ChallengeIBI-TECHNO105 Plan
The IBIDEN Group was founded in 1912 as Ibigawa Electric Power Co., Ltd. to promote the local economy. Throughout its long history of 105 years, the business environment surrounding the Group has changed dra-matically. In any circumstances, we have tirelessly made a united effort to pursue the innovation of our pro-prietary technologies and continued to develop products that meet the needs of the times.
By inheriting IBIDEN’s DNA and following in the footsteps of our predecessors, every one of our members is committed to working with integrity and in harmony with others, while courageously meeting challenges posed by the changing times. We are also determined to realize the sustainable evolution of IBI-TECHNO—our unique technologies and values—into the future. “We contribute to the progress of society through innova-tive technology, with respect for both individuals and the global environment”—all IBIDEN Group members will make a united effort to fulfill this corporate philosophy, which has been cultivated over our long history. We greatly appreciate your continued support for the IBIDEN Group.
Pillar of the strategy
Under the current consolidated five-year medium-term management plan, “Challenge IBI-TECHNO 105 Plan” (FY2013 to FY2017), we have been work-ing to build a corporate structure that can respond flexibly to changes in the business environment, with a focus on developing the human resources needed to sustain and grow our businesses over the next 100 years.
In addition to our ongoing pursuit of IBI-TECHNO innovations through genchi (actual site)/genbutsu (actual thing)/jigakari (on-site solution of problems), 5S activities, TPM activities, Ji Kotei-Kanketsu (built-in quality with ownership) activities, and cross-section teamwork activities, we will actively take on new challenges to seek a new level of growth, by encouraging employees to have a sense of ownership in their work and boosting their motivation through the promotion of active communication, goal-sharing and flexible delegation of au-thority between superiors and subordinates.
We will also strive to strengthen the competitiveness of our existing busi-nesses and accelerate the development of new products so as to ensure the suc-cessful launch of the new medium-term management plan, which will start in fiscal 2018.
While focusing on human resource development, we aim to become a company that continues to grow stably and em-braces diversity in the workplace

We have established the IBIDEN Standard for Em-ployee Behavior and implement activities aimed to promote awareness of it. We also set targets in each plant for voluntary compliance activities and carry them out each year. We aim to enhance the level of these compliance activities by applying to differ-ent plants.
We aim to enhance our corporate value ・ By raising awareness of the need for
IBIDEN to act responsibly and hon-estly in the interest of sustainable operations
・ By fulfilling our responsibilities in a well-balanced manner from an eco-nomic, environmental and social standpoint
・ By working in partnership with all of our stakeholders
Compliance promotion activities
We clarify the figures of each qualification and carry out education and training to enhance our strength in order to strengthen to the company that continues to grow and develop on a permanent basis.
Human resource developmentIn fiscal year 2008, we embarked on a forest building initiative: “IBIDEN’s Forest.” This activity takes place chiefly in Higashi-Yokoyama, the place where the Company operates its initial hydroelectric power generation busi-ness. Together with the local public, employees and former employees, we will continue to carry out sustainability activities aimed at maintaining harmony with nature.
This forest area is equivalent to some 58 foot-ball fields.

Measures to develop clean energyThe history of the IBIDEN Group began from a project of constructing a hydroelectric power plant in the upstream part of the Ibi River to bring modern industry to local society by providing them with electricity . We cur-rently own three hydroelectric power plants, and through these contribute to conserving the global environment by providing clean energy without producing CO2 for more than 100 years, since IBIDEN was founded.
Equivalent to the annual energy consump-tion of about 42,000 households.
The IBIDEN WAY—our corporate philosophy passeddown through generations and across borders We strive to achieve sustainable growth by implementing CSR management.

Technology and Business Changes
We have expanded our business through creating new productsby evolving and combining our own existing technologies.
IBIDEN Corporate Profile 201705 06
Business & Product Electronics Operation
With our leading - edge technologies, we lead the world in the electronics field.
Nanometer wiring on IC chip does not directly interconnect with micrometer wiring on Printed Wiring Board (PWB). An IC package (a board with various electronic components mounted) makes it possible to bridge the nano-and micron-world as well as to protect IC chip from external dirt and humidity. IC package substrate is important compo-nents that function together with IC chip, and IBIDEN continually builds added value together with the improvement in IC chip technology.
PC Components
This product is important components for con-necting IC chips, which serve as the brain of a smartphone, to Printed Wiring Board (PWB). IBIDEN provides thin, high-density substrate that can be mounted with the latest flip chip (FC) to support a smartphone's various functions.
Printed Wiring Board (PWB)
Free Via Stacked Up Structure (FVSS) enables free circuit design and highdensity wiring, allow-ing more miniaturizing electronic components to be mounted. Furthermore, the e-Flex substrate realizes space saving by combining FVSS and a bendable flex substrate to eliminate the use of a connector for connecting substrates.
Roles of FC-CSP Substrate Features of FVSS and the e-Flex Substrate

We mainly provide IC Package Sub-strate mounted with the latest f l ip chips, used in products such as MPUs and chip sets of computers (PC) and products designed for gaming ma-chines. Furthermore, we collaborate with our business partner semiconduc-tor manufacturers from the stage of their next generation development and beyond, offering high quality, high reli-ability products and technologies in a timely manner.
