The Lion King Experi-enceDear Parents and Community Members,

This spring Creekside will come together to create a Musical Theater Performance. Based on high interest and mass appeal, we have selected “The Lion King” as our production. This musical inspires with its strong music, fun characters and grand setting. The African Savannah will come to life in our school, with the help and talents of many of our fami-lies and staff.

In January, we will have auditions for the cast. All Students in grades 3-5 are welcome to audition, regardless of choir involvement. (More infor-mation will go out closer to auditions.) The show will be Double Cast. (One cast will be the Ensemble for the other cast.) This means that we are making a great effort to maximize the speaking roles across as many students as possible. Before we begin rehearsals, we will work to build the sets and character costumes. In a nod to the Original Broadway Stag-ing, we are attempting to incorporate puppetry into some of the cos-tumes. There will be student AND Adult Opportunities for scenery painting and construction, puppet construction, mechanics, backstage crew, costumes, dancers and actors.
