Patient Endurance

Lent is over. Holy Week was two weeks ago. Easter Sunday just passed. We are celebrating the glory of Christ’s resurrection. The glorious exultation flowed from a crushing emotional defeat when Christ was sentenced to death on the cross and his rising from the dead.

The Church reminds us that our future glory can only be attained if we accept with patient endurance the crosses that we have in life. Our lives inevitably contain disappointments, failures, losses and betrayals. Shaken by them, we cannot be complacent. We have to listen and obey Jesus Christ as did Peter and his companions to cast our nets and try again after working all night and catching nothing. Jesus is asking each of us for our loving and willing commitment, saying: “Please feed my sheep.”

We can’t be complacent here in our parish. Shaken a little due to our courtyard construction, we have to patiently endure taking a long walk to enter the church and commit by sharing our resources lovingly and willingly. And I, too, am asking each of you, saying: “Please help our parish church.”

God bless.

Father Rolyn Francisco

Resistencia Paciente

Padre Rolyn Francisco

families to pray and promote vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life. The consecrated Chalice is a tangible reminder of this special intention for the Church. A vocation is a call from the Holy Spirit, a gift from God that is nurtured in prayer. We hope that those who bring the cup home will continue to pray daily for vocations. The Vocation Chalice is available to be checked out for up to two weeks. Sign up forms for the Vocation Chalice can be filled out in the Parish Office, or on the Christ the King website: http://ctk-catholic.org/vocation-chalice/.

Praise to the Lord the Almighty the King of creation. O my soul praise Him for He is your health and salvation. Come all who hear brothers and sisters draw near. Praise Him in glad adoration.

Praise to the Lord above all things so mightily reigning. Keeping us safe at his side and so gently sustaining. Have you not seen? All you have needed has been met by his gracious ordaining.

Hallelujah, hallelujah. Hallelujah, hallelujah.

Cf. Ps 66 (65): 1-2 Cry out with joy to God, all the earth; O sing to the glory of his name. O render him glorious praise, alleluia.

Oh how could it be, that my God would welcome me, Into this mystery? Say, “Take this bread take this wine, Now the simple made divine, For any to receive.”

By Your mercy we come to Your table, By Your grace You are making us faithful.

Lord, we remember You, And remembrance leads us to worship. And as we worship You, Our worship leads to communion. We respond to Your invitation, we remember You

See His body, His blood, know that He has overcome, Ev'ry trial we will face. And none too lost to be saved, None too broken or ashamed, All are welcome in this place

and never be the same? Will you risk the hostile stare

should your life attract or scare? Will you let me answer pray’r in you and you in me?

Will you let the blinded see if I but call your name? Will you set the pris’ners free and never be the same?

Will you kiss the leper clean, and do such as this unseen,

And admit to what I mean in you and you in me?

Will you love the ‘you’ you hide if I but call your name?

Will you quell the fear inside and never be the same? Will you use the faith you’ve found

to reshape the world around, Through my sight and touch and sound in you

and you in me?

Lord, your summons echoes true when you but call my name.

Let me turn and follow you and never be the same. In your company I’ll go

where your love and footsteps show. Thus I’ll move and live and grow in you

and you in me.

THERE IS A HIGHER THRONE Keith Getty/Kristyn Lennox, © 2002 Thankyou Music/PRS admin by

There is a higher throne than all this world has known,

Where faithful ones from every tongue will one day come.

Before the Son we’ll stand, made faultless through the Lamb;

Believing hearts find promised grace; Salvation comes.

Hear heaven’s voices sing; Their thunderous anthem rings

Through emerald courts and sapphire skies, their praises rise.

“All glory, wisdom, power, strength, thanks and honor are

To God, our King Who reigns on high, forevermore!”

And there we’ll find our home; our life before the throne.

We’ll honor Him in perfect song where we belong. He’ll wipe each tear-stained eye

as thirst and hunger die. The Lamb becomes our Shepherd King;

We’ll reign with Him.

Let no one caught in sin remain inside the lie of inward shame. We fix our eyes upon the cross and run to Him, Who showed great love, and bled for us. Freely You’ve bled for us.

Christ is risen from the dead, trampling over death by death, Come awake, come awake, come and rise up from the grave. Christ is risen from the dead, we are one with Him again, Come awake, come awake, come and rise up from the grave.

Beneath the weight of all our sin, You bowed to none but heaven’s will. No scheme of hell, no scoffer’s crown, no burden great can hold You down. In strength You reign. Forever let Your Church proclaim.

Oh death, where is your sting? Oh hell, where is your victory? Oh Church, come stand in the light. The glory of God has defeated the night! Sing it! Oh death, where is your sting? Oh hell, where is your victory? Oh Church, come stand in the light. Our God is not dead. He’s alive! He’s alive!
