2015 Advent Giving Tree Angels
This program aids families in our parish community and within our parish boundaries by helping to provide Christmas gifts for children ages 0 to 14. With your
participation and generous support, our parish community can again make a difference that will brighten the
faces of many young boys and girls this Christmas.
As you prepare your heart and your home for Christmas, we invite you to take an Angel Tag (one or more) from the
trees at the back of the Church and provide the gift(s) requested. If you select an Angel Tag requesting a gift
card, we encourage you to purchase the gift card through the school ScripToGo Gift Card Program, so that Christ
the King School benefits as well as the child the card is for.
Please return gift cards to the Welcome Center or Parish Office. Bring your selected gift(s) unwrapped, with the
Angel Tag(s) securely taped to the gift, to the back of the Church or the Parish Center no later than:
Wednesday, December 16, 2015 by 3:00 p.m.
Gifts will be distributed to the families on
Saturday, December 19.
Thank you for your generosity, and have a
Blessed Advent!
VOCATION CHALICE The purpose of the Chalice Program is to encourage families to pray and promote vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life. The consecrated Chalice is a tangible reminder of this special intention for the Church. The Second Vatican Council highlights the responsibility of the laity to pray for and support vocations.
A vocation is a call from the Holy Spirit, a gift from God that is nurtured in prayer. When we pray for vocations, we lift up to our Father those men and women whom He is calling to follow Him in a very special way. We hope that those who bring the cup home will continue to pray daily for vocations. The Vo-cation Chalice is available to be checked out for up to two weeks.
Sign up forms for the Vocation Chalice can be filled out in the Parish Office, or on the Christ the King website: http://ctk-catholic.org/vocation-chalice/

Perpetual Adoration
“Come to the waters, all you who thirst; seek the Lord while He can be found.” An hour that has just one adorer (yellow or red on the hours chart) needs to have additional adorers so that if one is not able to attend someone is still there that hour. Committed Hourly Adorers are identified with a sign hung on their pew. Our Mother Mary committed herself when she was asked to be the mother of Jesus. Each week we commit ourselves to an hour of adoration of Jesus when we attend Mass. We also have the opportunity to extend this adoration weekly, privately and personally before the Exposed Eucharist at the St. Peregrine Shrine when we commit to be an adorer for a specific hour. In addition to the Hours Chart we have posted, you can go to www.cancershrine.org and then to the Adoration Page and click on the monstrance to see where we need help. There is also a link to the registration form that can be printed and submitted to the Parish Office. Call Dick at (602) 300-8562 or Email: [email protected]

Let us Help You with Your Christmas Shopping — Purchase Gift Cards from the CTK Scrip Program!
Did you know that Christ the King sponsors a Scrip Program whereby you can purchase gift cards (the same gift cards sold at stores and restaurants) and earn FREE money for yourself and CTK!
CTK sells gift cards for grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, movie theaters, department stores, online retailers and more! Rebates are generated when you purchase Scrip because CTK buys the gift cards at a discount, and then sells them to you at face value. The difference, or “rebate,” is then split 50/50 with you!
The CTK Scrip Program keeps an on-hand inventory of gift cards for immediate purchase for about 80 of our best-selling retailers. These are our "ScripToGo" cards and can be purchased from the Scrip Cart after mass.
Visit our new website at www.ctkscrip.weebly.com for all the details about the CTK Scrip Program and how you
can earn FREE money just by “Changing How You Shop!”
HAND CARVED in BETHLEHEM
PLEASE STOP BY THE TABLES OF RELIGIOUS WARES (Nativity set, rosaries, statues, crucifixes, charms, etc.)
AFTER ALL THE MASSES THE WEEK END OF December 19 & 20.
Ayman Khair represents about 140 Christian families from Bethlehem. These families have been dependent upon sales of their hand carved religious articles to tourists of the Holy Land. Due to the conflict in the Middle East, the tourism has been cut off. In order to survive, they have turned to Christian communities in the United States to purchase their articles.
These hand carved religious articles are spectacular. Carved from wood of the sacred Olive tree, this workmanship has been traditional for these families for hundreds of years. It is hoped that through the efforts of Mr. Khair that these families have a little income and are able to stay living in the Holy Land. Amazingly enough, The Christian population dropped from 22 % to less than 2% in the last 30 years. Thank you in advance for your support.
Note : These Religious Article make great Christmas Gifts!

CALIZ VOCACIONAL

diciembre.
¡Que tengan un bendecido adviento!
