community teams and care management

For managers and team leaders of community multidisciplinary teams. Leading a team of practitioners from different professions is a difficult task, especially without clear authority and support from higher management. Relationships with profession-managers are particularly important, but these roles are themselves changing and unclear. Often community services are set up without changing traditional systems and structures and team leaders have to build a team philosophy while managing the conflicts and contradictions which arise. This workshop draws on a successful seven-year programme of research and consultancy with over 8 0 teams which has built up an understanding of the problems and how to prevent or overcome them. No assumptions are made about a single best type of team leader role or team organisation - a number of types of interprofessional co-operation are considered for different circumstances. Details from above address.

In addition to the national Brunel workshops, a programme of on-site workshops can be arranged and may be more cost-effective. Details, costs and independent evaluations from above address.
