OCTOBER 25, 2015
The Liturgy of the Day
My brothers and sisters, the
Lord has done great things for
us. As we begin our celebration
today, let us allow this refrain
from today’s psalm to resound
in our hearts and fill us with
joy. Just as Jesus healed the
blind, so can our Lord reach out
and heal our brokenness. May
our prayer today be one of
gratitude for God’s great
works.
a la Liturgia del Día
Mis hermanos y hermanas, el Señor
ha hecho grandes cosas por
nosotros. Al dar comienzo a nuestra
celebración de hoy dejemos que la
respuesta al salmo responsorial de
hoy resuene en nuestro corazón y
nos llene de alegría. Igual que Jesús
curó al ciego, nuestro Señor puede
tendernos los brazos y curar
nuestros quebrantamientos. Que
nuestra oración de hoy sea de
gratitud por las grandes obras de
Dios.

nuestra liturgia bautismal) (Marcos 10:50). Aunque
comprometido y dispuesto a seguir a Jesús.
pide examinar nuestra propia respuesta.

Men’s Christ Renews His Parish Retreat
a Lesson in Love
On a beautiful autumn weekend in October, 25 men
from our parish joined together in celebration of the
second Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) Men’s
Retreat. Led by Lay Director Corbett Lewis and
with the help of retreat team members from both
Corpus Christi and St. Gregory the Great Parish in
Bluffton the participants had time to hear powerful
testimonies from other lay leaders, celebrated the
Sacrament of Reconciliation, participated in Mass
on both Saturday night and Sunday afternoon and
developed friendships that help to bring a true sense
of Christian community.
Spiritual direction throughout the weekend was led
by Father Ray, Deacon Coleman Parks and Deacon
Greg Sams.
All of the participants and retreat team leaders want
to express a sincere appreciation to all of the people
behind the scenes who prayed, prepared meals and
organized the many activities throughout the
weekend! The experience was a true lesson in love
and faith.

The Silence of Eucharistic Adoration
“Come to me all you who labor and are
heavy laden, and I will give you
rest” (Matthew 11:28)
“Beyond the power of silence in the lives of
individuals and the power of Christ’s
presence in our tabernacles, I can attest also
to the power of silence and his presence in a community.
There is a phenomenon reemerging in the Catholic world
known as Eucharistic adoration. There are more and more
parishes that have adoration chapels, and many are open
twenty- four hours a day. It may be considered old-
fashioned and overly pious by some, but my experience has
been that wherever you find Eucharistic adoration in a
parish, those communities are more vibrant. The people are
more spiritually focused, more involved, more generous with
God, and the communities tend to be thriving.”
The above quote was taken from the book, Rediscover
Catholicism, author, Matthew Kelly.
Adoration at Corpus Christi is every Wednesday after
the 12:15 pm Mass and continues until 7:00 pm with Benediction. Stop in the church, find the peace. For more
information on the growing Eucharistic Adoration Ministry
