We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated staff to support our students both inside and outside of the classroom. Have a wonderful two week break and we look forward to seeing everyone when school resumes on Tuesday 24th July 2018. Semester 1 Academic reports Twice a year, parents receive a written academic report providing information on a student’s learning in each of the six Key Learning Areas. These include; English; Mathematics; Creative Arts; Human Society and Its Environment (which includes history and geography); Personal Development, Health and Physical Education; and Science and Technology. The Semester One reports will be sent home on Wednesday 4th July 2018. I encourage you to discuss your child’s report with them, identifying their strengths and areas they can improve upon. If you have any questions regarding your child’s report please contact your child’s teacher. Canteen Our newly refurbished canteen opens tomorrow. The canteen will be open each week on Tuesdays-Fridays. Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to assist in the canteen. The ordering process will be the same as it was previously. Canteen order forms were sent home last week. Please ensure all orders are placed in the canteen box prior to 9:00am. Underground Hotspot update Last weekend, underground gas wells were successfully installed surrounding the area of the underground hot spot to enable information to be captured on the amount and types of gas within the subsurface. Not only was it a gorgeous winter day, it was a wonderful example of our students demonstrating our three expectations of being respectful, responsible and safe. Our students were striving to achieve their best and displaying excellent sportsmanship. Congratulations to all students for an outstanding effort. Thank you to Mrs Harris for her organisation of the day and to the teachers and the students from Warrawong High school for their assistance.

YearMulticultural Public Speaking CompetitionOn Monday the 18th June Cringila PS was chosen to host the local final of the Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition. Our Stage 2 representatives; Andreya and Ryda-May and our Stage 3 representatives; Anica and Ayah all did an outstanding job at both the prepared and impromptu speeches. A special acknowledgement must be made to Ayah who managed to be the overall winner of the Stage 3 competition. This is a fantastic achievement that recognises all the time and effort she has put into public speaking, representing Cringila for the last 4 years. The day could not have run so successfully if it wasn’t for our Year 6 student helpers on the day. Well done to our chairpersons Ali A, timekeeper Ali E as well as our two welcoming and impromptu helpers Sienna and Yasmin for all their hard work. Miss Doe

Unfortunately any child who has been on two or more cards for not following our PBL expectations will be unable to attend. Kindergarten 2019We are currently in the process of organising our 2019 Kindergarten transition program. If you know of anyone who has a child that will be starting Kindergarten in 2019, encourage them to come to the school to collect enrolment pack.

Breakfast ClubThursday morning Breakfast Club is an excellent initiative at our school that ensures every student begins the day with a nutritious meal, which is essential for focus and concentration. Up until now, we have been fortunate enough to work with a local charity, which, due to unforeseen circumstances, can no longer provide food for us. We are still searching for a business who may be able to donate bread, milk, and fruit on a weekly basis or a money donation to enable us to continue this program for our students. If you know any businesses that may be able to assist us, please contact Miss Butcher.
