• For forty years, the Cooperative Education & Internship Association, Inc. has provided professional services to our members in cooperative education and internship programs in colleges, universities, government, and business/industry.

CEIACEIA
• CEIA was founded in September 1963.
• The original mission: To provide professional development and resources to the field of cooperative education.
• The first annual conference was held in September, 1963 at the Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Donald Hunt (63-65) of the University of Detroit was elected the association's first president.

• The original mission of the organization as envisioned by its founders in 1963 is carried out through an expanding number of training activities, an annual national conference, and support and encouragement for on-going research and publications.
• CEIA is a member driven non-profit organization.
GovernanceGovernance
• The membership has a twenty panel board to represent its interests and directs the Association to meet its mission and goals. The President serves as the chief elected officer.
• Elections are held yearly just prior to the annual conference. Newly elected officers are installed at the conference in the Spring of each year.
