Remote troubleshooting contributes to reliable crane operationABB’s 24/7 remote troubleshooting service enables a fast response if a critical situation with cranes should occur.

Instead of sending a service engineer to the site, the experienced and highly skilled engineer in ABB Cranes RDS center connects to the terminal’s system to acquire data from the Crane Information Management System (CIMS). Our engineers have comprehensive knowledge of the system and its components. This allows them to immediately analyze the root cause of the failure and, in many cases, propose fast, corrective measures.

If the problem requires actions to be taken on site, such as replacing a faulty component, the engineer on duty can quickly dispatch an ABB service engineer, or support the terminal’s maintenance crew in taking the necessary actions.

A secure and reliable remote connectionTo ensure privacy of information, several security measures are in place when using ABB’s Remote Diagnostic Services.

A secure VPN connection is used when ABB’s RDS Center connects to your CIMS. Access to the system is only possible when permission has been given by a named contact person in your organization.

To further ensure the security of the remote connection, all procedures, such as times for uploading data, are defined in detail with you in advance.
