The Courier is week’s meeting of the Fairfield City Council has been moved to the Camas Senior Center to accommo- date a report by the Com- munity Review team. Last summer, a team of eleven community develop- ment professionals visited Fairfield to evaluate eco- nomic development, infra- structure and recreational opportunities in the com- munity. On ursday, April 14th, the team will return to Camas County to present their findings. is is a unique oppor- tunity for the residents of Fairfield to see their com- munity through the eyes of individuals from outside the area. e goal of the Com- munity Review is to provide communities with objective information from develop- ment professionals, create a forum to express internal leadership viewpoints, and to give citizens an opportu- nity to voice their opinions. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. (125 Willow Ave West) Refreshments will be provided. Other item on the City Council’s agenda include fireworks donations, bounce house request for Camas Days, spring clean up, and Arbor Day. The Idaho Community Review is a collaborative project of the Association of Idaho Cities, Idaho Depart- ment of Commerce, the U.S. Department of Agriculture - Rural Development, the U.S. Department of Hous- ing & Urban Development, Idaho Housing & Finance Association, University of Idaho, Idaho Rural Partner- ship, and a host of other fed- eral, state, local, and private organizations. Fairfield Community Review Roadwork On U.S. 93 Rehabilitating five U.S. 93 bridges between Shoshone and Carey will require short delays this week for traffic at each location. e Idaho Transportation Department’s bridge work will ensure struc- tural surface and integrity to extend overall bridge life. Work began Monday, April 11, at two bridges cross- ing the Little Wood River located at mileposts 199 and 200 in Blaine County. Work on three other bridges is expected to begin in May. ose bridges span the Mil- ner-Gooding Canal at mile- post 167 near Shoshone, the Little Wood River at 177 south of Richfield and Silver Creek at milepost 198 near the Lincoln/Blaine County Line. Work is expected to be completed by mid-June. e Idaho Transportation Board advanced a group of 27 projects in 2015 using funds allocated by the Ida- ho Legislature for the state’s first transportation-revenue increase in nearly two de- cades. Doing so enabled the advancement of dozens of other critically needed road and bridge projects statewide in the future. is bridge work is one of the initial group of projects. Tax Refund Spaghetti Feed is Saturday, April 16th, the Fairfield American Legion Post #19 will host an All You Can Eat Spaghetti feed at the Fairfield Legion Hall.
