CurriculumWe use the Handwriting without Tearscurriculum for writing numbers andletters. Our school incorporates theJolly Phonics program to learn sounds.We follow the Illinois Early LearningStandard developed by the IllinoisState Board of Education.

Exploratory TimeChildren arrive and are greeted by theteachers. Then they work with puzzles,read books, and investigate items in the“discovery areas.” The children are freeto choose from a variety of centers thatare designed to enhance the day’sactivities and stimulate intellectual,social and muscle development.Activities include daily painting,computer use, mastering educationalgames and puzzles. The league will be separatedinto four teams and you will compete each week against each other using various formats ofplay. Prospect Heights Lions Club On March 26, 1954, this club was chartered by LionsInternational. We stand on a proud record of service to theVisually Impaired, Hearing Impaired, and to our owncommunity. Rental Procedures Rentals are subject to Park District approval. The approvalprocess may take up to a few days, so please planaccordingly. Facility use is subject to availability andrequests are granted based on appropriateness.

The application process is as follows:

1. Applicants must sign and complete a district facility/parkapplication permit at the Gary Morava Recreation Center.

Do NOT include payment at this time. Payment is due uponapproval of request.

2. Upon approval of request, applicants will be notified anda $100 deposit is required to secure the date.

3. Applicants must submit full payment of fees by the duedate established in the confirmation form.

NOTE: Prospect Heights Park District programs andactivities have first priority.

Registration InformationInsurance The Prospect Heights Park District does not provide accident insurance for participants in park programs. There is no insurancefor loss of personal property.

The Prospect Heights Park District is subject to the LocalGovernmental and Governmental Employees Tort Immunities Act,which grants immunities and defenses to claims arising of the useof recreational properties. Therefore, the Prospect Heights ParkDistrict is not responsible for loss of personal property orparticipation in recreation programs.

Partner Resident Agreement The Prospect Heights, Mount Prospect and River Trails ParkDistricts entered into a joint partner district agreement in 2001. Asa partner resident of these two neighboring park districts, ProspectHeights Park District residents enjoy access to facilities, programsand events offered at our partner districts at resident rates with theexception of golf which is offered at a special partner resident rate.

Refunds and Transfers A full refund will be issued if the registered participant is not placedin the program of choice and is placed on the waiting list.

Once a program has begun, no refunds will be made unless a medical excuse is presented.

There is a $5 service fee if you request a refund or cancel your registration. All refunds under $5 must be picked up at the GaryMorava Recreation Center.

There will be a $3 service charge if you transfer out of a program.

No refunds, not even medical, are given for deposits, passes, tripsor even special events before or after the event, unless canceled bythe park district.
