Model Decomposition (Finite Element Method)
Whole Domain Split into sub-domains
•Each sub-domain has a processor•Message are passed between processors in different sub-domains

•The primary goal of this project is to port an existing MPI crash simulation code to the SGI 3700
•To compare and contrast the differences between MPI and OpenMP implementations
•Identify the most salient reasons why MPI is preferred over OpenMP for this application
•Determine whether or not MATLAB can be used to simulate deformation
•Identify an area in which there is either a lack of research being conducted or needs improvement
