Chickens... The chickens went into the coop today for the first time. They go back into the hot box of a night but they are growing so quickly they wont fit in there much longer. Thanks to all the families who have signed up to a date to look after the chickens for us. As you can see the roster is full up untill half way through Term 1 next year. If you were one of the families who put their hand up earlier to say you would support the school with this project, you can still contact me next year to let me know which dates you are available for. The Dias family (on Wilga Street) have agreed to be our pickup and drop off house so.... the Chook keys will be left with them at the end of each week during the holidays and new families can pick them up from there on the Monday each week. During school time the keys will be available on a Friday afternoon from the front office and they can be dropped back on a Monday morning. An instruction sheet will be given to all families on the roster and another will be laminated and posted in the coop just in case. Please ensure the roster goes on your refrigerator. An emergency contact number will be attached to the keys just in case there is a chicken emergency. P&C Meeting... We had two new parents attend our meeting last week which was fantastic! The P&C set out their plans for fundraising next year and we have a busy time ahead. I look forward to working with this great group of parents again. I am sure I speak on behalf of all our parents, students and teachers when I say a big thank you to this dedicated group of parents. Kinder Orientation... Afternoon Tea this week! Zoe and Sarah, both current Kinder Mum’s, are organising a get together and a light afternoon tea on 23rd November. We would love as many current kinder Mum’s and Dad’s to come along as possible. I have some get to know you games to play, it should be a lot of fun. Silver Afternoon Tea... This Thursday! I am looking forward to spending some time with these exceptional students. They are welcome to come in Mufti on the day. See you around the playground! CPS Band PerformanceJust a few reminders for students and groupies a t tending the band p e r f o r m a n c e a t Wo l l o n g o n g Amphitheatre tomorrow.Our performance time is scheduled for 1pm-2pm. This includes our setting up and pack down time. I anticipate we will perform all our classic hits with several solo items which should last approximately 20mins. Students will have lunch at school but will need to take their recess and a drink to the mall. See you there!

I could not have been more proud of the girls. You were amazing and we all appreciate the time and effort that you have put into getting to where you are today. Got too many books?It’s that time of year when we start to clear out the old and make room for the new. Mrs Strauss is taking up a collection of second-hand books to be reused in our Stage 1 classrooms. If you find that you need to pass on some children's picture books, please send them into Mrs Strauss. I am happy to collect them right up until the end of the year.A great way to pass on the gift of reading! Thank you and we appreciate your generosity.
You should read this book because it is about an unwanted kitten. Only one girl wants to have her, but she pretends she doesn’t like the kitten. It is a fantastic book for people who really like kittens and animals. It features lots of good illustrations and Holly uses heaps of great descriptive words in her writing. Zoe- Arinya

Carols By Candlelight ‘Tis the season to be jolly…..
C h r i s t m a s c e l e b r a t i o n s a r e approaching fast and the fabulous P&C Committee of Corrimal Public School are hoping you have diarised our Carols by Candlelight evening on Wednesday, 5th December 2012. The evening will kick off at 5.30pm, be sure to enter through the Wilga Street entrance. There will be sausage sizzles, steak sangas, coffee, ice creams, LED candles, a silent auction and lots more on the night. Bring your beautiful (or not so beautiful) voices along to sing carols along with our local Anglican
Church band. We hope to see all our school families and friends there joining the Christmas festivities.

Canteen News...All canteen volunteers need to let Ann Maree know whether they will be re-volunteering for canteen next year or not. There is a sheet available in the canteen for volunteers to fill out days available and preferred partners. If you do not let Ann Maree know either way then you will automatically be re-rostered on to your previous days.
