The Black keys- Turn blueColour: The image on this poster has colours witch make the poster catch your eye therefore enticing you into looking at it. The colours blue and pink in this pattern has made the image create a small optical illusion, as your eyes felt almost hypnotized. The colours also make the center part of the poster to stand out witch is the part of the poster that says the name of the band and album.Layout: the layout of this poster has the bands album cover above the writing witch makes you see the cover first, as people instantly look at the top of a page for example and work their way down. This is done so that fans see the picture and instantly know what it is about. (the black keys album turn blue). The writing is then big as it needs to also make people read it quickly on the move and understand what it is about. Genre: the genre of the band is blues rock, this poster doesn’t conform or go against the typical conventions on what a poster from this genre should be. It is what it is, an eye-catching cool image.Branding the band: this poster has branded the band as a band who like to do things different and like to do new things that others haven't done before. This is probably one of the reasons why this is so successful.

Gorillaz- debut albumColour: The colour in this poster is different to the album cover which is in green. This is more like the colours that where in the digipack that I analyzed for this album. These colours are bright and different. There is no colour scheme witch conforms with the electronica genre conventions. The Gorillaz name is also red like and graphitized like on the album cover.

Layout: The name of the band is at the top of the poster which will catch the eye of people and hopefully make a link between that and the band. Then there is a picture of the animated characters who represent the band witch will make people hopefully make a link again between this poster and the band. Then finally there is the main reason for having this poster, the information that describes what is being advertised.

Genre: This poster does conform to the conventions of the genre that this band is. The genres that this bands music is, is alternate hip hop and electronica. The colours that this poster has and the style in which it is presented for example the graffiti for the writing conforms to the conventions too.

Branding the band: as far as this poster brands the artist it shows that the people in the band are represented by these animated people which is the same case for the rest of the content released by this artist showing something unknown and interesting about the band.

The vintage caravanColour: There is a lot of different colours on this poster which is normal for the vintage caravan due to the genre of this band which is psychedelic rock.

Layout: The posters layout is like any other poster that promotes something. The name of the band is at the top of the tree which at the top of the page. This makes band name stand out. The picture on the poster is random and interesting to look at as it is so weird, therefore this poster is eye catching.

Genre: the genre of the band is psychedelic rock which this poster suits. This poster conforms to this genre as it is something you might hallucinate when under the influence of drugs.

Branding the artist: this poster has branded the artist to be people who are from the psychedelic culture who take drugs, listen to music and make artwork,.

ConclusionIn conclusion the music adverts/ posters all have a certain look about them that conforms to the genre that they are as well as putting their own spin on it. For example the vintage caravan’s music is all psychedelic rock which is then shown on their posters album covers and music videos. For the song Intro by alt J I will look into its genre and other posters and music videos from the band. So that I can make a poster. However from this research I can see that I need to make something that’s out there and unique.
