The Masthead is positioned in the middle of the page. The font is simple and easy to read with a slight design on it that doesn’t make it more difficult to read. The text is white. Necessary information is included in the contents page. Things such as the date and issue number are considered as necessary information. On this magazine these are positioned under the Masthead.

The Masthead is positioned in the middle of the page. The font is simple and easy to read with a slight design on it that doesn’t make it more difficult to read. The text is white.

There is a lot of text in this contents page. The text names bands that are covered in the magazine and gives hints as to what each article is about. It also has a note from the editor – something that is quite rare.

Different types of font are used in the contents page. The sub-headings are in the designed yellow font whereas the Coverlines are in simple black text that is easy to read. Bold text is used for the names of the bands featured in the magazine.

There are six images on this contents page. The biggest one is of the main feature of this issue – My Chemical Romance (MCR). There are also four other pictures of MCR that are smaller teasers of the images that are inside. These are all place in the top half of the page. The smaller MCR images are anchored by the text ‘My Chemical Romance Poster Special!’ There is also an image of the editor which is the same size as the smaller MCR images and is positioned underneath them.

Then there is the small red text that stands out and looks attractive yet it, too, is simple and easy to read (slightly more difficult because of the distracting colour).

There are several different images, positioned in various places across the two pages. The biggest image (and therefore the one that gets the most attention) is a cartoon/anime type picture that the Gorillaz use in their music videos. This indicates that the Gorillaz are the (or one of) main feature/s in this magazine. The other images are related to the other things featured in the magazine and are sub-images.

The main colour scheme for this magazine is red, white and black. This is simple yet effective and shows that the magazine is for mature audiences rather than children, who prefer colourful things
