directions

have no clue who the person is or what the

picture means.

This is where I have developed and helped my audience by ensuring they can read about the pictures I have on my page
