BCM 5000: ISO 22301 LEAD AUDITOR

This is a 5-day instructor-led course. The course is constructed around a case study and each activity is applied to the case study as we move through the course. There are auditing activities and multi-media that provides practice in applying and gaining an understanding of the requirements of ISO 22301.

Also included are small quizzes taken during the course. The purpose of these is to measure what you have learnt and what areas need improving on.

BCM 5000 teaches the principles and practices of independent auditing of a BCMS. It guides the student through the audit process using a balance of formal instruction and practical case study activities. The focus of the course content is on the requirements of the ISO 22301 and how these requirements are implemented in a business continuity management system.

BCM 5000 provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to conduct and lead effective business continuity audits in accordance with the requirements of ISO 22301: 2012, ISO 19011: 2012, and ISO 17022: 2012.

Attendees will also gain the necessary knowledge to prepare for an external audit as well as how to develop a standards-based business continuity program.

On Day 5 of the course there is a 4-hour exam. If you pass the examination you will be awarded an ISO 22301 Lead Auditor Certificate (ANSI) which lasts indefinitely.

BUSINESS IMPACT ANALYSISThis one day course provides a method for conducting a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) within an organisation. The tutor dispels the myth that BIA is cloaked in mystique. In the seminar, the theory is expanded with practical examples. The result is that the participants leave ready to undertake a BIA within their own organisation.

This course usually runs consecutively with two others - Writing the BC Plan and Business Continuity Basics. Together, these three courses give an excellent grounding in BCM and the student will leave with all the skills necessary to set up a basic BCMS within their organisation. Please contact us for more information about attending these three courses consecutively.

SUPPLY CHAIN & CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT

The course, currently the only one of its kind, aims to explore when and how to better develop and integrate the Supply Chain and Continuity Management disciplines and life cycles.

All organisations large and small are increasingly dependent on their suppliers, supply chains and outsourced operations to provide vital aspects of their products and services to customers yet suffer from confused internal strategies and policies from departments with historically siloed perspectives.

The course will look at how best to align departmental priorities and form a consistent approach to suppliers, partners and other interested parties in the supply chain. Naturally, the course is entirely consistent with current thinking on risk and resilience measures as well as ISO22301 and the latest BCI Good Practice Guidelines (GPG 2013).

This is a specialised course which we run in-house. Please contact us using the details below for a bespoke quote. See page 15 for more information on our in-house training options.

ESSENTIALS OF BCM E-LEARNINGEssentials of BCM is an online learning resource which gives a complete overview of the Business Continuity Management (BCM) lifecycle in keeping with the Business Continuity Institute’s Good Practice Guidelines and ISO 22301.

The course contains a level of information roughly equivalent to that of a one-day classroom based course. It explains the key concepts of BCM and will help the student to gain a good understanding of what is required in order to implement BCM within an organisation. All aspects of the BCM lifecycle are examines in the course from BCM Programme Management through to Review Maintenance and Embedding of BCM arrangements.

RAISING BCM AWARENESS E-LEARNINGThis online course contains much of the material from the first module of the Essentials of BCM course but is designed to be used for an entirely different purpose.

Whereas ‘Essentials’ is intended to be used only by potential BCM practitioners and BCM department representatives, the awareness raising course is designed to be used by all members of an organisation - in order to help to Embed BCM within the Organisation’s culture. Because of this, the module focuses on what BCM is and why it is important. It does not go into the majority of BCM concepts or methodology. The course is roughly one eighth the length of the ‘Essentials’ course.
